DMX: Released From Prison After One Year Behind Bars!

Stop, drop, pick up your belongings and show these papers to the officer at the front gate. Yes folks, it’s been almost one full year since DMX reported to prison to begin serving time on tax evasion charges. (You may recall that he memorably played one of his songs for the sentencing judge before being sent upstate.) And today, the canine rapper is once again a free man. Yes, X was released from prison today after serving 10 months of a one year sentence. (He was denied bail prior to his sentence, and thus, spent most of the past year behind bars.) The rapper was convicted of failing to pay taxes on $2.3 million in earnings. It may seem foolish to try and bilk Uncle Sam when you’ve been raking in seven figures for decades, but it’s important to remember that DMX has 15 kids to support . And in this case, the time inside may have been a blessing in disguise. DMX suffered an overdose that nearly claimed his life in 2016. The rapper says despite the obvious risk to his health, he continued using in the wake of his brush with death. He told the judge in his case that his decision to commit tax fraud was the result of his substance abuse. “I was in a cloud. I was in a cloud. I wasn’t thinking straight,” an emotional X (real name Earl Simmons) said in court. So what does the 48 father of 15 (?!?!?!) plan to do now that he’s a free man? Well, it seems Simmons’ first order of business is court-ordered outpatient addiction counseling. Beyond that, he says he’d like to release another album and take a second shot at reality TV stardom. Specifically, he says he wants to make a second appearance on Iyanla Vanzant’s Fix My Life . X famously stormed off set and told the life coach to “shut the f-ck” up during his first appearance on the show. But these days, Simmons says he’s a changed man and would like the opportunity to prove he’s open to taking advice. Hey, we’re all about comeback stories. And when it comes to second chance, X, we’re gon give it to ya.

Mike Sorrentino: Prison Release Date FINALLY Revealed!

As you’ve likely heard by now, Mike Sorrentino began his prison sentence earlier this week. Back in January of 2018,  Sorrentino pled guilty to charges that he had failed to pay taxes on more than $9 million in earnings.  Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months behind bars, and today, Radar Online has confirmed that his release date is scheduled for September 13 of this year. Of course, prison release dates are rarely set in stone, particularly when the inmate in question is a celebrity who seems to have truly dedicated himself to rehabilitation and self-improvement in the months prior to his sentence. Federal prison consultant Dan Wise confirms that The Sitch will likely be sprung well ahead of schedule. But that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be permitted to head straight home: “On such a short sentence of 8 months they will send him to a halfway house for two to three months at the end,” Wise claims . “Because of who he is, he may even get home confinement.” Yes, Mike is likely to serve a shorter sentence largely because he’s famous. That’s not to say that he’s receiving preferential treatment because of his celebrity status (although that could certainly be the case). The reasons why a parole board might prefer to grant Sorrentino an early release have more to do with the fact that celebrities are thought to be risky distractions by prison officials. If anything should happen to Mike, a lot of people who prefer to keep low profiles would suddenly find themselves making national headlines. Add that to the fact that Sorrentino’s sobriety and philanthropic work has been well-documented by MTV camera crews, and it’s not hard to see why Mike might be a prime candidate for early release. All he has to do now is keep is nose clean and serve his time quietly. According to Sorrentino’s wife, Lauren Pesce, that’s exactly what he’s been doing. Pesce tweeted an update to fans from Mike’s account earlier this week: “Mike would like to thank all of his fans worldwide for the unbelievable outpouring of love & support,” she wrote. “We speak everyday & he’s doing great. He’s received thousands of letters, he won’t be able to respond to everyone but wanted to express his gratitude to each and every one of you,” Lauren added. “Thank you from the both of us; it is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time.” Here’s hoping Mike’s time on the inside is as brief and uneventful as possible. Mike Sorrentino is Killing It in Prison, Wife Claims

