Ex-American Idol Star Accused of Carrying Just a Crapload of Drugs

As previously reported,  Antonella Barba was arrested in October on drug charges. Upon inital intel gathering, this crime seemed serious enough, as the former American Idol sensation was charged with a felony due to allegedly carrying over 100 grams of heroin. Yikes, right? But here’s the thing: It turns out the possible crime was actually far worse. According to newly unsealed court documents, Barba is accused of acting as a courier for a major drug ring when Virginia authorities arrested her nearly four months ago with two pounds of fentanyl. Yes, two pounds. While that figure may not be very high when pounds are typically used to measure something… trust us. That is simply a f-ck ton of fentanyl. (Fentanyl is a pain reliever for which one needs a prescription for legal use; it can cause respiratory distress and death when taken in high doses or when combined with other substances, especially alcohol. Prince, for example, died with high levels of fentanyl in his system .) Barba was indicted last week on 11 federal charges, including: – One count of conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl with the intent to distribute. – 10 counts of distribution or possession of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl with the intent to distribute. As of this writing, the ex-artist remains in police custody and will be held until at least Thursday, when she’s set to appear in court for a detention hearing. Barba advanced to the Top 16 of American Idol in 2007. She made headlines over a decade ago not just for her voice, but also because a bunch of explicit photos of the brunette emerged and circulated online while she battled for the title that eventually went to Jordin Sparks. For example, Barba gained notoriety for posing in a wet t-shirt in the fountain of the World War II Memorial in D.C. We aren’t about to post these X-rated images here, but she also allegedly was snapped while she giving someone oral sex. And it sounds like things haven’t improved a ton for the New Jersey native. The heavily-redacted indictment alleges that Barba was one of many members of a drug conspiracy that was active in Hampton Roads between late 2017 and the fall of 2018. This document states that Barba was delivering approximately 830 grams of fentanyl when she was arrested the morning of October 11. In 2012, Barba appeared on an episode of Fear Factor. She, along with a multitude other former American Idol stars, also participated in a “We Are the World” parody on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in May of last year. We hope she finds a way to turn her life around.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Accused of Animal Abuse at Wedding

To most observers, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are an adorable couple who is totally in love and who will be together forever. These fans were thrilled to see the stars get married last weekend . To PETA, however? To an organization that lives to call out celebrities in order to further its animal rights agenda? Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are disrespectful abusers who deserve to be shamed for what transpired on their big day. You see… the singe/actor and his bride actually wed in two ceremonies on Saturday: one Western and one traditional Hindu. This is typical for a couple that hails from divergent ethnic and religious backgrounds; and it’s really pretty sweet, being emblematic of two traditions being melded into one for all of eternity. But try telling that to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. A fan site shared a photo shortly after the Hindu-inspired ceremony of a white horse outfitted in red and gold, which Jonas used to make his grand entrance. There was also a white elephant with seat for two on its back present at the event. In response to the sight of these animals being used in such a manner, PETA has released the following statement: Priyanka was ill-served by not being advised of the firestorm that would be caused by participating in animal abuse. It doesn’t make a person look big or glamorous to promote cruelty to animals who have no choice but to serve. It makes them look small. Now, look, we love animals here at The Hollywood Gossip. Really, we do. We’ve been tearing up over this George H.W. Bush service dog photo for the last 24 hours straight. We’re all for PETA’s overall mission of protecting four-legged creatures and of ensuring that the world is a safe place for horses, cows, birds, canines, cats. Heck, every type of animal! We’re just not sure if slamming newlyweds for alleged “animal abuse” is really the way to accomplish their goal. The same way we weren’t sure about comparing meat-eating to rape back in the day. The group even acknowledged in this same statement that stars across the globe are generally very positive role models when it comes to their treatment of animals. “Overwhelmingly, these days, PETA is delighted to see so many celebrities who feel passionately about protecting animals,” PETA wrote. We’re guessing Nick and Priyanka should be included in this group. Riding a horse a few feet to honor your religion’s tradition is not a form of animal abuse. It’s just not.

Kylie Jenner: Accused of Child Abuse! For Real!

