Chuck Berry Dies; Legendary Musician Was 90

Chuck Berry, the long-time musician who many credit with popularizing the entire genre of rock ‘n roll, died Saturday in Missouri, the St. Charles County police has confirmed. He was 90 years old. “St. Charles County police responded to a medical emergency on Buckner Road at approximately 12:40 p.m. today (Saturday, March 18),” the department said via statement this afternoon. The statement continued as follows: “Inside the home, first responders observed an unresponsive man and immediately administered lifesaving techniques. Unfortunately, the 90-year-old man could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at 1:26 p.m. “The St. Charles County Police Department sadly confirms the death of Charles Edward Anderson Berry Sr., better known as legendary musician Chuck Berry.” Concludes the post, which was written on Facebook:  “The family requests privacy during this time of bereavement.” The singing, guitar playing and general showmanship of Berry have often been credited as having enormous influence on Elvis Presley, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys, among other legends. The latter group’s “Surfin’ USA,” for example, so overly copied Berry’s song “Sweet Little Sixteen” that the rock pioneer complained and was eventually given a co-writing credit on the track. Berry performed for over seven decades. His best known hits likely remain Roll Over Beethoven, My Ding-a-Ling, Maybelline (his first real hit, released in 1955) and Johnny B. Goode. The latter was immortalized by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future, who basically emulated Berry’s moves on stage in that memorable movie. The veteran musician received a lifetime achievement Grammy Award in 1984 and was among the first inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. By the late 1970s, after years of success in the spotlight, Berry career took a nosedive. In 1979, was found guilty of tax evasion and sentenced to four months in prison. However, he remained a worshiped figure by the music icons he had inspired. When Keith Richards inducted Berry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, saying at the time that he “lifted every lick” that Berry ever played for himself. Upon learning of his death, motown group The Jacksons Tweeted the following: “Chuck Berry merged blues & swing into the phenomenon of early rock’n’roll. In music, he cast one of the longest shadows. Thank You Chuck.” Added Bruce Springsteen: “Chuck Berry was rock’s greatest practitioner, guitarist, and the greatest pure rock ‘n’ roll writer who ever lived. “This is a tremendous loss of a giant for the ages.” Expect many more tributes to follow. Berry had announced in October that he would actually release a new studio album some time in 2017. We send our condolences to those who knew Chuck Berry best. What a legend. May he rest in peace. Kat Graham Devours Pot Brownies, Ends Up in Hospital

Kat Graham took quite a few trips as Bonnie Bennett on The Vampire Diaries. Over the course of eight seasons, the character died multiple times, ended up on The Other Side, visited the show’s version of heaven and got involved in many dangerous storylines. But those were nothing compared to the actual trip this actress allegedly suffered in Palm Springs last month. According to TMZ, Graham was visiting Two Bunch Palms Resort & Spa near the aforementioned town when she allegedly began throwing up and passed out on a lawn. Insiders at the resort tell the typically reliable celebrity gossip website that the star didn’t drink too much alcohol or get victimized by a case of food poisoning. Instead, she ate a cannabis brownie earlier in the day. In response, Graham ran out of the resort’s restaurant shortly afterwards, telling those around her that she didn’t feel well and needed to go to the hospital. She then vomited… passed out… woke up … and was transported to a hospital via ambulance after someone called 911. TMZ has posted photos of Graham lying on the grass, clearly in an effed up state, both physically and mentally. The venue’s report says the actress/singer acted extremely paranoid throughout this incident, anxious and seeing things. No word from Graham or any of her reps yet regarding what happened last month. We just hope she’s okay. We watched every episode of The Vampire Diaries from the premiere and we always enormous fans of the star. She announced early last year that she would depart The Vampire Diaries after Season 8, which ended up becoming the show’s swan song. Its series finale aired last Friday, March 10. “I learned a lot about what kind of actor I wanted to be,” Graham told Entertainment Weekly of The CW hit, adding: “Work always comes first as an actor. I think a lot of young girls see actresses and they think of red carpets and they think of Us Weekly and they don’t really think about the breaking down of a script and what that requires and what you would need to pull it off. “I learned about teamwork and about communication and about standing up for yourself. “I learned about poise and dignity, and I learned about what it means to be an African-American in television and what that requires in terms of what kind of position you take for yourself and how you define your own reality in a world that is still finding its footing, to say the least.” She concluded this interview, which was given in February, as follows: “Overall, I am appreciative of the opportunity that I got to play different levels and different emotions for this character. I’m grateful for the platform I got.” View Slideshow: The Vampire Diaries Finale: 13 Shockers! Kush Chronic-les: Mexican Teenager May Be Deported After She Was Popped Selling Laced Brownies To Buy Prom Dress

Por dios… Teenage Girl Could Be Deported For Selling Weed Brownies At School Via CBS-Sacramento A Yuba City teenager is in danger of being deported after she tried to raise money for a prom dress by selling pot-laced brownies. Saira Munoz wanted to go to prom, but when she didn’t have money for a dress, she became an entrepreneur. “People make mistakes,” said Carlos Robles, a friend of the teen. But this mistake landed the River Valley High School student in handcuffs. Munoz, 18 at the time, decided to put on a school bake sale. There was an extra ingredient in her brownies: marijuana. She hired a fellow student to sell her brownies. She done turned her damn school into “The Carter” Her pot ploy fell apart when a student got sick and needed to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance. “I was hurt, because she got arrested, and nobody wanted to see somebody we cared about go away,” Robles said. Because Munoz hired a fellow student, she was charged with employing a minor to sell marijuana—a felony. Robles went to school with Munoz at River Valley High and remains friends with her. “She was just a very positive person,” he said. “I just don’t like the turnout of this,” he said. A judge sentenced her to four years probation on Monday and nine days in jail with credit for time served. Sounds like a reasonable punishment, but it actually gets worse Munoz also learned during her sentencing that she could be heading back home to Mexico. She came to the United States with temporary permission in 2000. After the Sutter County Probation Department called the feds about her conviction, she could now be deported. “No, there’s people that deserve to be deported, and she just wasn’t one of them,” Robles said. “There’s people that do way worse.” We get that she must have really wanted to go to prom, but she could have sold something legal to make money, lacing the brownies with that green yahmean just wasn’t real smart.
