Jon Hamm Goes Through Emotional Ringer on Sesame Street

Those who watch Mad Men online or on television rarely see Don Draper express the feeling of guilt. Or frustration. Or amazement. This marketing genius is a pretty even-keeled fella, though we’ve obviously seen him be drunk and angry. But in a guest spot Sesame Street this week, Hamm shows off his acting range opposite Murray, teaching this character all about a variety of emotions. Watch now to see what we mean: Jon Hamm on Sesame Street Hamm, meanwhile, faced the emotion of embarrassment recently when a very old clip of him on a dating show hit the Internet a couple weeks ago. Star Trek Into Darkness Clip: Kirk and Harrison

Captain Kirk and the presumptive “John Harrison” confront each other in the latest  Star Trek Into Darkness clip . The scene feels pretty important, so if you’re not into watching that kind of thing before going to the theater, maybe sit this one out. Star Trek Into Darkness Clip Benedict Cumberbatch In the clip, Benedict Cumberbatch’s villain character tells Kirk, played by Chris Pine that there are truths that he will uncover, giving him coordinates to the place he’ll find them. Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Alice Eve, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, and Bruce Greenwood also star in the sci-fi sequel. J.J. Abrams directs the film, which will be released on May 17.

WATCH: ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Japanese Trailer − Does Spock Die In The Volcano?

If you simply must Hoover up any new footage of Star Trek Into Darkness footage that’s out there, then have a look at this Japanese trailer .  There are a few new morsels to be found in the footage, including a shot of Spock in the volcano looking perilously close to becoming one with the magma churning around him.   There’s also a scene of Peter Weller’s character, Admiral Marcus , telling someone to “run this bastard down.”  Presumably, he’s talking about Benedict Cumberbatch ‘s mayhem-causing character John Harrison, who’s getting high marks for his performance in early reviews of the J.J. Abrams -directed movie.  Here’s what  Lucy O’Brien wrote  on IGN : “Cumberbatch himself has never been better. While he’s proven his ability at volatile emotional-detachment with his role in Sherlock, he is, here, a true snake; an expressionless, sliver of a man whose mask only slips when he lunges for his prey. The Enterprise crew look trivial against him, their uniforms retro and goofy against his men’s magazine sleekness. Even Spock, quite the regal figure, looks small next to him.” Nice description, although in this clip, Spock doesn’t look small. He looks very, very hot: I’m not too worried about him though given this photo, which surfaced a few weeks ago: New ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Photo: Cold Chillin’ With Mr. Spock? What do you think? Paul Rudd’s Prank: Promises ‘Anchorman 2’ Clip On Conan But Delivers Mysterious Alien Creature

The cool thing about genuinely funny people is that they can get laughs out of doing the same thing over and over and over again. When mere mortals are intentionally repetitive, they usually get punched in the face. On Tuesday night, Paul Rudd appeared on Conan O’Brien’s TBS talk show with what he claimed was a clip from the highly anticipated Anchorman 2 . “This is going to go crazy viral,” said Conan, setting up what has been a running joke between the two men for a while now.  Instead of a glimpse into the world of Ron Burgundy and Brian Fantana , viewers at home were treated to the runaway wheelchair scene from Mac and Me , a clip that Rudd has used before on Conan’s show as a substitute for whatever movie he’s actually promoting. The best part: after Rudd apologized for belaboring the running gag, he did show an Anchorman 2 clip. Or did he? Rudd’s Running Gag In case your Anchorman 2 itch still needs to be scratched, here’s the teaser trailer, which is still funny all these months later. ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ TV Clip: Kirk Takes Center Stage

When the Star Trek Into Darkness   marketing campaign began in earnest late last year with a much-discussed teaser trailer, the debate was all about the villain:   Benedict Cumberbatch’s icy voiceover and acrobatic evildoing led to lots of theorizing that his mysterious character was Khan , Robert April and other Star Trek canon creeps . Four months later, with the release of the J.J. Abrams -directed film a little over a month away, a TV clip that debuted on Sunday continued to shift the spotlight from bad guy to good:  Captain James T. Kirk.   Actually, the transition began with the Star Trek Into Darkness international trailer that hit the web in late March. Although Cumberbatch’s character is prominent (and vicious) in the clip, Chris Pine’s Kirk emerges as the guy who’s going to break a lot of rules and sacrifice however many Starship Enterprise extras he needs to top Benny’s reign of terror. You can watch the transition via the embeds below: First Teaser Trailer Star Trek International Trailer The latest TV Clip: The key dialogue in that last clip begins with Kirk’s superior officer Christopher Pike ( Bruce Greenwood )  telling him: “Do you have any idea what a pain in the ass you are?”  then, later, adding: “But there’s greatness in you, Jim.” Okay, so it’s no surprise that the central conflict of STID is Kirk vs. Cumberbatch. Rather, it’s…marketing. As the clock ticks down to STID ‘s release date, it’s a way of preparing moviegoers who aren’t Star Trek geeks for what to expect at their local cineplex come May 16. What remains to be seen is whether future clips will put the emphasis on any other supporting characters, such as Spock , in the weeks to come. Follow Frank DiGiacomo on  Twitter.