Kylie Jenner is probably a decent mom, right? We really haven’t seen much of her parenting in action, or any of it, really. Aside from a few selfies with Stormi and that admittedly precious video she shared about her pregnancy , she’s been pretty private about everything. But there are some things you just can’t help but notice, certain choices that Kylie’s been making as a mother. And one of those recent choices has gotten a lot of people riled up. Kylie was kind enough to share a new video and photo of Stormi earlier this week, and once you get over how precious that little baby is , you notice something. She’s got her ears pierced! She looks adorable, just like always , but people always have very strong feelings about piercing a baby’s ears. Those people were not shy in expressing their dismay. “Kylie Jenner’s baby has her ears pierced and I have lost every bit of respect I had for that girl that should be illegal,” one person tweeted. Another told her that she should “be ashamed” of herself, and that “this is utterly disgraceful.” “I think it’s f-cking awful that she’s pierced her baby’s ears as a fashion statement,” someone in Instagram complained, and another agreed, saying “I really don’t understand how people can put holes in their babies.” Because, as a Twitter user argued, “They’re kids for f-cks sake, why put them through unnecessary pain?” “Sorry but no just no,” yet another person declared. “Piercing a 5 month old childs ears is NOT cute it is called CHILD ABUSE. Shows that you are NOT fit to be a parent and should be investigated.” So … that’s a lot, right? We can probably all agree that getting a baby’s ears pierced isn’t actually child abuse, let’s start there. Sure, you may not agree with the idea, and you may even be outspoken about it like some of these people, but it’s not on the same level as actual abuse, at all. And, as plenty of people pointed out, getting your kid’s ears pierced at such a young age is normal for many, many people. “Y’all really mad at Kylie for getting her baby’s ears pierced?” one of those people asked. “That’s the first thing poc do after cutting the cord.” “I just read ppl complaining abt kylie jenner getting her 6month year old baby’s ears pierced and i feel like they’re all white,” another said. “Like pls i got mine done out of the womb.” From the point of view of a former baby in Stormi’s position, “I got mine pierced at 9 months and I PROMISE, I have never felt like my parents took my autonomy away from me. It’s truly not that serious.” And then, in one particularly strong argument, someone tweeted “People are upset Kylie Jenner pierced her 5 month old daughter’s ears. Wait until they find out what some people do to their sons penis 2-3 weeks after birth!” So maybe we can give Kylie a break on this one, just this once? Amy Roloff: Exploiting Jacob Roloff to Make Money Online?

