Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle: Dating in Real Life?!?

OMFG, East Siders: might Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle be exchanging XOXOs in real life?!? The actress and actor, who portrayed star-crossed lovers Lily and Rufus on Gossip Girl for many years, appear to have taken their romance off screen. At least based on a handful of intimate photos posted to Instagram, such as the following snapshot Rutherford recently included on her account… along with a heart emoticon! The fictional couple didn’t end up together to close out Gossip Girl (ummm… spoiler alert!), but it appears as if Rutherford and Settle are determined to right that wrong in their actual personal lives. There’s even an Instagram fan account documenting Kelly and Matthew’s relationship. It is adorably called Settleford. Things have been far less adorable for Rutherford over the past few years. The beautiful actress filed for bankruptcy in the summer of 2013; and she was involved in one of the more tension-filled custody battles in recent Hollywood memory back in 2009. Her split with estranged husband Daniel Giersch was so contentious that Giersch learned about the birth of his child online at the time, from celebrity gossip reports. So, hey, at least the bar is set very low for Settle. Go watch Gossip Girl online in order to relive this fake romance and then join us in wishing the best to the two stars now recreating it for real. Yay! Gossip Girl Cast: Then & Now 1. Blake Lively Blake Lively, after closing the book on Serena van der Woodsen, married her Green Lantern co-star Ryan Reynolds and is now pregnant with their first child. Since Gossip Girl wrapped, she moved on to film projects as an actress, and has kept a pretty low-profile, which doesn’t always mesh with her fashion icon status and being named one of TIME‘s 100 Most Influential People. She also launched a new lifetyle website, Preserve, on which she revealed her pregnancy.

Race Matters: Should Viewers Care That The Flash Has A Black Girlfriend In New Show?

Are people ready for “race bending” in comics? “The Flash” Casts Black Actress In White Character Role The new series based on The Flash recently aired, with a few notable changes to the traditional story canon. Most notably, The Flash’s eventual girlfriend, Iris West, is now a young Black woman. One LA Times writer examines the response to the change: The critics of “race-bending” or “race-switching” in adaptations of comic book lore don’t seem to be racist. Rather, as one website summarizes their complaint, they object to “political correctness pandering meant to foster the illusion of diversity, which is disrespectful to the tradition of these characters AND the general public.” But, as comics nerds of a certain age remember, the “tradition” of comic books in the 1950s and ’60s was to ignore blacks — perhaps to avoid offending readers in the South (or their racist parents). But it wasn’t just racial diversity that was lacking in the so-called Silver Age. Though many comic book creators were Jews or Italian Americans (Bob Kane, Batman’s creator, started out as Robert Kahn), the DC Universe of the time was Earth-WASP. In the 1970s comics discovered African Americans virtually overnight and soon black characters appeared to challenge not just super villains but “The Man” as well. The high, or low, point of the “relevance” craze was “I Am Curious Black,” in which Lois Lane entered a matter-transformer and emerged as a black woman. (“Suppose I couldn’t change back?” the altered Lois asks the Man of Steel. “Would you marry me? Even if I’m black?”) There was no such self-conscious racial melodrama in the premiere of “The Flash.” Iris’ race wasn’t emphasized or agonized about — which was refreshing. One could argue that this sort of comfortable color-blindness understates the persistence of racism in America, but it’s much closer to reality than the all-white Metropolis crowds who marveled at Superman’s exploits in the 1950s. And that’s the best refutation of the comics’ nerds complaint that the new approach is “disrespectful to the tradition of these characters.” That tradition was a dishonest and dishonorable one — as DC Comics admitted in a 1970 story in which an elderly black man rips into Green Lantern: “I been readin’ about you … how you work for the blue skins … and how on a planet someplace you helped out the orange skins … and you done considerable for the purple skins! Only there’s skins you never bothered with — ! The black skins! I want to know … how come?! Answer me that, Mr. Green Lantern!” Over the top, but he had a point. Your thoughts? Kendall Jenner Knows How To Dress

I’m not gonna lie, it took me a little while to pay attention to anything other than all the skin Kendall Jenner ‘s showing here, but according to my notes, these pictures are from some kind of book launch from Kendall and her troublemaking sister Kylie Jenner . Because apparently they wrote a book. Or at least paid somebody else to write it and let them put their names on the cover. Anyway, I know people say you can’t judge a book by its cover, but I’m pretty sure you can judge a writer by what they wear to their book launch. And in that case, I think Kendall is my new favorite author. Yow. » view all 26 photos Photos: WENN.com , Fameflynet

Blake Lively Hotness Comeback?

