Wait, what?! 5 Arrested For DUI After Atlanta Man Is Hit Walking Onto The Highway Via AJC At least five people involved in an early morning, seven-car pile-up on I-75 have been charged with drunken driving, police said. The pedestrian who police believe started the chain of wrecks was also charged, Clayton County Police spokeswoman Officer Danielle Rosa said. “The pedestrian started walking into the interstate,” Rosa said. “That’s what kind of caused the seven-car pile-up.” The pedestrian, who was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, faces a pedestrian in roadway charge, police said. Shortly after 3 a.m., the pedestrian entered the southbound side of I-75 at C.W. Grant Parkway just north of I-285 near the exit to the international concourse of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and was struck by a vehicle. Six other vehicles subsequently collided in an apparent chain-reaction pile-up, police said, that blocked all lanes of the southbound highway past 8:30 a.m. Sir, WTF are you doing?? The five drivers charged with driving under the influence were immediately taken to the Clayton County Jail, she said. It is unclear whether the accused drivers were coming from the same place. Police traffic investigators and troopers from the Georgia State Patrol investigated the scene, and it was cleared by 9 a.m., authorities said. The arrested were identified by the State Patrol and Clayton County Police as: William Scott Kirk II, 23 of McDonough, charged with DUI and following too close; Najm Martinez, 33, of East Point, charged with DUI and driving less safe; Joseph Daise, 23, of Jonesboro, charged with DUI; Tawan Hayes, 38, of Riverdale, following too close and DUI. Another man, Joshua Noble, also was charged with DUI, said Sgt. Kevin Hughes, spokesman for the Clayton County Police Department. No additional information was immediately available on Noble. Via AJC reports : Georgia State was ranked as the fastest growing Sugar Baby School in the nation by a dating web site that connects wealthy men with cash-strapped female co-eds. Seekingarrangement.com reported Monday a 58 percent increase in the number of college students who signed up in 2012. Georgia State had 292 new sign-ups, the most of any school in the nation. University of Georgia came in at No. 8 with 148 new users. “Georgia State prides itself on fostering an enterprising and entrepreneurial spirit among its students,” said Don Hale, vice president for public relations and marketing communications. “We are surely surprised to see it manifested in this way by these women.” The average student received $3,000 a month in “allowances and gifts,” according to a news release. You can’t be serious… The Klan Applies To Adopt A Highway In North Georgia The Ku Klux Klan has applied to adopt a stretch of highway in northern Georgia, setting off a battle between a state representative condemning the application and the group’s ardent but anonymous leaders. “The state of Georgia is absolutely shameful in even considering an application from the KKK,” Democratic Georgia State Representative Tyrone Brooks told ABCNews.com. “If the state will accept an application from the KKK, we may as well get ready to accept applications from the Nazi party, Taliban, Al Qaeda and Aryan Nation.” The group, the International Keystone Knights of the KKK, denied Brooks’ comments. “What we’re trying to do is something positive and this Tyrone Brooks is trying to raise a stink about it. We just want to do something good for the community,” a representative of the KKK group, who would only agree to be identified as the “Imperial Wizard,” told ABCNews.com. The man was adamant that his real name not be used, in order to protect his job and family, he said. “[Brooks is] coming out and calling the Klan a terrorist organization. Prove it in black and white that the U.S. government has labeled us a terrorist organization,” the Imperial Wizard said. “Prove it. He needs to prove it. I challenge him.” When attempting to defend the Klan’s history of violence and hate the “Grand Wizard” says: “I’m a separatist. I’m not a racist. I believe in the separation of the races.
