The Walking Dead Preview: A Slice of Season 7

The Walking Dead returned with a bang on Sunday night. Or, to be more precise, The Walking Dead returned with a bat on Sunday night. And that bat was slammed into the heads of two main characters, both of whom were killed off the show in very gruesome fashion. The Walking Dead Season 7: What’s Ahead? Rest in peace, Abraham. And rest in peace, Glenn. Both of these heroes lost their lives at the hands of Negan on The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 1 , with the drama’s most frightening villain to date making it very clear that he’s in charge. But don’t take our word it. Take the word of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes. “Let me put this to all of you as clearly as I can,” he says in the extended preview above. “I’m not in charge anymore. Negan is.” Elsewhere in this trailer, we see Daryl getting shown the scary ropes of the Saviors’ territory by Dwight, as Negan makes another point clear: “I don’t think you get it yet,” he says. “You work for me.” Aside from the promo featured here, AMC also released a clip from next Sunday’s new installment, which is titled “The Well.” It features Carol on the mend in the Kingdom with Morgan, who tells his friend of the Kingdom leader: “He does his own thing.” “Uh, what does that mean?” she asks. The Walking Dead Clip: Welcome to The Kingdom The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere has received some backlash for just how violent it was, setting a new standard even for a show who has violence to thank for its immense popularity. Why did we need to see Glenn’s eyes pop out? Why did the camera need to linger on his lifeless body in such a manner? Explained director Greg Nicotero in a conference call with reporters today: “It was important to launch us into this season by showing the extent of what Negan is capable of doing, because that drives so much of where the series is going from here on in.” Moreover, to him Nicotero seeing Rick, “our hero, completely crushed… is more disturbing than the actual violence.” Some folks out there might disagree. Did YOU think the premiere was too violent? Did the series go too far on Sunday night? Yes, that was ridiculous! No, the show has always been violent. Whatever, I stopped watching ages ago. View Poll » Why did two people need to get killed off? “We really needed to drive Rick and Negan’s story throughout the season, and we felt that one death would do the trick, but the second death – Glenn’s death – really propels us into a very different direction,” Nicotero said, adding: [That second murder is] really about Negan laying down the law. So [it] has a lot to do with Rick’s future story, Maggie’s future story and certainly Daryl’s future story.” Interesting. You can use the following video to watch The Walking Dead online and see what the controversy was all about now: Watch The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 1 Online Response to the premiere has been less than positive, with fans upset over the blood, gore and violence… along with perceived manipulation of producers waiting until halfway through the hour to reveal Negan’s victims. What does Nicotero have to say to those who have threatened to stop watching? “Listen… I’ve been shocked at the turns of events on [Game of Thrones]. But you know what? I still love it. And I’m still committed to seeing where that story goes. “So I think it’s a kneejerk reaction that people have, because they care about these characters. That’s a tribute to every single actor on our show that has perished. “It’s unfortunate that people want to take a negative spin on it… [and especially] if that’s really what’s going to happen [and they’ll stop watching], because the show still has a lot to offer!” WILL YOU KEEP WATCHING THE WALKING DEAD?

Bobby Shmurda Speaks Out For The First Time Since Taking Plea Deal From NYPD

The Brooklyn Rappers Refuse To Let Anyone “Steal Their Joy” Bobby Shmurda made headlines this week as his case has officially been put to rest. Bobby and his friend, Rowdy Rebel ,took plea deals for seven years apiece on a variety of felony gun and drug charges. Though both rappers took deals for seven years, they did it with the caveat of time served. Since they were originally locked up in 2014, it means they’ve already got two years served and with good behavior, could be out as early as sometime in 2019. Complex made a phone call to both artists to see how they’ve held up and it seems like the Brooklyn emcees are taking it in stride. Rowdy Rebel talked about what’s next or him and Bobby Shmurda (via Complex ): Basically right now, we get our minds right, our bodies right, our souls right. We’re putting together a couple of mixtapes for the streets to stay relevant. Me and Bobby have one called The Last of the Real, it’s going to be like 11 songs. I’m going to drop Shmoney Keep Calling Pt. 2 soon. Apart from that, we’ve got a couple new artists, some friends that we’re going to promote while we in here, that have a couple songs out there. My boy Chase Hound, who’s currently locked up, but he’ll be home by April. My little brother Fetty Luciano, he’s currently locked up, but he’ll be home in like 10 months. Right now we’re just staying positive. It ain’t over; we’ll be out in like three-and-a-half. We don’t want anyone giving up hope on us. Bobby also chimed in to talk about why he took the plea deal. I did it for Rowdy. They offered me five and offered Rowdy 12. They said the only way they’ll give him seven is if I took seven too. So, you know, I had to take one for the dawgs. The judge wasn’t really playing fair because he was letting a lot of stuff into court that wasn’t supposed to be. The only witnesses the DA had against us were lying cops. We had detectives lying, saying they seen us with guns in our hands, but when everything came back there was no DNA, no fingerprints, no nothing. My lawyer told me we don’t want to go to court in Manhattan with these white people because they’re going to be looking at me, a little black kid. Who are they going to believe, the word of this black kid talking about shooting shit up or the word of white officers? A jury is going to believe cops all day. We’re black kids, these are white people with badges. Both rappers also seemed optimistic about their return trip home. I’m rapping, I’m acting, I’m going to have some books out. I want people to hear my story, they’re gonna feel my pain. I have three years to make a book happen. I got love for 50 Cent, I got love for DMX, but my movie’s gonna be better than Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and Belly put together, and it’s gonna be a true story. And I swear, I feel bad for somebody’s daughter because her back is gonna need some new bones and her vagina gonna need a tombstone. [Laughs.] They ain’t never gonna take my joy. It’s an unfortunate situation but it’s also good to see both rappers are positive about their future and in high spirits.