As you guys know, I’ve been a little disappointed in Blake Lively in the past. It’s like the second she married that Green Lantern douche, her and her awesome funbags pretty much disappeared. Well, I’m pretty sure she’s finally trying to make a hotness comeback or something, because this is the third post I’ve done on her in the last few weeks. And even though it’s just some nice red carpet cleavage (you know, as opposed to the lingerie selfies or bikini shots I was hoping for), she’s definitely headed in the right direction again. All she needs to do now is ditch that loser husband for an A-list blogger and the comeback will be complete. Photos: WENN.com

In White Folks News: Ryan Reynolds Weds Blake Lively In South Carolina

Looks like congratulations are in order ! It’s been nearly a year since they were first publicly linked – and now Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are husband and wife. A source confirms to PEOPLE that the couple tied the knot Sunday night at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston. The reception took place in a white tent at the plantation on Sunday evening. Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), a good friend of the Gossip Girl star, performed three songs live, and there was also a deejay who spun tunes. PEOPLE also confirmed that a cake was being driven down from Virginia for the event. Lively’s mother and sister were also spotted in town, and a source told PEOPLE that the two had dinner in Charleston with Bette Midler earlier in the weekend. Reps for the two actors had no comment. Lively and Reynolds have been in nesting mode since buying a home in Bedford, N.Y., earlier this year. They have subsequently been seen working out together at a local gym, as well as spending quality time with their families in New York and Vancouver, where Reynolds, PEOPLE’s 2010 Sexiest Man Alive, was born. The two, who costarred together in 2011′s Green Lantern, have stayed relatively mum about their relationship, though Lively, 25, did tell Marie Claire this summer, “It’s definitely attractive when a man can dress well.” Reynolds, 35, was previously married to Scarlett Johansson. The couple divorced in 2010 after two years of marriage. This is the first marriage for Lively, who previously dated her Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley. Congrats and best of luck to the happy couple! We hope they never need a “Hollyweird Divorce”! Source

Nas & Green Lantern “A Queens Story” Live In Paris [Video] Plus Nas Shows Sensitive Side With Kelis Tribute Song “Bye Baby”

The anticipation levels couldn’t be any higher over in these parts when it comes to Nas’ new album Life Is Good but in the meantime we have been happily taking in all the leaked songs, interview excerpts and video footage from Nas’current European tour. Speaking of which, Nas just released this live performance of “A Queens Story” with Green Lantern from their Paris show. Check it out: And it’s interesting that he declares Marvin Gaye his favorite artist in that clip, because he’s described “Life Is Good” as his own version of Gaye’s “Here, My Dear” particularly because he’s holding part of Kelis’ dress on the album cover: “I found it in my house and thought, it’s going somewhere! Either on the cover of my album, or burning in a garbage can.” He laughs. “I was angry when I first found it. Hurt and angry – but I don’t think she left it deliberately to hurt me. It’s just part of the dress, so I don’t know where the rest of it is. But it made all the sense in the world for me to … hold on to that.” He pauses. “I guess that’s just my personality. “My wedding and my marriage was, for the most part, some of the most amazing times of my life.” He clears his throat. “She’s an incredible woman. It just ended really publicly, it seemed real bad. I guess this is my Here, My Dear album, that Marvin Gaye made. It might not be quite so much about the marriage or the divorce, but it’s still that kind of record for me.” The latest song to leak off “Life is Good” is a brilliant tribute to his former lady love Kelis called “Bye Baby.” The song, produced by Salaam Remi and Noah “40″ Shebib samples Guy’s “Goodbye Love” and we couldn’t help but to smile a little as Nas recounts his life with his former wife. If you haven’t heard it yet, you have to check it out: Do you think Nas will catch any flack for getting “sensitive” in song? Just a thought. Hit the flip for Nas’ collabo with Amy Winehouse.

‘Justice League’ Movie In The Works At Warner Bros.

Studio has hired ‘Gangster Squad’ writer Will Beall to pen script. By Kevin P. Sullivan Justice League Photo: Everett/Rex Features/Warner Bros With the enormous success of Marvel’s superhero crossover “,” it was only a matter of time before we heard of renewed efforts from DC Comics and Warner Bros. to get their own franchise mashup, “Justice League,” off the ground. So it should come as no surprise that a new report from Variety confirms that Warner Bros. hired ” Gangster Squad ” writer Will Beall to write the “Justice League” movie sometime last year. Beall has become the go-to guy for Warner Bros., which recently hired him to write the screenplays for its “Lethal Weapon” reboot and the “” remake, which has director Nicolas Winding Refn and star currently attached. The report from Variety points out that the Beall hire occurred while Marvel was assembling “The Avengers,” so the move was more “in anticipation of — rather than a reaction to — the box office success.” Though the actual hire took place months ago, Beall has yet to turn in a script. Along the lines of the “Avengers” development pattern, Warner Bros. has also brought in a writer to take a swing at one of DC’s biggest heroes, Wonder Woman. Michael Goldenberg, one of the three writers of “Green Lantern,” will reportedly pen the script. The other two “Green Lantern” writers, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green, are already at work on a screenplay for “The Flash.” Hiring Beall is Warner’s first major step toward producing a “Justice League” film since production stalled out in 2008. Then, “Mad Max” director George Miller was set to helm the film with Adam Brody as the Flash, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman and a relatively unknown Armie Hammer as Batman. Warner Bros. claimed that a lack of tax breaks and the inability to hire a screenwriter to rewrite the script during the WGA strike stalled that version.
