Nicki Minaj’s New Boo Shows Off “Onika” Neck Tattoo Nicki Minaj took to Instagram Friday to show off just how much her new bae really loves her. In a video that shows Minaj next to Kenneth Petty, she zooms in on a fresh tattoo that says Nicki’s government name, “Onika”, in red and black ink. “Did your tat hurt,” Nicki asks in the video. “Naw, not at all,” he responds. It was the first time Petty got a tat. Nicki has been criticized by her Barbz for being so lovey-dovey with Petty, who has a long rap sheet . Petty was reportedly convicted on manslaughter and first-degree attempted rape charges and spent multiple years in jail. Petty isn’t the first man to show his love through ink. Safaree Samuels, who was in an almost decade-long relationship with Nicki, previously had a tattoo of the rapper. He eventually covered it up after the two broke up a few years ago.

Iggy Azalea Responds To Nicki’s “No Shade” Speech Even though Miss Minaj came out and (kind-of) said that her BET statement was not meant to tear down anyone in particular but inspire better in female emcees , streets are still talking and looking at Iggy for an official statement. Fans thought they may have caught just a teensy bit of response shade from her IG account earlier today when she celebrated her record-breaking success as a female hip-hop artist: Barbz and Iggy Fans (and the occasional residual Lil’ Kim fan) alike automatically called this some form of clapback at Nicki and debated in her comment section. Iggy always has something to say to her anonymous detractors , so in true form, she took to IG again to clear the air and let everyone know she’s scared not feeding into negativity from any source for any reason. Clearly she don’t want it. Not that we think she wouldn’t have gotten absolutely murdered by Nicki, but we think it may have been at least a little fun to watch the I-G-G-Y try to clap back on a track or make a no-shade commentary of her own. Tensions initially escalated over Minaj’s accusation that a fan site had leaked some of her tracks and culminated in the rapper’s deactivation of her account. This move came as a shock to many of her fans, as Minaj was one of the most followed Twitter users in the world (she had more followers than Oprah!) and constantly filled her timeline with personalized responses to individual fans. It seems that maintaining such an open dialogue with her fans may have backfired as she formulated her last frustrated tweets including, “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f—ing bye.” While having a Twitter following in the millions certainly comes with perks, the negative comments undoubtedly wear on stars. Chris Brown has deleted his account and his tweets on more than one occasion, after getting fed up with comments from other users about his personal life. Brown and Minaj aren’t alone: John Mayer , Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato have all been Twitter quitters at one point too. Celebs ditch Twitter for a variety of reasons — after a scandal, over backlash from ill-thought-out comments, or sometimes just to focus on their career and not get caught up in the constant flow of communication the social-networking site thrives on. But it seems just as difficult to stay away. Brown, Lovato and Cyrus have all since returned to the site, while Mayer currently has a working account with zero tweets logged. But how long does Minaj have to decide about coming back to her millions of Barbz? According to a source at Twitter, after a period of inactivity (several months of not logging in), a deactivated handle can be reassigned to another user. However, before anyone thinks they can snap up the @nickiminaj handle in a few months, with a verified celebrity account, Twitter works with the user before any action is taken. So whether Minaj ever returns, no one should count on grabbing that user name anytime soon.
