Spray-On Caffeine: Actually a Thing!

Don’t like coffee? Can’t stand energy drinks? Well have we got a deal for you! Well, not us, rather Devin Soni and Ben Yu, Harvard graduates who suffer from the horrible affliction of caffeine sensitivity. They have found a way to deliver energy through a spray that you apply to your neck rather than having to drink coffee or guzzle Red Bull.  Check out their IndieGoGo video below! Sprayable Caffeine! Okay. I realize this is apparently a very super serious matter, to these guys at least, but surely I’m not the only one that kept expecting the Energizer Bunny to walk through this video or have someone jump through the screen yelling about energy. The voice-over sounded like it was narrating a story of a kitten lost in a snowstorm on a cold winter’s night only to be miraculously rescued by a kind soul… energized by spray caffeine.  Apparently there are plenty of people out there in need of spray energy in their lives as the duo’s IndieGoGo campaign not only met their campaign goal of $15,000 but have surpassed it. Just goes to show, people love products that fit 40 cups of coffee in one small and portable spray bottle.

‘Jersey Shore’ Star Deena Recalls Dirty-Dancing Past On ‘When I Was 17’

By James Dinh “Jersey Shore” star Deena appears on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV News Long before her fist-pumping days in Seaside Heights, “Jersey Shore” star Deena Nicole Cortese was already causing a commotion over her suggestive dance-floor skills. On the latest installment of MTV’s “When I Was 17,” the reality TV newcomer reminiscences about her dirty-dancing antics. “When I was 17, I quit cheerleading and started dancing,” Deena says on Saturday’s episode. “It was great because me and my one girlfriend were the captains of it, and we were, like, making up the dance moves. We got to pick out our outfits and I got to show my dance moves off. It kind of brought my music into the dance team.” With her newfound creative freedom, the New Jersey native whipped up a sassy dance routine. But the high school’s staff wasn’t too impressed with Deena’s choreography. “I remember making up this crazy dance move, like sexy moves, you know, like shaking your butt,” she admits. “Everybody was sitting there like, ‘Oh my God, where did that come from?’ ” Childhood friend Jaimie also remembers the controversy. “Our small town wasn’t ready for the dance moves that came out of Deena’s mind, and definitely made the teachers raise an eyebrow of what was going on,” she says. Despite the reaction of the faculty, the self-proclaimed “Energizer Bunny” says she really never understood why her routine was such a big deal. “[The teachers] were like, ‘Are they allowed to dance like that?’ I’m thinking to myself, ‘Yeah, we can dance like this,’ ” the reality starlet recalls. “It’s allowed. I’m not showing any boob or anything, it’s OK — God, open your windows,” she laughs at the memory. “There’s a lot out there.” “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Deena Cortese and Patrick Stump — premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV. By Eric Ditzian Deena Nicole Cortese Photo: Marc Stamas/ Getty Images “Jersey Shore” newcomer Deena Nicole Cortese recently told us she brings “a lot of positive energy to the show.” That’s at least partly true, if the first episode of the new season is any indication of what’s to come as the cast returns from a Miami Beach sojourn. The pint-size Jersey native brings the party from the moment she steps into the Seaside Heights house, declaring, alongside gal pal Snooki, “Party’s here!” We won’t say what happens next, except that there’s a whole lot of positive energy, followed by a seriously negative roomie vs. roomie blowout. But whether she’s kicking back in the rooftop hot tub or hurling insults at fellow castmates, there’s no doubt Deena is one heck of an entertaining addition to the hit reality show, which debuts Thursday at 10 p.m. ET . “I’m like an Energizer Bunny, and you never know what you’re going to get. It’s great,” Deena told MTV News. “I’m very kindhearted and I’m like a kid at heart. That’s just me. I love life and I show how much I love life. I’m just being myself.” And being herself, Deena maintains, means being nothing like ex-castmember Angelina Pivarnick (even if they’re both trained dental hygienists). “Me and Angelina have no similarities at all,” Deena said. “We’re very different. We’re completely opposite, like oil and vinegar. I’m very positive. There are ups and downs in the house, but I don’t provoke things. I just like everything to be a good time.
