Randy Blythe Released From Jail on Bond; Still Faces Manslaughter Charge

Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe has been released from a Prague jail , but is still charged with manslaughter stemming from the 2010 death of a fan. Released Thursday, the 41-year-old musician had spent the past five weeks in a Czech prison after being arrested and charged with the felony offense. Over the objection of prosecutors, who wanted him held without bail for fears he will leave the country and never return, Blythe posted $400,000 bail. The bizarre case started two years ago during a Lamb of God concert, when Blythe allegedly pushed the man who jumped on stage back off the stage. This caused him to sustain head injuries from which he later died. When the band returned to Prague on June 27, 2012, Randy Blythe was arrested. Blythe has maintained his innocence through the ordeal, telling a newspaper from behind bars, “I don’t know anything about any sort of incident.” “I did not attack anyone,” he said. “The only way I could have come into contact with anyone from the audience was if I was protecting myself.” “I remember very few details, mainly because I have played a lot of concerts,” he said. “I just remember that the stage at the club was very small.” “We barely managed to fit our equipment on there. Also, apparently there was a security guard there because many people climbed onto the stage, including one small boy, in particular, but I could be mixing up details with other clubs.” After scrapping all tour dates due to his incarceration, Blythe’s bandmates raised funds for his legal defense, calling the situation “maddening.” With Blythe now back on board, the band has already agreed to resume touring in the U.S. It’s unclear whether he’ll be back in Prague, ever. ‘RapFix Live’ To Celebrate 20th Anniversary Of ‘Juice’

Naughty by Nature and Khalil Kain will join Sway to celebrate the influential film. By Rob Markman “Juice” Photo: Paramount When director Ernest Dickerson released “Juice” on January 17, 1992, he effectively changed hip-hop’s relationship with Hollywood. Twenty years later, “RapFix Live” will celebrate the game-changing movie on Wednesday with co-star Khalil Kain and Naughty by Nature, the hip-hop trio who contributed to the soundtrack. Starring Kain, Omar Epps, Samuel L. Jackson and Tupac Shakur in his first starring role, “Juice” told the story of four Harlem youths who try desperately to overcome the treacherous pull of the streets. Though Tupac had a cameo in 1991’s “Nothing But Trouble,” his true acting debut came when he first put his acting chops on display playing the maniacal Bishop. Co-star Kain played the more level-headed Raheem Porter. Before “Juice,” there weren’t many movies that effectively captured the harsh realities of the inner-city ghettos. With the exception of 1991’s “Boyz N the Hood,” these street tales were often left untold. The movie’s soundtrack was also groundbreaking, featuring classic hip-hop cuts like Eric B. & Rakim’s “Juice (Know the Ledge),” Too $hort’s “So You Want to Be a Gangster” and Naughty by Nature’s “Uptown Anthem.” During their appearance on “RapFix Live,” Naughty by Nature will talk about the lasting influence of the film, the soundtrack and working with Shakur. That’s not all. “X Factor” rapper Astro will also join Sway on the “RapFix Live” couch and reveal which label he will sign his first record deal with. Catch Naughty by Nature, Khalil Kain and Astro on “RapFix Live” Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. Exclusive: Shyne And Diddy Reconcile Over The Phone

‘We gonna get together in a couple of weeks and we gonna sit at the roundtable,’ Shyne tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Shyne Photo: MTV News Shyne has had to overcome a lot. When he first emerged on the scene, the baritone-voiced Brooklyn MC hurdled over Notorious B.I.G. comparisons by releasing hits like “Bad Boyz” and “Bonnie & Shyne,” but that was small potatoes. The rapper did an almost nine-year prison bid after being convicted of assault and gun possession in the now infamous Club New York shooting in 1999. Now, Shyne has buried the hatchet with Sean “Diddy” Combs , who was also charged in the incident but was acquitted. In a Skype call from Paris with MTV News on Tuesday (January 17), Shyne revealed that he and Diddy recently talked over the phone and plan to meet in the coming weeks. “As far as Puff is concerned, that’s been a long time coming,” Shyne exclusively told MTV News of the conversation he and the Bad Boy CEO had earlier this month. “He had reached out to me twice while I was in the pen, but I just wasn’t ready for it.” The Shyne we see today is a far cry from the suited-up, oversize-baseball-cap-wearing youth that the world watched strut in and out of court during his 2000 trial. Now Shyne — who legally changed his name to Moses Levi while he was in prison and has practiced Judaism for a number of years — wears a white robe with the Star of David on the chest and the long side curls often associated with Hasidic Jews. The rapper’s physical appearance isn’t the only difference: Over the years, Po hasn’t talked about Puff in the most positive breath, often criticizing the music mogul and calling him a snitch during and after the Club New York trial. “I felt how I felt, I said what I said. In retrospect, when you looked at the way he handled it, he held it down, he wore it,” Shyne said of Diddy. “He ain’t had nothing to say; always had good things to say. It was always, ‘Yo, whatever Shyne need, we got him.’ ” During his incarceration, Shyne wasn’t ready to reconcile, but after he had a dream about their mutual friend Anthony “Wolf” Jones, he reached out to Diddy. “Our relationship wasn’t just business; it wasn’t me just being a rapper on Bad Boy. We had a solid relationship, we had a brotherhood, me, him and Wolf, and I just felt the need to just reach out, because again, he just kept it tall no matter what I said,” Shyne explained. Shyne wouldn’t elaborate on the details of his and Combs’ conversation, but he did walk away from the call in a much more positive place. “For me, the conversation was a confirmation of what I felt. Son kept it super tall, and that’s what it’s about. When a man says, ‘Listen, as a man, I make mistakes and I own that.’ What could you do?” Well what can they do? Surely the two can get back into the studio, but Shyne didn’t dish on any new musical developments. He did reveal that the two plan to have a second conversation, this time in person. “I just feel real good about moving on with our relationship. Me and son, we gonna get together in Paris — I’m in Paris right now. We gonna get together in a couple of weeks, and we gonna sit at the roundtable.” What do you think of Shyne and Diddy’s reconciliation? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Shyne Diddy

