LA County Sued Arenas And His Baby’s Mother Over Supporting Little Paige, 5 LA County has come out swinging against ex-NBA bad boy Gilbert Arenas, asking the courts to order him to pay child support for his alleged secret daughter after the girl inexplicably ended up on the welfare rolls. LA County filed a support complaint against the former Washington Wizards star late last year over little Paige Arenas, now five years old, after Paige and her mother Erica Schiele became destitute and began receiving public assistance from LA County. The court docs say Arenas and his baby mama Schiele signed papers confirming that they were Paige’s parents. The child is currently living with her mother, according to court papers.

After popping all that yang about how he wanted Laura Govan to get some reality TV checks so he could cut back on child support , Gilbert Arenas has had a change of heart. So now he’s borrowing a page out of the Dwight Howard/Chris Bosh book of Baby Mama Handling. According to reports, he has filed a lawsuit to stop Laura Govan from exploiting his image. The Orlando Magic guard has asked a judge to pull the plug on VH1′s “Basketball Wives: LA” before it even airs because the show stars Laura Govan, the mother of his four children. In his lawsuit, Arenas charged that “the very presence of defendent Govan and the title of the show is an obvious reference to [Arenas].” Even though Arenas will not be mentioned on the show, his name was used in a press release to promote “Basketball Wives: LA.” Not only does Arenas not want the show to air, he also wants money from Govan. Arenas isn’t the only Magic player with an ex on “Basketball Wives.” The mother of Dwight Howard’s son, Royce Reed, a former Magic and Miami Heat dancer, stars on the Florida version, which is currently in its third season. Howard has successfully blocked Reed from mentioning him or their child on-air. “Basketball Wives: LA” is set to air August 29 and will also star Kimsha Artest (wife of the Lakers’ Ron Artest), Govan’s sister Gloria Govan (fiancee of the Lakers’ Matt Barnes) and Jackie Christie (wife of former Clippers player Doug Christie). Laura Govan checking Gilbert Arenas assets all the way to the bank!!! How in the world do you get served during the NBA game??? Did they have to buy a ticket to the game in order to do this??? A process server stopped Arenas as he walked off the court Thursday night against the Miami Heat. The court documents, obtained by The Associated Press, were a California petition filed by Laura Mendoza Govan. She identifies herself as his ex-girlfriend in the documents. The petition seeks custody and child support for three children that Govan says Arenas fathered and has since “financially cut off.” She is also seeking support for another unborn child. After being outed on his lavish spending, Gilbert Arenas called into a radio show to dispute the lies: People facing expensive court battles usually keep quiet, but the former Wizard was awfully chatty in his call into our colleague Mike Wise’s 106.7 FM radio show. It’s all lies, Arenas claimed — except the bit about what Govan said he spends on his legendary shark tank. Yes, it’s really five grand a month: “I’d rather spend $5,000 on my fish than have a drinking problem.” The sharks, he claimed, have died, because of “somebody throwing pennies in the fish tank.” No names. Otherwise, he accused Govan of overhyping his finances. “If you look back at the last couple breakups of any NBA athlete… it’s a format they all go by to get more child support money… This is not ‘Basketball Wives.’… These girls got to stop living a fantasy world.” As for him: “You make bad choices as an adult, and we pick the wrong woman sometime.” Ouch. Govan did not reply by press time. These two are really something else. What we don’t understand is… if this fool kept putting you out every other weekend, why in the hell did you have 4 babies by him??? Source