For some reason (or many reasons, most of them invented), certain “fans” of Little People, Big World like to take aim at Amy Roloff. Usually, it’s for nothing more than imagined misdeeds. This time … well, they’re not imagining anything. The Little People, Big World matriarch definitely staged a photo op with her previously estranged son, family black sheep Jacob Roloff. And she used the otherwise endearing photo to … sell bread . As we all remember, Jacob Roloff has been taking baby steps towards repairing his relationship with his siblings and parents. And while it looks like Jacob Roloff and Audrey Roloff still don’t see eye-to-eye (and, quite frankly, may never), he’s definitely been bonding with his family. Particularly with his mom. They’ve shared some of their touching moments over social media over the past several months, which has been great to see. But this particular photo isn’t sitting too well with fans: On the surface, Amy and her youngest son are just eating side by side at the table. Okay, with some very prominently displayed bread.  Like, remember the old timey food pyramid and how like a quarter of what you were supposed to ingest was bread? This is that amount of bread. Amy’s caption raised some eyebrows when she wrote: “I just love when I get to hang out w/ my youngest son Jacob.” Sweet … and totally innocuous. So far. Then she writes: “Even more so when having some of Amy Roloff’s Little Kitchen Snickerdoodle Bread, Coffee, and hearing all about his Iceland trip w/ Isabel.” That’s … that’s such awkward, cringe-worthy product placement that most movies would turn down the money for it. “What a blast! Check out my January bread and other offerings at www.amyjroloff.com and Order some today! Enjoy! ” Don’t even get us started on her ridiculous tags at the end of the caption, which included the following tags: “#snickerdoodle #amyroloffslittlekitchen #amyssecondactcontinues .#lovetocookandbake #mylittlekitchen @AmyRoloffsLittleKitchen” Honestly, and we don’t say this to be mean, but it’s possible that Amy Roloff doesn’t know how tagging on Instagram works. If you take a group photo and somebody says “tag me,” it means, like, on the photo. Like Facebook tagging has worked since not long after Hurricane Katrina. The issue, of course, was that it seemed wildly disingenuous to a number of fans for Amy to turn what looks like a normal social gathering into a painfully awkward commercial for bread. Especially considering the reason that Jacob parted ways with his family in the first place. A couple of years ago, Jacob Roloff decided that he didn’t want to be on Little People, Big World anymore. In fact, he didn’t want to be around his family. He had a number of issues with his family – normal teen angst, combined with some very real grievances about how he was raised. Not everybody likes growing up on a farm. And the agnostic Roloff didn’t like being raised with zero religious choices , either. The final straw was the show, which he blasted as “phony” when he departed. If Jacob doesn’t like phony shows, how does he feel about staged get-togethers with mom? Clearly he agreed to it — sometimes it’s hard to say “no” to mom — but fans really let Amy have it in the comments. “I love my son but i also love my bread…both of which are for sale,” parodied one fan. “Can you ever take a picture without selling your expensive products. You are tooooo commercial!” This one sounded less like hate and more like feedback. “It’s awesome to see the 2 of you together, but does everything have to be a commercial?” That one’s definitely said lovingly. There were plenty of nice comments, too, and others defending Amy. Even Jacob stepped in to speak up for his mother, writing: ” I’ve actually never said filming ruined my childhood, only that it (obviously?) had, and continues to hold, a massive impact on my person now.” “In any case,” he adds, “being rude about a thing you want to change won’t do anything in the end – so please cool it, my moms bread is dank (that means good). ” Of course, not everyone likes Jacob, either. One commenter wrote in response: “He’s a little juvenile delinquent hates his family sorry SNOWFLAKE if you don’t like my post truth hurts” Our takeaway? People who leave internet comments can sometimes be nasty people who say cruel things that they’d never say in person. Groundbreaking stuff. It’s crystal clear that Jacob is fine with helping his mom sell bread, and more importantly, he values their relationship. He’s trying to repair his bond with his family. Olivia Nova: Porn Star Passes Away at 20

