Plane Company Files Suit Against Steve Harvey For Refusing To Pay Up For Customized Private Jet

Steve Harvey Sued Over Private Jet Steve Harvey is in hot water with a jet company who claims that he promised to pay for a totally tricked out jet…then reneged on the offer. Via MailOnline : Business Aircraft Leasing Inc. of Nashville filed suit on Wednesday claiming that Harvey agreed to pay it $400,000 for customization of a Gulfstream jet that he ‘orally promised’ to lease for $97,000 a month. The company says it then hired another company, Florida-based Private Sky Aviation, to renovated the jet to make it seat 14 instead of 16, and customized the seat and interior design. The company then says that Harvey, 58, paid about half the money before skipping out on the tab. It wants the court to decide the exact cost at trial. The company is also suing One World Aviation, a company that Harvey owns or operates. Business Aircraft Leasing now has the Harvey-inspired jet up for lease on its website. Ehhh…we’re wondering how admissible an “oral promise” is in court. But he’s more than likely going to have to come up off that additional $205k. Being that it’s a private jet…how much fancier did he think he needed it to be?

Breaking News: Southwest Airlines Jet Crashes “Nose First” At LaGuardia Airport, 10 People Injured

Wow, this had to be so scary for the passengers . Southwest Airlines Jet Collapses According to The NY Post The front landing gear of a Southwest Airlines jet collapsed upon landing at LaGuardia Airport sending the nose of the Boeing 737 crashing to the tarmac. Ten passengers were treated at the scene. Six were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, said Thomas Bosco, Acting Director of Aviation for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The six crew members were taken to another hospital for observation. Southwest Flight 345 hit the tarmac “nose first” shortly before 6 p.m. on Runway 4, sending sparks flying all around the front of the jumbo jet, a source said. “There was no warning,” the source added, referring to the unexpected crash landing. Tom Marsala, 54, and his wife, Debra, were at the airport to pick up their daughter, Reena Posten, 21, and her husband, who were returning from Nashville to celebrate their second wedding anniversary. “She texted us, ‘Our plane just crashed, but we’re all OK,’” said Marsala. “I said, ‘What?’ I couldn’t believe it,” added Debra. Port Authority firefighting and rescue units raced to the scene and deployed fire retardant foam before quickly escorting frightened passengers and crew to safety, who descended onto the runway through emergency chutes. The cause of the mishap was unclear, Soutwest said. Flights arriving at LaGuardia were being rerouted to Newark and JFK. “We are gathering details and will post a statement soon,” a Southwest Airlines spokesman said in a tweet. Thank God no one died. A “Lil Positivity”: Florida Airport Worker Returns Lost iPad And $13,000 And Then Gives Away Reward Money… Would You??

Do the right thing! Florida Airport Worker Returns Money And iPad A cleaning service worker who returned an iPad containing $13,000 in cash he found at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport was honored for his honesty at an award ceremony Wednesday morning. Via NBC Miami reports: Patrick Morgan was working an early shift at the airport last month when he came across the iPad that had been left behind at a bar in one of the terminals. When he opened the case, he spotted the big wad of cash. “I opened it first and I see the money and I closed it back,” he said. Morgan, of Patrick’s Cleaning Service which works for Sunshine Cleaning Systems Inc., immediately turned in the iPad and cash to the airport communications center and Broward Sheriff’s Office substation. Minutes later, the owner, who had returned from a trip to Las Vegas, came back to the bar and Morgan told him where he could find the money and iPad. The iPad owner gave Morgan a $60 reward, which Morgan passed on to a homeless woman. At Wednesday’s ceremony, the Broward County Aviation Department honored Morgan for his honesty and hard work, and Sunshine Cleaning awarded him $625, which is equal to one week paid vacation. He says he’ll keep it. What a cheap SOB. $13k in cash and an iPad and he only gives the guy $60. Talk about paying it forward. The world needs more people like Patrick Morgan.

Study Estimates 8,000 Premature Deaths Per Year Caused by Unregulated Airplane Emissions

Image: ACS, Barrett et al. And That’s Just Cruise Emissions Researchers from MIT and the University of Cambridge in the UK have released a study that attributes about 8,000 premature deaths to emissions from airplanes at cruise altitudes. Landing and takeoff also produce a significant quantity of pollutants, but they are already regulated, while cruising at altitudes of over 3,000 feet isn’t (at least not worldwide)….
