Katherine McNamara Is Going To Be Trouble

In case you’re wondering why you haven’t seen Katherine McNamara on the site before, it can all be explained in one number: 18. Yes, as in the age she’s going to be turning in a few months. Still, I don’t blame you for thinking the Disney star’s older. According to my sources, she’s already graduated from college. But I doubt that argument will help you much with the cops. And since I have a feeling this little ginger is going to be big trouble, let’s just move it along for now. Photos: Fameflynet

Tara Mackey Has A Sexy New Video

A couple months ago I first came across LA model/singer Tara Mackey and her sexy cover video , and since you guys know how I like to Google stalk “follow” my new favorite hotties, I just noticed Tara showed up in the new Arctic Monkeys video too. Which might be the first music video we’ve ever had on this site that I haven’t had to watch on mute. Anyway, it really inspired me, and now I want to make a video like this with Tara too. She’d be the lead, and it’ll probably last all of 30 seconds. Well, OK, maybe 45 if she’s lucky and I can beat my old personal best. Wish us luck. *Follow Tara on Instagram!

‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Trailer Delivers Action, Laughs

MTV News’ Josh Horowitz and Josh Wigler give their stamp of approval to the sneak peek with their own commentary track. By Josh Horowitz and Josh Wigler Andrew Garfield in the trailer for “Amazing Spider-Man” Photo: Columbia Now that’s the Spider-Man we’ve been waiting for! The friendly neighborhood wall-crawler swung into action early Tuesday (February 7) with a brand-new trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man,” director Marc Webb’s reboot of the flagship Marvel superhero. Although we were afforded the opportunity to see the world from Spidey’s own perspective in the last preview — quite literally, in fact — we honestly get an even better sense of what Webb is going for with his take on the “Spider-Man” franchise in this latest spot. From web-shooters to reptilian rampages, there’s a lot to cover in the newest look at “Spider-Man,” so MTV Movies Managing Editor Josh Horowitz and MTV Splash Page Editor Josh Wigler used their combined spider-senses to dive into the “Amazing” new trailer. Swing Away We’ve known about the return of Spider-Man’s web-shooters for a while now. But knowing and seeing are very different things — and yes, we like what we see, very much! The red-light visual cue of the shooters paired with mechanical sound effects is magic for the eyes and music to our ears. And actually seeing Spidey webbing around New York City — perhaps it’s early, but “Amazing” looks to have the best web-slinging of any Spider-Man movie to date. Lighten Up Andrew Garfield is funny. Peter Parker is hilarious. But based on the first teaser, we weren’t sure that Garfield’s Parker would be in on the joke. Well, we were wrong! The “Social Network” actor shows his Spidey knowhow in this new trailer, cracking wise against criminals and spinning them up all the same. “Amazing” looks like a darker Spider-Man than the films we’ve seen before, sure, but there’s room for levity. Garfield seems to fully understand that, and we’re tremendously relieved. The Untold Story The new secret origin of Peter Parker remains mystifying. It seems that the disappearance of Peter’s parents early in his childhood isn’t just a peripheral plot point, but perhaps even at the core of how and why Peter becomes Spider-Man. It’s a curious move likely to leave both casual and die-hard fans scratching their heads, at least for now. The new trailer doesn’t clear things up much, so we’ll have to wait until July to see how this mysterious web unravels. Nolan-esque Marc Webb gets characters. He gets emotion. Anyone who saw “(500) Days of Summer” knows this. Now we know he gets action as well. Web-slinging aside, the scene of maskless Spidey going toe-to-toe against a pack of cops is a brilliantly executed piece of action and gives us lots of confidence that Webb knows what he’s doing in the fisticuffs department. Dare we say it, we even got a “Dark Knight” vibe from that scene. King Koopa The Lizard remains a divisive issue, even after this trailer. He’s only seen in bits and pieces, but the few glimpses leave something to be desired. Hopefully the final FX work will make a difference. That said, looks aside, the sheer size and scale of the Lizard is something to admire. It holds great potential for some spectacular skyscraping scraps between Spidey and his reptilian nemesis, and we’re holding out hope that the epic battles compensate for lackluster creature design. Metallica Announce First-Ever Orion Music Fest

Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse, Gaslight Anthem among other acts on June festival lineup. By Gil Kaufman Metallica’s James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo Photo: Tim Mosenfelder/ WireImage They’ve headlined stadiums around the world and made an incredibly polarizing album with punk grandfather Lou Reed. So what’s left for Metallica to do to cap off a stellar year? How about launch their own summer festival with a lineup that includes some of their favorite bands? On Tuesday (February 7), the group announced the debut of the Orion Music + More fest, described as an annual “music, arts and lifestyle” gathering that will feature multiple stages and take place June 23-24 at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In addition to headlining sets from Metallica each day — during which they will play The Black Album one night and Ride the Lightning the other in their only North American performances of those classic releases in 2012 — the festival will also feature sets from: Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, the Gaslight Anthem, Cage the Elephant, F—ed Up, Best Coast, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Gary Clark Jr., Lucero, Roky Erickson, the Black Angels, the Sword and Liturgy. More bands will be announced in the coming weeks. “We’ve had the idea of doing our own lifestyle festival with lots of diverse music and fun and games for years,” drummer Lars Ulrich said in a press release announcing the event. “Finally this year all the practical ducks lined up in a row, and we are beyond psyched to bring Orion to our fans, friends and the curious. After the most incredible of weeks ever in December 2011 celebrating our 30th anniversary at the Fillmore in San Francisco, CA, bringing the spirit of that week, the looseness of that week, the possibilities of that week, the fan interactive elements of that week, and the (fill in your own blank here) of that week to a festival setting is so exciting we can hardly contain ourselves.” Pre-sale tickets for the Metallica fan club start Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET, with the public on-sale slated to begin Saturday. Tickets are $150 for two-day passes for the public and $125 for fan-club members. Head to OrionMusicAndMore.com for details. Will you check out the first Orion fest? Let us know in the comments! Muse, Arcade Fire, Phish To Headline Outside Lands Festival

MGMT, Girl Talk, Big Boi and deadmau5 also on the bill of the three-day San Francisco event scheduled for August. By Gil Kaufman Muse’s Matthew Bellamy Photo: Andy Sheppard/ Redferns If you’ve never been to San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Park then you may not know that it’s the kind of place where barefoot types are very likely to break out into spontaneous dance between bouts of stick juggling and hula hooping. Which is why the lineup for the 2011 Outside Lands Music & Art Festival is perfect for the historic patch of green in the City by the Bay. The fourth annual edition of the fest, scheduled for August 12-14, will be headlined by Muse, Phish (who will play two sets), Arcade Fire, the Black Keys, MGMT, the Decemberists, Erykah Badu and the Warren Haynes Band. That eclectic mix of jam-band, techno, indie-rock and arena powerhouses reflects the sonic diversity on the rest of the bill, which will also feature deadmau5, the Roots, Girl Talk, Big Boi, Beirut and Sia playing alongside iconic rocker and Creedence Clearwater Revival founder John Fogerty, New Orleans funk legends the Original Meters, gospel great Mavis Staples and re-formed Clash spinoff group Big Audio Dynamite. Also on the bill are: Arctic Monkeys, STS9, Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band, Best Coast, Phantogram, Junip, Little Dragon, Foster the People, the Joy Formidable, Major Lazer, OK Go, the Greyboy Allstars, Old 97’s, !!!, Latyrx featuring Lyrics Born & Lateef, Phantogram, STRFKR, Toro y Moi, Vetiver, Tamaryn, the Fresh & Onlys and others. Tickets go on sale on Thursday at the Outside Lands website, and a significant part of proceeds from every ticket will benefit San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department. Last year’s Outside Lands event also featured a similarly diverse variety of artists, including Kings of Leon, the Strokes, My Morning Jacket, Janelle Mon