Just a few weeks ago, the adult film world was stunned by the death of August Ames , who took her own life at the age of 23. Now, another young starlet has been found dead, sending a second round of shockwaves through an already-reeling industry. According to Radar Online, the body of 20-year-old Olivia Nova was discovered in Las Vegas over the weekend. The actress and model’s cause of death remains unknown. Nova (real name Jennifer Severin) was a Minnesota native who entered the adult film industry in March of 2017. “She was a great person,” a friend tells Radar. “We’re missing her. Everyone is in shock.” “We’re trying to piece this together.” Though no official cause of death has been reported, those who knew Nova best say she struggled with depression and mental illness. Sources believe these plagued her throughout her short life, and signs were evident recently. She tweeted on Christmas Day: “Alone on the holidays and want to give a fan a holiday call. Would lift my spirits.”  It is widely believed that Nova entered a depressive period over the holidays, which tend to bring out strong emotions. Loved ones suspect that like Ames, the actress took her own life. (Again, this has not been confirmed as of this report). Ames’ death became particularly high profile due to the media’s interest in the possibility that her suicide was the result of cyber-bullying. She and Nova are sadly not the only adult film stars to pass away at shockingly young ages in recent months, however. Actresses Yurizan Beltran and Shyla Stylez both died recently, at the ages of 31 and 35, respectively. Substance abuse played a role in both of those deaths. LA Direct Models, the agency that represented Nova during her brief career, issued a statement earlier today. The message read: “While only represented by Direct Models for a short period of time, we came to know Olivia as a beautiful girl with a very sweet and gentle personality.” “It is understood next of kin have been informed.” “Another one, way too young we are beyond shocked and most certainly, completely out of the blue.” “Rest in peace, sweet angel.” We’ll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available. Stan Lee: Comics Legend Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Unless you’re a film buff or actually work in the entertainment industry, a few of the sex monsters named in #MeToo stories probably prompted some googling. Even of the names you recognized, you probably only liked a couple. But sometimes, even the most beloved figures are accused of doing heinous, inexcusable things. Stan Lee, the comics legends who is almost synonymous with superheroes, has been accused of sexual misconduct. Stan Lee was the editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics for many years. He’s credited with having created Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Incredible Hulk amoung countless other superheroes. He has one of, and perhaps the, most recognizable names in the entire comics industry. His cameos in most live-action Marvel properties are beloved by fans. For years, when the 95-year-old Stan Lee’s name has trended on Twitter, fans have tensed and then breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that he’s still alive. A lot of celebrity deaths get “announced” on Twitter. This time, though he’s still very much alive, fans didn’t get to breathe a sign of relief. This news might be worse than fans had feared. The Daily Mail reports that Stan Lee is accused of multiple forms of sexual misconduct directs towards much younger women at his L.A. mansion. A nursing company that was providing at-home care for him (he is, again, 95 years old) reportedly stopped working with him after receiving a series of complaints about his inappropriate behavior. Young female nurses alleged that he: -groped them -demanded oral sex from them in the shower and asked to be “pleasured” in the bedroom -walked around his home naked while the nurses were present According to The Daily Mail ‘s source: “Stan is an old man who has seemingly lost his way.” That implies that he wasn’t always like this, which is great to hear. “He doesn’t seem to care what people think of him, he’s lost his filter.” Suggesting that this horrible behavior was brought about by dementia rather than the sort of power trip that accused monsters like Harvey Weinstein seemed to enjoy. “There has been a stream of young nurses coming to his house in West Hollywood and he has been sexually harassing them. He finds it funny.” It’s not funny. We have a feeling that the Stan Lee 10 years ago, or 30, wouldn’t have found it funny. “He walks around naked and is vulgar towards the women, he asks them for oral sex in the shower and wants to be pleasured in his bedroom. He uses the word p—y and f–k in their presence.” The source continues: “He’s also very handsy and has groped some of the women, it’s unacceptable behavior, especially from an icon like Stan.” No one should be groped without their consent, by anyone. “The owner at the nursing company has openly said to people that Stan has sexually harassed every single nurse that has been to the house.” It sounds like she was warning people. “That got back to Lee and sparked this whole thing.” There’s a cease-and-desist letter that the nursing company has received, and we’ll get to that in a moment. “It appears the owner, who has nursed Stan herself, eventually decided enough was enough.” Stan Lee now has nurses provided by a new nursing company; these nurses are tasks with taking his blood pressure, bringing him food and drinks, and ensuring that he takes his medication. Stan Lee’s attorney Tom Lallas, who has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the nursing company from which these claims originate, says: “Mr. Lee categorically denies these false and despicable allegations and he fully intends to fight to protect his stellar good name and impeccable character.” So, in other words, Tom Lallas is doing his job. “We are not aware of anyone filing a civil action, or reporting these issues to the police, which for any genuine claim would be the more appropriate way for it to be handled.” Not everyone goes to police. Or wants to go public. Did you know that one of Roy Moore’s accusers had her house burned down? Stan Lee is a very popular man with a lot of passionate fans. “Instead, Mr. Lee has received demands to pay money and threats that if he does not do so, the accuser will go to the media.” That’s … something that we’d like to hear more of. Who allegedly tried to blackmail him, exactly? Which of the many, many nurses? “Mr Lee will not be extorted or blackmailed, and will pay no money to anyone because he has done absolutely nothing wrong.” Stan Lee’s wife Joan Lee passed away just last summer at 93. Stan Lee and the media empire that he helped to create — remember, the Marvel movie franchise is the most financially successful film franchise in history — has a lot of passionate fans who are going to have strong opinions. To us, based upon these allegations, this sounds like a sad story. Not a story of a monster, though we’ve heard so many of those recently, but a man who has literally lost his self-control. Christina Aguilera: Latest Instagram Pic Sparks Plastic Surgery Rumors

