Source: Paul Archuleta / Getty Chrisley Knows Best Stars Indicted On Tax Evasion The government does not play when it comes to taxes. Unfortunately, reality stars Todd and wife Julie Chrisley learned that the hard way on Tuesday after a grand jury indicted them on tax evasion charges.According to reports , Todd tried to launch a preemptive strike against a looming federal indictment, so officials went ahead and charged the couple with multiple federal crimes. The indictment, which was filed in the Northern District of Georgia, charged both Julie and Todd with 11 counts related to bank fraud and tax evasion. If convicted, the couple could face up to 30 years behind bars. The Blast , who broke the story, reports: “Officials claim Todd and Julie set up a production company, called 7C’s Productions, which served as a loan-out company for all the money earned through their popular reality show, “Chrisley Knows Best,” which airs on the USA Network. The documents claim millions of dollars were deposited into the production company account over the years, but the reality stars did not file tax returns in time for 2014, 2015 or 2016.” The couple has yet to speak out since the charges dropped, but Todd did post a cryptic message on Instagram before the news broke. Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram / Getty David Irving Retires From NFL Over Marijuana Policy *hits blunt* stand on what you believe in, patna. Dallas Cowboys ball-, well, former, Dallas Cowboys baller David Irving is officially done with the NFL. The defensive tackle is only 25-years-old, but he refuses to conform to the league’s substance abuse policy, not because he’s a dope fiend, but because he’s a man of principle. Irving announced his retirement from the league this past Thursday on Instagram live as he sparked a J and blew copious kush clouds in the air. Obviously, people who are living check-to-check have a whole lot to say about David tossing millions of dollars away because he wants so stay on the weeeeeeeeee-duh, but its really bigger than that according to what he told TMZ Sports . What do you think of David’s decision?
Source: Getty / Getty In today’s edition of “people are wild, yo”, a Romanian man was sentenced to four years in prison on Thursday for actually attempting to smuggle 10 vietnamese citizens in an old refrigerator — including eight children. 45-year old Ciprian Scorteanu was stopped by Border Patrol at Port of Hull after police noticed his goods vehicle was suspiciously heavy. After questioning Scorteanu, officers decided to impound his trailer for 48 hours in order to do a thorough search. The suspect was allowed to leave the port for a couple of days as his tractor trailer was being investigated, and that’s when ish got real. Metro News reports: Just hours after letting him go, officers made an alarming discovery after noticing steam coming from the roof of the trailer’s refrigeration unit. The façade of the unit was removed and inside, officers found 10 people, including eight children, hiding inside a specially adapted fridge. Mark Robinson, Humberside assistant director for Border Force said: ‘This was a deliberate attempt to bypass the UK’s border controls. ‘The trailer had been adapted for the sole purpose of smuggling.’ Allegedly, the men in the fridge were once denied entry to the U.K. and being smuggled was their last attempt to get in. On March 7, Scorteanu was sentenced to four years and six months for the crime. The eight children were sent to child protective services. Damn.
You can add Bobby Shmurda to the list of folks who want nothing to do with Tekashia69 after his November arrest. VladTV interviewed Bobby via phone and reminded him that 69 is fully cooperating with police before asking whether or not he’d do another track with the rainbow haired rapper. Bobby, who was featured on 69’s chart topping track “Stoopid”, didn’t hesitate to answer, saying: “Hell m****ck*ng no! I don’t even want to be next to that man—I’m good. These m*****ckers would have everybody locked up. That’s why I tell these kids, too: These entertainers they just entertainers. They ain’t living that shit they be talking.” Bobby added that he avoided snitching in his case by taking more prison time. However, he says that he’ll be a free man in 20 months and it’s “gonna be a movie”. Meanwhile, Tekashi’s sentence went from a minimum of 47 years to him being released in 2020 thanks to the terms of his recent plea deal. Should be an interesting two years for hip hop.
