Rasheed Powell,43, was told by the judge “your reign of terror ends here” when he dropped the sentence. Powell was convicted in March on 60 counts, including aggravated sexual assault and robbery charges.     Prosecutors say the assaults occurred  in 2012 at motels in Linden and Elizabeth, NJ. They say Powell stalked couples as they entered their rooms, then forced his way inside and made them perform sexual acts on each other. He then locked the men up in the bathroom and sexually assaulted the women. Authorities used DNA to identify Powell as a suspect.

Team Spirit? The Young Turks Ask Why Cops Can’t Approach Black Protesters The Same Way They Deal With White College Kids [Video]

Why can’t police behave the same way for Black protesters as they do for White post-game rioters? Five thousand students took to the streets and rioted near the Cal campus after a football game was either won or lost, and of course lots of alcohol was consumed. Fires were started and cars were destroyed. But how did cops react to this violent crowd? “Did they roll in the tanks like they did in Ferguson, and they do in other minority communities? No. No use of force by the police…” “In Ferguson, in other places, don’t they usually come out and go ‘this community, what are they doing, why are they rioting…’ when it’s White people, ‘no, no, you can’t blame all White people…’” “I’m glad the cops didn’t overreact. Can we just then take that standard and also apply it to Black people where you go after the people who actually committed the assaults and not pepper spray and baton everybody and then blame it on them?” YouTube

Robert Pattinson Lacks Confidence

In Remember Me , Robert Pattinson plays Tyler. He’s a straight shooter, someone that’s confident in his ability to attract the opposite sex. Considering his appearance, one would assume Pattinson possesses this same trait in real life. But one would be mistaken. “When it comes to the opposite sex, I’m not as fully confident as [Tyler,” the actor tells Parade in its latest issue. “I don’t even remember the last time I asked someone out on a date… I’m much more self-conscious and not wanting to fail. So I tend to hold back.” That may have something to do with the fact that he doesn’t need to, of course. Rob is dating Kristen Stewart . As for Robert’s ultimate goal? He touched on that, and a few other topics, in the magazine interview : On his personal ambition : You keep trying to make your name stand for something other than just like meaningless celebrity. It’s a difficult battle, but I think people like Johnny Depp have done that. He’s not judged by his public image, it’s just his acting that counts. To get to that place takes a lot of discipline and a lot of hiding. On box office pressure : People always used to ask me about typecasting and I never had to really worry about it. You think people will judge you by your work. But the truth is, it’s about whether the film you’re in makes money or not. On his past : I got beaten up by a lot of people when I was younger. I was a bit of an idiot, but I always thought the assaults were unprovoked. It was after I first started acting and I liked to behave like an actor, or how I thought an actor was supposed to be, and that apparently provoked a lot of people into hitting me.
