Issa Rae Says Season 3 Of ‘Insecure’ Will Focus On Toxic Masculinity

The rest is here:

Source: Taylor Hill / Getty Issa Rae and her successful HBO series Insecure has become a part of pop culture and gave an inside look at Black culture never before seen in mainstream media. Rae says that the upcoming third season of her show will pull a hot topic directly from social media and turn a focus onto toxic masculinity in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter . THR reports: What themes do you want to explore in the next season? I don’t want to give anything away! But I love black masculinity as it relates to black women. I think that’s something interesting that we haven’t gotten a chance to explore yet — and specifically toxic male black masculinity as it relates to black women. I’m trying to find a way to explore that and get a rounded storyline that isn’t preachy. What else can you tease about season three? This season is about adulting in a new way. I think we’ve watched our characters really fumble and fuck up — and in some ways in your 20s you are allowed that — but this season is about not acting like you’re naive anymore or that you don’t know better. So it is about, what does it look like to know better and to do better? Check out the full interview here . — Photo: Getty

Yummy Or Yuck: Taco Bell Launches Fried Chicken Shell For All You Chubby Lumpkins

Taco Bell Launches Fried Chicken Shell Taco Bell is planning to take over all summer 16 by launching a fried chicken taco shell. Yes, in real life according to Buzzfeed reports: Taco Bell customers were introduced to a new concept: a taco shell made of fried chicken, used to make what was then dubbed the “Naked Crispy Chicken Taco.” It was the Tex-Mex chain’s response to KFC’s Double Down, a sandwich that uses fried chicken fillets for buns. This creation was offered only as a small test in Bakersfield, California. It later made its way to restaurants in Kansas City in mid-April. And it’s not over yet. Taco Bell told BuzzFeed News that the product — renamed the “Naked Chicken Chalupa” following the successful launch of the Quesalupa earlier this year — hasn’t been approved for a national launch yet, but things are looking good. It’s still in test mode, but “the results and consumer feedback are very encouraging,” according to a spokesperson. “We’re just planning what’s the right the timing,” Kat Garcia, Taco Bell’s senior manager of marketing, said. Yummy or yuck on yuck?!?!

Jay Z: Did He Give Pharrell Williams a Black Eye?!

As you may have heard, Jay Z’s music-streaming service Tidal isn’t doing so hot. It’s almost as though people weren’t crazy about the idea of shelling out more than they pay for Spotify just so some millionaire celebs could get even righer. Go figure! Anyway, Jay is reportedly embarrassed by Tidal’s failure, and sources say he’s been lashing out at some of the A-listers involved – sometimes literally. Pharrell Williams has been spotted rocking a black eye recently, and there have been rumors within the music industry that Jay knocked Pharrell cold after the latter tried to back out of his contract with Tidal. It may seem like a wild accusation to level at one of the successful moguls in hip hop, but before he matured into the laid-back family man we know today, Jay was known to get caught up in some occasional violence. (And no, we’re not talking about his elevator scuffle with Solange Knowles .) Several sources claimed to have witnessed the scuffle, but reps for both artists say it never happened. Pharrell’s people are telling TMZ that the black eye is the result of his wife accidentally hitting him in the face with a spatula. This may sound crazy, but we believe him. It’s one of those situations where if the man wanted to lie, he’d come up with a more believable story.
