In another instance of harmony in post-racial America, a white Aryan Nations member joined forces with a black gang member to distribute methamphetamine in Missouri, according to federal investigators: The partnership between white supremacist Richard Treis, 38, and Robert “Biz” Swinney, 22, was torn asunder by an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration probe that resulted in this month’s indictment of Treis, Swinney, and five codefendants on a variety of drug distribution and conspiracy charges. According to investigators, Swinney allegedly marshaled a network of friends, relatives, and fellow gang members in St. Louis to purchase decongestants containing pseudoephedrine from various stores. Swinney then allegedly sold the pseudoephedrine to Treis, who cooked it down into meth. If convicted of the various felony charges, each man faces decades in prison. Just when you thought the controversy would finally come to an end… This morning the official word came down that Rihanna and Chris Brown will be collaborating on a remix to her song “Cake”. The announcement stirred up a isht-storm of controversy that seemed to re-ignite the fire that was lit more than 3 years ago when we first learned that Rih-Rih had caught Breezy’s fade. Many folks still feel that Chris Brown needs to be FURTHER punished for his actions and should not be basking in the glory of public forgiveness. Billboard Magazine seems to agree with that general line of thinking and decided to pen and open letter to the two love-struck superstars in order to help them see the “error of their ways”. Virginia keeps getting more and more backwards. And their new abortion law is just insane. This week, the Virginia state Legislature passed a bill that would require women to have an ultrasound before they may have an abortion. Because the great majority of abortions occur during the first 12 weeks, that means most women will be forced to have a transvaginal procedure, in which a probe is inserted into the vagina, and then moved around until an ultrasound image is produced. Since a proposed amendment to the bill—a provision that would have had the patient consent to this bodily intrusion or allowed the physician to opt not to do the vaginal ultrasound—failed on 64-34 vote, the law provides that women seeking an abortion in Virginia will be forcibly penetrated for no medical reason. What’s more, a provision of the law that has received almost no media attention would ensure that a certification by the doctor that the patient either did or didn’t “avail herself of the opportunity” to view the ultrasound or listen to the fetal heartbeat will go into the woman’s medical record. Whether she wants it there or not. So if you want an abortion in Virginia, you’ll be forcibly penetrated whether you really want it or not – by an ultrasound probing device. The point is to shame women into hearing heartbeats and seeing their child before having the abortion. Then it’ll go on their records.
