Bebe Rexha Blasts Designers For Shadily Shunning Her Size 6 Frame Because She’s “Too THICK”

Source: NBC / Getty Bebe Rexha’s Curvy Caucasian Bawwwdy Holding Her Back? Singer, songwriter Bebe Rexha is putting the fashion industry on blast for openly oppressing her curvacious body. The 29-year-old pop star recently scored a Grammy nomination for the best new artist categor and she’s finding it rather difficult to land a designer who will fit her for next month’s awards show. Bebe shared her frustration on Monday in a video posted to Twitter. “So, I finally get nominated at the Grammys and it’s like, the coolest thing ever. And a lot of times, artists will go and talk to designers and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet. I had my team hit out a lot of designers, and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. Literally, I’m too big,” Rexha lamented. “If a size 6/8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you. Then I don’t want to wear your f—ing dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy. You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses.” Im sorry, I had to get this off my chest. If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Anddddd My size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys. #LOVEYOURBODY pic.twitter.com/0nqdjXf0Dw — Bebe Rexha (@BebeRexha) January 21, 2019 SMH! That’s just ridiculous. After the post went up, Bebe scored support from fans and even from Tyra Banks, Ms. Body Positive! Tyra said Bebe was extra special and called the designers who passed up her frame DUMB. The day I met You n Toronto, I knew U were xtra special. R impromptu posing lesson backstage was MAJOR. You stuck that leg & hip out & Tooched & Smized at the same time. Those designers that don’t wanna dress U are DUMB. U my dear @BebeRexha are pure genius…H2T – head to toe! https://t.co/UwCGyIJTcB — Tyra Banks (@tyrabanks) January 22, 2019 What do you think about Bebe’s curves? Any suggestion on what she should wear to the show instead? More of her after the flip. Continue reading

Bette Midler Compares Women to the N-Word. For Real.

OOPS! Bette Midler's bad, folks. The legendary singer and actress Tweeted this week about the challenge women face in society (amidst debate over confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court because he may have committed sexual assault) when she likely went way too far. In what sense? What did people say about it? And what did she say as an apology? 1. Who is Bette Midler? Fair enough. We understand younger readers might not know, but she has been nominated for two Oscars and won several Grammys, Emmys and Golden Globes. She is an entertainment industry legend. 2. Okay. So What Did She Write? Yes. She went there. We understand her frustration, but, as you might expect, using THIS reference and THIS comparion has not sat well with…anyone. 3. The Internet Responds… 4. Well…Goodbye, Folks! 5. Just…What?!? 6. Enough About John Lennon! View Slideshow

Hendrix openly condemned that American soldiers were deploying napalm against civilians in Vietnam and used the guitar and the washed up anthem to express his frustration. When asked about his opinon on police, Jimi once said: “The world is nothing but a big gimmick, isn’t it? Napalm bombs, people getting burned up on TV. American cops? Oh man, it’s really great, man, they’ve got some really groovy uniforms, stripes down their pants. Clubs in their pockets—wow, outta sight. Guns!”   Nearly 50 years later and Colin Kaepernick still has to protest the same song.   But anyway, congrats to Carlos Santana and thanks for showing a whole new generation of kids what swagged out anthem would sound like. via GIPHY

Dan Bilzerian Wins Multi-Million Dollar Bicycle Race Bet!

