Lady Gaga Tears Up While Singing With Fan Maria Aragon

Gaga brings YouTube star onstage with her during tour stop in Toronto. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga (file) Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage When 10-year-old Maria Aragon posted a video of herself on YouTube covering Lady Gaga’s latest pop smash, “Born This Way,” she probably had no idea what kind of opportunity the video would lead to. It all started on February 17, when Gaga tweeted her praise for the young singer’s cover of her track. “Can’t stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future,” she wrote. The love affair culminated in Gaga bringing the young Canadian fan onstage with her during her tour stop in Toronto. Gaga even posted a photo of them together backstage, making monster paws, each wearing T-shirts with the other’s image on it. Gaga shared, “Myself +10 year Old Lady Maria of Winnipeg. She signed my t-shirt, she ate my heart, just like you.” In footage posted online, the crowd went crazy as the young singer took the stage decked out in a black leather jacket, a pink hoodie, sparkling black leggings and high-top sneakers. Gaga gave her a big hug, then sat down at the piano and put the girl on her lap as they sang “Born This Way” together. “Maria represents what this song is all about,” Gaga told the excited crowd. “It’s all about the next generation and the future.” As the pair sang the track acoustically, Gaga became visibly moved by the performance and tears began to form in her eyes. When the song ended, Aragon held up her stuffed orange monkey as she told the crowd, “I just want to thank all of you for your support. I hope you enjoyed it. Also, a shout-out to all my friends in Winnipeg and my family.” Gaga continued to tear up as Aragon made her way offstage, telling the room, “Little monsters, thank Maria from Winnipeg.” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga

Justin Bieber’s Hairstylist Says They Knew Haircut Would ‘Shock Fans’

‘We knew it was going to be a big deal,’ Vanessa Price tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Neil Mockford/ Getty Images When Justin Bieber isn’t making headlines about his dates with Selena Gomez , he’s making hair-related news. This month alone his hairdo led to some healthy debate and then, earlier this week, it was learned that a lock of Bieber’s famous hair sold at auction for $40,668 (the proceeds went to charity). When MTV News caught up with Bieber’s hairstylist, Vanessa Price, she admitted that she was surprised the hair sold for that much money, but grateful that someone had the funds to help the Gentle Barn Foundation, an animal rescue organization in California. “It’s great and it’s for charity and how great is it that we have something that’s disposable that’s worth something,” she said. “It’s a lot of money, but like I said, we’re just so lucky that that’s happened.” The star’s shorn locks might end up doing a lot of good, but fans couldn’t initially get over Bieber’s decision to lop off those famous swooping bangs. “We knew it was going to be a big deal,” Price explained. “We knew it was going to shock fans, but we also knew it was going to be a change in terms of growing up. I think that’s something that people adjust to. “We’d been talking about it for a while and shared some ideas, but literally the day off he was adamant about the haircut. He amped himself up for it,” Price continued, before describing his momentary hesitation. “The minute we started cutting, he was like, ‘Wait, wait, wait.’ He loves it. He’s enjoying it.” Girls certainly have always been drawn to Bieber because of that signature ‘do (which she calls the 1.0), but Price says that his camp quickly got over any PR doubts that arose when the idea of the haircut was brought to them. “I mean, I’m not gonna say that everyone was 100 percent onboard,” she revealed. “But they trusted in Justin’s style and my abilities and they kind of held their breath.” These days, Bieber has readjusted his styling techniques for the shorter look. “With his hair before he didn’t require any product. It was super-easy and now that it was cut shorter and choppier, he wanted to be able to experiment,” she explained. “I’m not around all the time, but I definitely groomed him into learning how to do his own hair. “I don’t know if it’s more work but I told him it’s the ‘we don’t care haircut, just do it haircut,’ ” she continued. “The 1.0 version, it was cut a certain direction, it was cut to style. He’s loving it right now and he’s liking experimenting, so I think we’ll just see that it’s a natural evolution for any young adult.” Price says she’s only had positive feedback from his dedicated legion of Beliebers, much to her relief. “The only things I’ve heard were positive, so that makes me really happy because the fans were taken into consideration,” she said. “They’re a huge part. Without them, we wouldn’t be here. Since that haircut I have a fan club now. It’s all positive.” Related Photos Justin Bieber’s Famous Former Hair Related Artists Justin Bieber