Christina Aguilera has sported many different looks over the years. We’ve seen her Disney days, her regrettable “Xtina” phase, a few seasons of The Voice where she looked so bored we wondered how long she’d be able to continue sitting upright … the list goes on and on. But it seems Christina still has some tricks up her sleeve, because these days, she’s showing fans a look they’ve definitely never seen before. Aguilera posted the above pic to Instagram recently, and amidst the usual DM requests from Saudi princes was a slew of comments about the singer’s allegedly altered appearance. In fact, Christina’s followers basically declared a one-sided roast battle and attempted to outdo one another with the most clever putdown: “What the actual f–k did #ChristinaAguilera do to her face?!! She looks [like] a blow up doll of Lindsay Lohan!” reads one of the remarks collected by Life & Style . “Here’s hoping Christina Aguilera’s new album is as big a creative departure as her new face is!” wrote another user. With followers like these, who needs, um … whatever the opposite of a follower is! Christina sang at the AMAs  over the weekend, and yet again, her so-called fans were not particularly kind. “OMG POOR XTINA! Girl what did you do to your face??” one fan commented on Twitter. “Agh! Christina Aguilera’s lips at the #AMAs! She definitely didn’t need any of that.” A third dropped this painfully back-handed compliment: “Christina is the last person on the planet who needs plastic surgery. I wish she’d calm down with all the fillers and injections.” Fortunately, Aguilera still has plenty of defenders in her corner: “Christina does not deserve your rude comments!” wrote one Chris Crocker -like warrior. “She is against bullying, This is wrong. You are wrong. It was so heartbreaking to see all the comments on Christina’s latest post.” That’s an important point but even if, for some bizarre reason, Christina were pro -bullying, she still wouldn’t be a fan of negative comments directed at her . We’re pretty sure no one enjoys logging into social media to find that a bunch of strangers have a problem with their appearance. Sadly, it’s not an uncommon experience these days.

Nick Carter: Accused of Rape by Melissa Schuman

Nick Carter is the latest Hollywood figure to be accused of sexual harassment or misconduct. And the allegations against the Backstreet Boys member are as serious as it gets. In a lengthy post on her personal blog, Melissa Schuman – an artist who was part of the early 2000s all-girls group Dream – alleges that Carter raped her when she was 18 years old and he was 22. Schuman’s message is emotional and, at times, graphic. In it, Schuman claims she was received an invitation to Carter’s home during a day off from the film in which they were both starring. After arriving at his apartment with a friend, she explains how the pair listened to the singer’s new album before he supposedly brought her into the bathroom. This is when she claims they started kissing. Schuman writes that she virgin at the time of this incident. She claims Carter started unbuttoning her pants, ignoring her objections before allegedly performing oral sex on her. Carter is accused of then demanding a blow job from the singer. “My thought was the only way to get out was to get him to finish what he had started,” Schuman says. Schuman writes that Carter then led her to the bedroom and raped her. “I felt scared and trapped. He was visually and clearly growing very angry and impatient with me. I couldn’t leave,” she writes, adding in painful detail: “It was evident to me, that I couldn’t leave.” “He was stronger and much bigger than me, and there was no way I would be able to open that door or have anyone help me.” “My friend couldn’t help me, I didn’t even know where she was.” “So when he placed my hand on his penis my thought was the only way to get out was to get him to finish what he had started. “That’s where I saw myself, my reflection, watching myself do something that I was sicken by. “Watching myself be assaulted, forced to engage in an act against my will.” She continues of Carter: “He was relentless, refusing to take my no’s for an answer.” “He was heavy, too heavy to get out from under him. Then I felt it, he put something inside of me.” Unbelievable. And it gets worse … “I asked him,” she recalls, chillingly, “what it was and he whispered in my ear once more …” “It’s all me baby.” How disgusting. Schuman didn’t tell anyone about this encounter for years. She even sang a duet with Carter at one point, prior to losing interest in music as a career path. And she concludes: “We are stronger in numbers. If you are reading this and you have been assaulted, know you don’t have to be silent and you are not alone.” “I know it’s scary. I’m scared.” “I believe you. I stand with you and together I hope we can bring light to things that have been lost in the darkness for so long.” Schuman ends her post with the hashtag “#metoo.” Carter is yet to address this allegation.
