The Internet Is Real Life: Milwaukee Teen Shot Dead After Facebook Feud Over Girl

14-Year-Old Killed In Milwaukee After Facebook Fight Over A Girl Can we PLEASE stop acting like the things that happen online don’t have real life consequences. The phrase “It’s just the internet” needs to be put to rest… Via Fox6 A 14-year-old boy is dead after a fight over a girl on Facebook led to a shooting near the intersection of N. Lake and E. Wyoming on Milwaukee’s east side. The shooting took place at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday night, July 3rd. Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn addressed the media and stated eight or nine shots were fired while officers were patrolling the U.S. Bank Fireworks on Milwaukee’s lakefront — just yards from the shooting. The 14-year-old boy was found pulseless after being shot in the head. Five officers in relay teams worked to save the boy. The officers were able to get a pulse back but the boy later died at Children’s Hospital. “Words can’t express our frustration,” said Chief Flynn in a news conference with reporters. “This is more than a crime wave, this is a social phenomenon.” Authorities say they do have leads in regards to the suspect who shot the boy — but no one is in custody at this time. R.I.P. to this young man, thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. Image via Shutterstock

Marshawn Lynch at Super Bowl Media Day: I’m Just Here So I Don’t Get Fined

Considering the way Tom Brady’s balls  have dominated the news cycle for the past week, you may have forgotten that there’s a football game to be played on Sunday.  #DeflateGate has served as evidence of just how weird our nation’s press coverage can get (particularly when you throw the Internet  into the mix).  Marshawn Lynch’s begrudging appearance at Super Bowl media day today served as yet another reminder that pro athletes and sports reporters are locked in a dead-heat to see who can be the most ridiculous. If you’re not familiar with Lynch, he’s a beast of a running back, but kind of a jackass as a human being. His history of bad behavior dates back to when Lynch ran a woman over and fled the scene during his time with the Buffalo Bills. Five years later, Lynch’s behavior is much less harmful, but no less idiotic. Already in hot water with the NFL for his refusal to speak to the media and his fondness for making “obscene gestures” on the field, Lynch was reportedly threatened with $500,000 fine if he didn’t show up to today’s press event. So he showed up. And proceeded to give the exact same answer 25 times: Marshawn Lynch: “I’m Just Here So I Won’t Get Fined” “I’m just here so I don’t get fined,” Lynch warned the reporters on hand. “So y’all can sit here and ask me all the questions y’all want to. I’m gonna answer with the same answer.” He wasn’t kidding. Beast Mode proceeded to say, “I’m here so I won’t get fined,” in response to every single question. Some members of the press expressed their frustration on Twitter, but really – weren’t they kinda playing ball by continuing to ask him questions? Say what you will about Lynch, if it weren’t for him, we wouldn’t have this nugget of YouTube gold: Marshawn Lynch: Hold My D! Sadly, he won’t be remembered as the source of the most epic Super Bowl XLIX quotes. Take it away, Tom: Tom Brady Defends Use of Balls 1. Don’t rub my balls! Leave that to me, please.

#PoorMichelle Williams Says She Doesn’t Understand Why Stans Are Obsessed With Her Beyonce Friendship

Michelle gives everyone the ho sit down! Michelle Says She Doesn’t Understand Beyonce Friendship Obsession Michelle Williams will always be the Black jelly bean of Destiny’s Child who folks absolutely LOVE to slander because, well, why NOT? The singer recently talked to TIME Magazine and discussed her frustration with fan’s constant fascination with Beyonce and her Destiny’s Step-Child sisters… “It seems to be a mystery, or a wonder, like, if we’re still friends or something. And I always wonder, what is the fascination? This is a genuine question. “Well, I’m so sorry to report—breaking news! We have very boring lives as far as that’s concerned. And once again, to even play off the Playtex campaign, to show togetherness and unity, you don’t have to be catty, you don’t have to be mean, you can support one another. “I’m just curious, like, we [Destiny’s Child] haven’t had an album out in 10 years. I’m just still wondering the fascination. And I’m not being mean or smart. That is a real question. Like, really?” #PoorMichelle

Random Ridiculousness: Man Fired After Posting His Paycheck On Instagram… “It’s Only Enough To Pay For My S****y, Third-World Studio Apartment.”

Should have kept his azz off of Instagram and hoped for a raise. Man Fired After Posting Paycheck On Instagram According to Mail Online A top salesman at Lacoste’s flagship New York store has claimed that he was fired for posting a picture of his paycheck on Instagram. Wade Groom, from Brooklyn, New York, told Gothamist that he was merely ‘expressing his frustration’ with the expensive cost of living in New York, not with Lacoste in particular, when he shared a zoomed-out image of his pay slip. ‘I was making as much as $1,500 a week selling shirts, but I’m not able to give my kids a better life, even if I’m working my butt off,’ he told the newspaper, explaining that he made $15 an hour and received a three per cent commission during his three months on the job. According to documents provided to MailOnline by Mr Groom, he was the top salesman at the store, having sold $39,315 worth of merchandise in his most profitable week on the job. Still, despite his success as a ‘helluva salesman’, he found that his wages were not enough to support his ex-wife and four-year-old twins in the expensive city of New York. Just two weeks after he posted the image of his paycheck, the HR manager at Lacoste informed him that the company was firing him because the photo infringed on their confidentiality agreement. ‘I was happy with my job,’ he insisted to Gothamist, adding: ‘[The photo] had nothing to do with how much money I was making.’ Indeed, he explained to Metro that it was ‘more sort of an artistic and personal statement, like I’m working my ass off and it’s only enough to pay for my s****y, third-world studio apartment.’ A spokesperson for Lacoste did not return requests for a comment. Now he has no job, a crappy apartment, twins and an ex-wife. SMH. Continue reading