Yesterday, we reported that professional poker player/hedge fund bro Dan Bilzerian had embarked on a 300-mile bicycle ride, with the intention of pedaling from his home in LA to the Las Vegas city limits in just 48 hours. Many doubted that such a feat could be accomplished by a 35-year-old with a notoriously hedonistic lifestyle and four heart attacks in his recent past (Full disclosure: We were among the doubters.),  But to the shock of many (and the dismay of at least a few high-rollers), Bilzerian has completed his journey well ahead of schedule, having reached the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign this morning. No official announcement has been made yet, but investor Bill Perkins, who bet Bilzerian $1.2 million that he couldn’t complete the trip in time posted the following tweet several hours before the deadline: “@DanBilzerian 25 miles away, controversial van removed 100ish miles out, no doubt Dan smoked this on a few drugs & adrenaline #EgoMotivation” The “controversial van” refers to a vehicle that Bilzerian had traveling in front of him in order to create a slipstream. The divisive “King of Instagram” also traveled with a masseuse, two chefs, a team of medical professionals and a full police escort. In addition to his wager with Perkins, Bilzerian reportedly had more than $1 million in side-bets on the line. If he had died on the road (a legitimate possibility due to his aforementioned health issues), Bilzerian’s private jet would’ve been handed over to entrepreneur and Paris Hilton sex tape star Rick Salomon.  Bilzerian – who claims he hadn’t been on a bike for nearly two decades prior to accepting the challenge – trained for several weeks with cycling legend Lance Armstrong in exchange for making a $25,000 donation to the charity of Armstrong’s choice. So if you’re considering attempting such a stunt yourself, remember that you probably can’t afford a team like Bilzerian’s – or the millions in bets that no doubt helped inspire him to reach the finish line.

Kanye West Accused of STEALING Jacket Design for Yeezy!

Kanye West once claimed he was OG, but it seems his designs are not. Photographer Jim Goldberg is accusing the rapper of ripping off a denim jacket that belonged to Tweeky Dave, a homeless, drug-addicted teen who was the subject of a book Goldberg published in 1995 entitled Raised By Wolves . The jacket in question is being sold for $400 at Kanye’s pop-up shop in Manhattan and features handwritten messages that appear to have been penned in permanent marker all over the front, back and sleeves.  Goldberg included an iconic photo of Dave’s jacket in the book, and Kanye wore a replica of the garment at New York Fashion Week in February. Both the original jacket (seen above on the left) and the one Kanye wore notably displayed the words “F**k off and die” in bold print underneath the back collar. The piece Kanye wore was designed by Australian artist Pauly Bonomelli, who credited Goldberg and the now-deceased Dave for his design inspiration.  However, when Kanye released similar jackets as part of his line, no credit was given. Goldberg, who now owns Dave’s original jacket, expressed his frustration with Yeezy in an interview with i-D magazine. “For the jacket to become sold as fashion – it really put me over the edge,” he said. “The spirit and intention of Kanye could be right, but the manner in which he is presenting it is wrong,” he added. “All meaning has been lost. [He’s] forgetting history – not acknowledging where that design came from is wrong.” The photographer drove the point home even further when he shared a pic of the Yeezy replicas on a rack to Instagram. “Tweeky Dave would be rolling over in his grave #yeezy #pablo #tlop,” he wrote in the caption. Black Girls Rock: Nubian Skin Founder Ade Hassan Named Fashion Entrepreneur Of The Year

Ade Hassan Named Fashion Entrepreneur Of The Year Ade Hassan, the beautiful and talented founder of a lingerie line for black women has been named fashion entrepreneur of the year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2015 this past week according to The Young Empire : “Happy Thanksgiving to all our US lovelies,” Ade Hassan, founder of Nubian Skin, wrote on the company’s Instagram profile today (Nov 26). “Feeling incredibly grateful today.” After only one year in business, Ade’s brainchild has been endorsed by the likes of Scandal star Kerry Washington and is stocked in five stores in the UK, two in Portugal and 21 stores in the US. It is also sold through nine websites online. The 31-year-old got the idea for Nubian Skin while sitting at her desk at her former job, which she described as a “corporate environment”. “Lingerie is the foundation of every woman’s wardrobe. Being able to have something that matches your skin tone helps you express yourself, and it makes you feel more comfortable in your skin – which is something that every woman should be able to feel,” Ade told XO Necole. For Ade, it was the frustration of not finding lingerie and hosiery that matched her complexion that helped her discover that there was more to life than underwear that didn’t match her skin. “I was working in a very corporate environment before Nubian Skin and there was always frustrations of either not finding panty hose that’s my colour or wearing shirts that were quite sheer, but not wanting to always wear a black camisole underneath,” Ade told XoNecole. “Or when you are in a business meeting and your strap is showing or you can tell that you have red bra under a white top; I didn’t want that, I wanted nude, but shops didn’t have my colour.” Congrats!!!!
