A source told the trade magazine that “Never” had serious buzz at some post-Oscar parties thanks to its healthy grosses, which have impressed some Academy members. “You’d be surprised at the caliber of people who came up to Justin at the Vanity Fair party at the Sunset Tower, most of whom had seen the movie and loved it,” said an unnamed insider. “There was even talk of putting it up for an Oscar next year in the documentary category. People appreciate that it’s not just a kids’ movie.” The article mentioned that Bieber was one of the brightest stars at the Fair party, chatting up Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger and working the room like a pro. Justin Bieber Greets Fans In New ‘Never Say Never’ Clip

Manager Scooter Braun says he gets paid ‘to just make other people happy.’ By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber greets a fan in a “Never Say Never” clip Photo: Paramount In four weeks, Justin Bieber’s 3-D flick, “Never Say Never,” will be in theaters. As fans gear up for the film event of 2011, Ryan Seacrest shared a never-before-released clip from the Bieber film, which opens on February 11 . In the video, Bieber performs an acoustic version of “Baby.” The performance footage is combined with scenes of him greeting his fans, something manager Scooter Braun admits is the highlight of working with the teen superstar. “Me and the guy from ‘Extreme Home Makeover’ have the best jobs in the world,” Braun explains in the new clip. “It’s actually the most gratifying thing about the job. Little things go a very long way. You get paid to just make other people happy.” Braun admits that it really doesn’t take much to make a Bielieber happy, just some primo seats to a Bieber show. “You give them free tickets and they’re usually in the first 10 rows,” Braun further explains. “If it weren’t for those kids out there, we don’t have jobs.” This is only the latest peek at the forthcoming film. A few weeks ago a clip of Bieber drumming as a kid was released. In it, his mom recalls his early days. “He never had any lessons or anything. I just never thought of it being anything other than for fun,” Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, says. The film’s director, Jon Chu, told MTV News that he was nervous showing Bieber cuts of the film because he worried that the singer wouldn’t be happy with the way he told his story. “I mean, I’m always nervous. We’re always trying to make our movies better,” he explained. “We’re never done with it, though. I just keep going until they tell me I’ve run out of time. So [Justin] got to see it this week, which was really exciting, and he loved it, which is always scary when you try to show someone the story of their life, but he’s been very supportive, he and his family and his team. I’m excited to share it with the world and show another side of 3-D. With ‘Step Up 3D,’ we learned a lot of lessons and we discovered a lot of things, and it’s just the beginning.” Related Photos Justin Bieber’s ‘Never Say Never’: Alternate Movie Titles Related Artists Justin Bieber

‘Never Say Never’ Director Was ‘Nervous’ About Justin Bieber Flick

‘[It’s] always scary when you try to show someone the story of their life,’ Jon Chu tells MTV News of screening for teen star. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: John Shearer/ WireImage In February fans will finally get the chance to see Justin Bieber’s long-awaited “Never Say Never.” And the flick’s director, Jon Chu, recently dished to MTV News that things are coming along fine as he puts the finishing touches on the February 11 release. “Oh, we stand pretty tall. It’s nuts! This is a world that I have never experienced before,” he laughed to MTV News about the 3-D film. Chu, who was promoting the DVD release of “Step Up 3D,” said getting the fans’ support has been invaluable. “Again it’s like dance, where music tells the story. It’s really interesting and his fans have been amazing, shooting him in 3-D in Madison Square Garden , exploring his life, going to his hometown. We’re almost done with our cut right now and I’m really proud of it. I think people are going to be surprised about the story that they’re going to get. Something is really special.” Bieber tweeted about seeing the film recently and gave it his seal of approval. And Chu admitted to us that he’s feeling the pressure now to make the best possible film. “I mean, I’m always nervous. We’re always trying to make our movies better,” he explained. “We’re never done with it though. I just keep going until they tell me I’ve run out of time. So [Justin] got to see it this week, which was really exciting and he loved it, which is always scary when you try to show someone the story of their life, but he’s been very supportive, he and his family and his team.
