The Avengers soared to new heights over the weekend, blowing past the $1 billion barrier internationally and once again finishing atop the box office in the United States. The superhero blockbuster set another record in the process, finishing with the highest second weekend box office haul in Hollywood history: $102.3 million. Avatar had held the previous mark. It also set the pace by becoming the fastest film to ever earn more than $300 domestically, accomplishing the feat in nine days. Sorry, The Dark Knight . It’s now second place for you. Here’s a look at the top five biggest earners from the weekend: The Avengers : $103.2 million Dark Shadows – $28.2 million Think Like A Man : $6.3 million The Hunger Games : $4.4 million The Lucky One : $4.0 million

Think Like a Man Takes Bite Out of The Hunger Games

The ins and outs of dating proved to be more popular this weekend than teenager-on-teenager homicide, as the romantic comedy Think Like a Man finally ended The Hunger Games ‘ perch atop the box office. Think Like a Man Trailer The film, based on Steve Harvey’s bestselling advice book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man collected $33 million on Friday and Saturday, while Katniss and company could only muster $14.5 million. It actually fell to third place behind Zac Efron ‘s The Lucky One . The Hunger Games has now earned $356.9 million in the U.S., hitting that mark in just 30 days. Only seven other flick have ever passed that figure in less time. Here is a look at the top five from the weekend: Think Like a Man : $33.0 million The Lucky One : $22.8 million The Hunger Games : $14.5 million Chimpanzee : $10.2 million The Three Stooges : $9.2 million

Who Should Play Andrew Garfield’s Brother Happy in Broadway’s Death of a Salesman Reboot?

One of the grimmest plays of the 20th century, Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman , is returning to Broadway with Mike Nichols as director and a star-studded cast next spring: Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman is slated to play the tragic protagonist Willy Loman, Linda Emond will play his wife, and Social Network Perkins doppelganger Andrew Garfield will play Willy’s son Biff, which makes perfect sense because Garfield has the Malkovichian hair flip . That leaves Willy’s other son Happy up for casting. Who should it be?