The Situation is making the best of an awful situation. According to Mrs. The Situation, that is. In the two days since Mike Sorrentino reported to prison – to begin an eight-month sentence after pleading guilty to tax evasion – the veteran Jersey Shore star has received an outpouring of support. So says his wife, Lauren, in a status update she provided for fans via Twitter. “Hi Everyone, it’s Lauren. Mike would like to thank all of his fans worldwide for the unbelievable outpouring of love & support,” she wrote on this social media platform last night.” She continued as follows: “We speak everyday & he’s doing great. He’s received thousands of letters, he won’t be able to respond to everyone but wanted to express his gratitude. “To each and everyone of you. Thank you from the both of us; it is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time.  Lots of Love, Michael & Lauren Sorrentino.” Sorrentino pleaded guilty to lying about millions of dollars in earnings last January. He was then sentenced to the aforementioned stint behind bars in October and reported to the clink this week. Throughout this ordeal, the MTV personality has not made any excuses for his behavior or really looked for sympathy at all from fans. He’s just trying to do his time at Otisville Federal Correctional Institution and move forward. It helps, of course, to have Lauren by his side — even if can’t give her any of his man meat during any conjugal visits . The newlyweds got married in November and she has remaiined nothing but positive and helpful while her husband deals with repaying society for his crime. After he completes the eight months, Sorrentino will have two years of supervised release and 500 hours of community service. This is in addition to a $10,000 fine and $123,000 in restitution, which he has already paid. Sorrentino and his brother, Marc, were each indicted way back in September of 2014 for tax offenses and conspiring to defraud the United States. They were accused at that time of failing to properly pay taxes on $8.9 million in income from 2010 to 2012. In April of 2017, the siblings were then indicted on additional charges including tax evasion, structuring and falsifying records. Mike pled guilty to one count of tax evasion early last year, while Marc pled guilty to one count of aiding in the preparation of a false and fraudulent tax return. Last week, prior to becoming a ward of the state, Sorrentino gave a sweet shout-out to his wife on Instagram in celebration of her birthday, writing: Happy Birthday to my wife, my love, My Laurens. You are beautiful inside & out and I’m very grateful to have you in my life. You make me a better person and I promise to make you proud to call yourself Mrs. Sorrentino. Happy Birthday. The Situation really does appear to have found a good one here. Mike Sorrentino Celebrates 3 Years of Sobriety Prior to Prison Sentence

When Jersey Shore fans first met Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, he was a cocaine-fueled party monster who lived to create drama. These days, Mike has done a complete 180 and turned his life around in truly admirable fashion. Unfortunately, in the eyes of the criminal justice system, The Sitch still has much to atone for. Back in Sorrentino pled guilty to tax fraud . Federal investigators allege that the 36-year-old had failed to pay taxes on more than $9 million in earnings. In October,  Sorrentino was sentenced to 8 months in prison. He’ll be able to spend the holidays with his family but must turn himself in to authorities on January 15. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Mike recently celebrated a major victory in his battle against substance abuse. Mike posted the above photo to Instagram this week, allowing with the following caption: “Big daddy Sitch celebrating 3 years of sobriety & teaming up with @discoveryinstitute_nj to bring a holiday meal to Phoenix Recovery House in Eatontown NJ for Christmas,” Sorrentino wrote. Yes, in case you had any doubt that The Sitch is a changed man, he decided to celebrate his sobriety to giving back to others. In his latest Instagram story, Mike wrote, “2019 will be your year of advancement … God is taking you to another level.” Despite the hardships ahead, it seems Mike is genuinely optimistic about his future — and with good reason. Last month,  Sorrentino married Lauren Pesce , the college sweetheart, whom he’s been dating on and off for more than 15 years. “He just wants to get his time done, come home and start his life over. The wedding has been a great distraction for him,” a source told Us Weekly just prior to the wedding. “He and Lauren are just focusing on getting ready for their wedding,” the insider adds. “Once it’s done, he really wants to spend as much time as he can with her before he leaves. “He’s looking forward to working up until he goes away.” We hope he’s been able to do exactly that in the weeks to come. We wish Mike all the best in his continued recovery. View Slideshow: Mike Sorrentino Posts Honeymoon Pics Ahead of Prison Sentence

He then locked the men up in the bathroom and sexually assaulted the women. Authorities used DNA to identify Powell as a suspect.
