Adele Makes It Two In A Row Atop Billboard 200

Former Floetry member Marsha Ambrosius lands at #2 with solo debut. By Gil Kaufman Adele’s 21 Photo: Columbia Records Cracking the American market has always been a challenge for British acts, but U.K. soul singer Adele is making it look easy. After her second album, 21, topped the Billboard 200 chart last week, she will do it again next week, holding onto the top spot with sales just shy of 168,000. According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, sales were down 52 percent, but that was still enough to beat out the #2 album, the solo debut by former Floetry member Marsha Ambrosius , Late Nights & Early Mornings, which had a good showing thanks to 96,000 units moved. The only other newcomers in the top 10 are the latest from Irish rockers Dropkick Murphys , Going Out in Style, which comes in at #6 (43,000), and Staind singer Aaron Lewis ‘ solo effort, Town Line, which is just behind at #7 (38,000). The rest of the top 10: Mumford & Sons , Sigh No More (#3, 54,000), Justin Bieber , Never Say Never – The Remixes (#4, 53,000), NOW 37 (#5, 44,000), Bieber’s My World 2.0 (#8, 33,000), Bruno Mars , Doo-Wops & Hooligans (#9, 32,000) and Pink , Greatest Hits So Far!!! (#10, 31,000). The latest sales totals for Mumford make them the first English band since 2009 (Coldplay, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends ) to sell 1 million copies of an album in both the U.K. and U.S. One of the most notable chart climbs belongs to the left-for-dead soundtrack to the Christina Aguilera/ Cher big-screen flop “Burlesque,” which rockets up 122 spots in the wake of Aguilera’s arrest for public intoxication , the movie’s release on DVD and the announcement that Aguilera will join the judging panel of “The Voice.” Also getting a boost following its Oscar win is the soundtrack to “The Social Network” by Nine Inch Nails leader Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross , which climbs 66 slots to #59 (9,000). Further down the line, Different Gear, Still Speeding, the debut from former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher’s new band, Beady Eye , lands at #31 on modest sales of 13,000, and Swedish singer Lykke Li ‘s second album, Wounded Rhymes, debuts at #36 (12,000). Lady Gaga still rules the singles chart on iTunes, topping the list with “Born This Way,” followed by “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez ‘s smash dance hit “On the Floor,” Cee Lo Green ‘s “Forget You,” Rihanna ‘s “S&M,” Ke$ha ‘s “Blow” and Dr. Dre ‘s “I Need a Doctor.” The tally is rounded out with #7 hit “F—in’ Perfect” by Pink , Katy Perry ‘s “E.T.,” Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” and Britney Spears ‘ “Till the World Ends.” Adele continued her winning ways on the iTunes albums chart, holding down the #1 spot, followed by Ambrosius, Mumford, Luke Bryan ‘s Spring Break 3 … It’s a Shore Thing, the Murphys, Lewis, Pink, Bieber’s 2.0, Beady Eye and pre-orders for Foo Fighters ‘ Wasting Light. Look for chart debuts next week from Lupe Fiasco , Avril Lavigne , R.E.M. , Raekwon and the latest “Glee” soundtrack. Related Artists Adele

‘Real World: Las Vegas’ Roomies Dish On New Season

‘Vegas brought out the best and worst of all of us,’ castmate Leroy Garrett tells MTV News. By James Dinh, with reporting by Sway Calloway “Real World: Las Vegas” cast Photo: MTV It’s time for a new group of strangers to live in a house and have their lives taped for MTV’s “The Real World.” Now in its 25th season, the reality show returns to Las Vegas on Wednesday (March 9) at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV for some hard-core partying, hookups and drama. MTV News’ Sway Calloway caught up with the new gang of roomies at the show’s premiere party on Saturday, where the castmates dished details about their time in Sin City. “If anything, the girls were the least drama of the house,” Nany Gonzalez proudly told Sway. Another castmate, Naomi Defensor, echoed those thoughts, saying, “I don’t know about the guys, but the girls were the most chill people in the house.” While the girls insist that they remained drama-free, another castmember said the new season is full of ups and downs because of Vegas’ party lifestyle. “We fight. We laugh together, we party, drink. Vegas brought out the best and worst of all of us,” Leroy Garrett said. Asked if viewers will see any hot-and-heavy hookups, Defensor pleaded the Fifth, saying, “I know nothing about that.” However, Garrett, who was also hush-hush about any on-camera romance during this season of “The Real World,” admitted that he couldn’t help notice the overflow of women. “When I came to Vegas, that’s all I cared about was women, so looking over there, I’m like, ‘Damn. I love it,’ ” the 25-year-old castmate said. Don’t miss “The Real World: Las Vegas” every Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT! Related Photos Real World Las Vegas | Premiere Party

