Watch the Trailer For the Monsters, Inc. Sequel That Never Was

If you’ve been waiting patiently since 2001 for Sully and Mike of Monsters, Inc. to return to the big screen, some bad news: you’re going to have to wait another 20 months. Pixar has scheduled a follow-up for November 2012 — how could they not, considering the original grossed over $500 million worldwide? — but little is known about the project, other than that it won’t be including scenes from the following trailer, assembled by the sequel’s original screenwriters.

If It Wasn’t For Wedding Crashers, Bradley Cooper Would Still Be ‘Nice’

Sometimes all it takes is one prominent supporting film role to force an actor into a type. Take Bradley Cooper, for instance, who shot to fame after playing the appropriately named Sack in Wedding Crashers . “On Alias , I played the nicest guy in the world and then I would try to audition for movies after that and the feedback was like ‘Wow, Bradley’s such a nice guy,’ ‘Yeah, I don’t really see him in that part,'” Cooper told James Lipton recently at a taping of Inside the Actor’s Studio . “[But] after Wedding Crashers , ‘Bradley? Return of the ‘Pack: The Teaser Trailer for The Hangover Part II Debuts with Help from Jay-Z

When the trailer for Bruno debuted in 2009 , Universal tried to sell audiences on the critical love for Sacha Baron Cohen’s previous summer comedy, Borat . It didn’t work. Cut to 2011, and here comes Warner Bros. using a similar strategy in the first teaser for The Hangover Part II (it looks like those Roman numerals are part of the official title), which uses quotes about the first film to fill up much of the trailer’s length. Is this highly anticipated sequel doomed to face a Bruno -like box office fate?

Ed Helms on Cedar Rapids, a ‘Big’ Hangover II Spoiler and Sleeping with Ellen Ripley

Ed Helms is noticeably more anxious than the last time we spoke. In 2009, Helms was promoting his supporting role in a little film The Hangover — a film which you’ll recall went on to become the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all-time. Back then, Helms was just a co-star; now he’s both the lead and executive producer on Cedar Rapids , a Sundance favorite about a mild-mannered insurance man from Wisconsin who heads to Cedar Rapids and has more than a few life-changing experiences. As the saying goes, “What happens in Cedar Rapids, stays in Cedar Rapids.”

The 10 Most Anticipated Movies and TV Shows for 2011 — Mike’s Picks

To be honest, I hadn’t given a lot of thought to anything coming up in 2011. Usually, I wait until the last minute to think about anything — Christmas gifts? That’s Thursday’s problem! — let alone a movie that might still be twelve months away. Now, being forced at gunpoint (figuratively; a literal description would be more my Gchat being on a constant loop with the words, “Where’s your list?!”), to look ahead to 2011, there are quite a few things that I’m excited about for the New Year. Admittedly, I’d like to throw on a few movies that you’ve never heard of — just to create the illusion that I possess some sort of eclectic knowledge to make myself feel better — but that would be lying. So here’s my actual, make-fun-of-it-if-you-want list.