Proceeds will benefit animal-rights group the Gentle Barn Foundation. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Michael Loccisano/ Getty Images Last week, shortly after the haircut heard ’round the world , Justin Bieber gave a lock of his famous hair to Ellen DeGeneres . The talk-show host graciously took the gift and promised to auction if off and give all the proceeds to charity. In addition to the lock of hair, Bieber also signed a plastic box in which the hair would be kept. On Wednesday (March 2), 98 bids later , the Bieber memorabilia had sold for $40,668. All the proceeds from the hair will go to the Gentle Barn Foundation , a California-based animal-rights organization. When Bieber appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to give the talk-show host the hair, he reassured her that it was, in fact, his. “Yes, it’s really my hair, but there’s a perk: I wanted to do something good. I’m giving pieces of it to different people,” he explained during the February 23 appearance. “The thing is, we’re doing something special. We want you to donate it to whatever charity you want.” He also joked about what inspired him to cut off his signature locks. “I was inspired by yours,” Bieber laughed. “Yeah [people were freaking out], but I was like, ‘I don’t really care.’ ” Perez Hilton was also one of the lucky hair recipients. On February 22, the blogger wrote, “Not only did Justin Bieber get a haircut, but the teen phenom tells us that he is going to be divvying up his shorn locks to help raise money for different charities. And, he’s giving Perez some of his hair to auction off! We’re working it all out now, and we can’t wait to tell you what good we hope to do with Bieber’s hair!” What do you think of the final price for Justin’s hair? Let us know in the comments! Justin Bieber Reveals Birthday Plans, Talks Haircut

‘I’m just going to relax,’ singer says of his plans. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber eating cheesecake Photo: Getty Images Justin Bieber turns 17 on March 1, and he’s revealing what his plans are for the big day. “I only have, like, four days, so I’m just going to relax, because I start my world tour starting on [March 4] — so just going to mentally prepare and just relax,” Justin told “Entertainment Tonight.” “No birthday bash. … Hopefully my grandparents will be out here and I’ll be able to spend time, a little bit, with them. My grandma makes the best cheesecake — cherry cheesecake. She made that for my 13th birthday.” Of course, Bieber’s birthday isn’t the only thing making headlines these days. His new haircut has also been causing quite the hoopla, but Bieber seems to be brushing it off. “I just wanted to [cut my hair], that’s all. Not really a big reason; I just woke up and said, ‘I don’t want this anymore,’ so I just cut it,” he said. “It’s not really about that. You know, the fans really liked it, but they’ll like me no matter what, because I think it’s about the music. I’m really excited to see what the fans overseas think and take it day by day.” Bieber will re-release his 3-D flick “Never Say Never” this weekend. “It’s 40 minutes of extra footage, so it’s basically like a new movie,” he says. “It’s real exciting, because it shows me and my friends more and it shows a different part of the concert, so it’s going to be great. Hopefully all the fans will go back and watch it.” Next week, in addition to his birthday, Bieber will also kick off his European tour . “I’m excited to see what [Willow Smith] brings to the table,” he said. “We start on March 4, so she’s really excited, and she told me that she can’t wait — and she’s adorable — so I can’t wait. “I have such great people around me and such good family,” he added. “I just want to be a good role model to people, and to be able to just make good music. … I’m going to make mistakes, but it’s about learning from them and becoming better. … My movie shows that anything is possible and dreams do come true. … Remember to always stay humble and always be gracious and anything can happen.” What do you think about Bieber’s new ‘do?