‘The City’ Star Roxy Olin Calls Nemesis Olivia Palermo ‘An Obstacle’

‘She deserves everything she gets!’ Olin tells MTV News of siding with co-star Whitney Port in this season’s fashion-world drama. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi Roxy Olin Photo: MTV Fans of “The City” are about to see fireworks explode between Whitney Port and her nemesis Olivia Palermo . But no matter what goes down between the two girls, Port’s right-hand gal, Roxy Olin, has always got Whitney’s back. “Olivia is very well dressed. I will give her credit for that, but she’s hard to deal with and we butt heads,” Roxy told MTV News of interacting this season with her co-star, an Elle accessories editor. “I’m definitely on Whitney’s team with this and after watching it, I’m like, ‘Oh, my God! You’re not a nice girl and what you’re willing to do [to people], and you’re sabotaging someone’s [fashion] line that they worked so hard [on], and have been your friend and have been in your corner.’ ” Roxy warned that she, Whitney and their crew wouldn’t let the headstrong Olivia walk all over them. “It’s not going to be like that anymore,” Olin said. “We’re not in your corner and you’ll see that, and if that means drama, then bring it. She deserves everything she gets!” Although Roxy said she is a “huge advocate for change,” she was unsure about whether Olivia could change her stripes. While the girls were shooting and living out the drama of the show’s third season, the “City” castmember said she hadn’t realized just how devious Olivia could be until she watched the new episodes. “I think while experiencing that [drama], we did not think [all] that was going on,” Olin said of Palermo’s antics. “We thought she was helping, so watching it, it’s like, ‘Really’? We’re right about our instincts, and she’s not a good person. It’s cutthroat in this fashion world and she’s one of our obstacles.” Teasing that Whitney and Olivia are going to have a confrontation that will leave fans wanting more, she too says that she and Olivia also come to verbal blows. “I did have a confrontation,” she said. “I think you’ll see it. Whitney’s [confrontation] is great though. You know how sweet Whitney is … so …” Who do you think will win in the Olivia vs. Whitney battle 2010? Discuss in the comments! “The City” airs Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT after “The Hills” at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Related Photos The City (Season 2) | Cast

‘Jersey Shore’ Ladies Show Their Manners During Photo Shoot

‘I used to take etiquette school,’ Snooki tells Tinsley Mortimer during Harper’s Bazaar session. By Jocelyn Vena Sammi Sweatheart, Snooki and J-Woww at the Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot Photo: Harper’s Bazaar When the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar hits newsstands on April 27, you will be able to read about the girls of “Jersey Shore” getting tips on how to be ladylike from one of Manhattan’s preeminent socialites, Tinsley Mortimer. But we will show you what happened while the girls were getting class lessons. In behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot, the ladies are seen getting pretty and listening while Mortimer schools them on the fine art of being a celebutante. However, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi made it known that she’d already had some training. “Well, I used to take etiquette school. I know a couple things already — I just haven’t been using them,” she said. “I’d say I definitely have a lot more female friends just because I guess they look up to me or whatever. I’m a strong person and I have a strong personality.” Jenni “JWoww” Farley also divulged that, like Snooki, she’s well-versed in the world of etiquette. “I know them pretty well, the lessons that they are giving,” she explained, adding that if someone doesn’t like who she is, it’s their problem. “We’re not trying to mimic anyone. We can’t make everyone happy.” “I feel like I already know how to be a lady,” Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola added. “I find I have a lot of young girls who really look up to me and talk to me. They’re more my fans.” So what was it like for a refined woman like Mortimer to hang out with party girls from the Jersey Shore? She was actually quite excited by it. “Oh my god! It’s like a dream come true,” she raved. “I’m obsessed with those girls.” Related Photos The ‘Jersey Shore’ Ladies Get A Makeover