Lil Wayne Proud Of Drake, Nicki Minaj VMA Moments

‘It’s like you being a senior and you’re watching the freshmen come in,’ Wayne tells MTV News before Sunday’s show. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Rahman Dukes Drake performing at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images This time last year Lil Wayne was behind bars as VMA weekend festivities were kicking off — not that his incarceration dampened his spirits. The Young Money CEO had Nicki Minaj and Drake to root for. “I think it meant a whole lot more for me to see them onstage than it means for me to even be onstage this year, because I know they want this so bad and this is what they do it for,” Wayne said of his artists’ 2010 VMA moments versus his own involvement this year. Last year, Nicki performed “Check It Out” with will.i.am during the VMA Pre-Show, wearing in a cotton candy-colored wig and form-fitting purple catsuit. Her YM cohort Drake had a hell of a night himself as he partnered with Swizz Beatz and Mary J. Blige to give a Frank Sinatra-inspired big show performance of his Thank Me Later single “Fancy.” Wayne’s musical director Gil Smith promises a ‘rock star’ performance. This year, while the Harajuku Barbie and Drizzy are scheduled to attend, it’s Wayne who’s planning a major moment. Not only is his “6 Foot 7 Foot” up for Best Hip-Hop Video , but Weezy will perform and then release the digital version of his long-awaited Tha Carter IV LP when the clock strikes midnight . Still, for Tunechi, watching his Young Money team participate is rewarding enough. “They’re young, they’re fresh, and it’s beautiful to them,” Weezy said. “It’s like you being a senior and you’re watching the freshmen come in and enjoy the light. You remember, man, I remember being a freshman — that was amazing … to see them do that, I felt relieved like, ‘This is what it is all about, this is what it’s for.’ ” What are you hoping Wayne performs at the 2011 VMAs? Tell us in the comments! The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. Lil’ Kim ‘Bothered’ By Onetime Friend Diddy

‘Puffy never came to see me in prison, not one time,’ she tells ‘RapFix Live.’ By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Sway Calloway Lil’ Kim on RapFix Live Photo: Rich Sancho/ MTV News Lil’ Kim has plenty to talk about besides rap nemesis Nicki Minaj. While speaking to Sway Calloway during MTV News’ “RapFix Live,” the Queen Bee talked about running with Sean “Diddy” Combs, despite never being signed to his Bad Boy Records. “Biggie did bring me to Puffy,” Kim told MTV News. “He said, ‘She’s too pretty to be rapping. Female rappers don’t look like her. What am I supposed to do with her?’ ” But apparently Diddy, who also passed on signing Junior M.A.F.I.A., had a change of heart when the Notorious B.I.G. played him Lil’ Kim’s debut album, Hardcore. Diddy insisted he be part of the album, jumping on “No Time,” Hardcore ‘s lead single, which at one point was supposed to be a remix of Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s “Get Money.” Kim went on to say that she and Diddy, who has recently worked with Nicki Minaj, no longer speak. “The only problem I had with Puffy is that you see this girl taking shots at me,” Kim said, referring to Nicki. “Even on your own record [Dirty Money’s ‘Hello Good Morning’] she took a shot at me … and you didn’t stop that? If this was me years ago, he would have been doing everything if it was somebody he was working with or had a relationship with and he got money with or whatever, he would be like, ‘That can’t go out!’ ” Kim also mentioned that, during her incarceration for federal perjury between 2005 and 2006, Diddy was nowhere to be found. “I’m bothered by his actions, because I rolled with Puffy to the bitter end, and still would have rolled with him,” Kim said. “Puffy never came to see me in prison, not one time. He didn’t write me a letter. He didn’t say, ‘Here’s a number for Kim to call,’ not one time. “Then, because of your little business situations over there with Cash Money and Rick Ross and all of them, you’re going to go see Wayne?” she continued, referring to Diddy’s surprise visit to Lil Wayne on Rikers Island last year. Lil Wayne ‘Didn’t Understand’ His #7 Hottest MCs Ranking

‘Label me what you wanna label me,’ Weezy says during radio interview. By Alvin Blanco Lil Wayne Photo: John Parra/ WireImage Even while he was in the midst of his eight-month stay on Rikers Island, Lil Wayne still managed to land at #7 on MTV News’ 2010 Hottest MCs in the Game list. Weezy appeared on satellite-radio channel Shade 45 on Tuesday (December 14) and talked about what he considered to be a pretty low ranking. Host DJ Drama said he heard rumblings that, despite his incarceration, Wayne should have been higher on the list. Lil Wayne was #1 on the list in 2007 and had been in the top five until this year. Drama asked the rapper whether he was upset about where he fell on 2010’s list. “I was, I’m not gonna front, I was,” Weezy admitted. “I didn’t understand it. Somebody tried to explain it to me, like, ‘Nah, it was a list about this.’ They was trying to tell me it was some kinda, l don’t know. … It’s all good. Label me what you wanna label me; everybody know them n—as ain’t f—ing with me, man.” Drama then pointed out that Lil Wayne prot
