Ever since Kate Middleton’s wedding dress went on display, people from around the world have lined up at doors of Buckingham Palace to view a piece of history. In six weeks, the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding gown by Sarah Burton and Alexander McQueen has already been viewed by 350,000 visitors and counting. With one month to go, that number is expected to rise past 500,000. Among the first to check it out: Kate’s grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth . A spokesman for the Royal Collection says, “We’re thrilled that so many people have visited Buckingham Palace this summer in what looks to be a record year.” “The Royal Wedding attracted worldwide interest, so it’s only natural that many people want to come to experience the State Rooms used for the reception and take a closer look at The Duchess of Cambridge’s dress – which celebrates great British design.” Adult admission is $28.50, with the proceeds going to the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund, benefiting charities chosen by Prince William and Kate Middleton .
