In cased you missed Quick Silva’s Vitamin of the day….The vitamin was “The goal is to win in real life not just on social media.” When it comes to social media we love to show people our best….but what exactly does it mean to be popping on social media, if your real life doesn’t reflect what you portray. Quick urged that you make sure you reality matches your social media.
The Super Bowl Half time show controversy continues to roll on. Some of our favorite artists turned down the prestigious performance. People like Cardi B and Rihanna turned it down to stand in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. When news broke that Travis Scott was on board to join Maroon 5 the hip hop community clapped back quickly. Early reports said that Travis and Colin had a conversation and Kaepernick “Okayed” the performance. It was easy to assume that was part of his plan because Travis made the NFL agree to donate $500,000 to a social justice organization. Well friends close to the Ex NFL players are setting the record straight about the conversation between Travis and Colin. Reports are saying that the timeline tells a better story of what happened. TMZ is reporting that Travis received the offer from the NFL and before he accepted he and Colin jumped on a call about the situation. Sources close to both of them said that the conversation was cordial but they agreed to disagree. Colin urged Travis not to perform at the Super Bowl but Travis ultimately made the decision to opt with performing. Once outlets begin to report that they had a conversation and Colin gave Travis is blessing, his girlfriend and radio personality Nessa SHUT THAT DOWN! Source: Chip Somodevilla / Getty Travis Scott might seriously want to reconsider his upcoming participation in this year’s Super Bowl halftime show . With Meek Mill and Jay-Z reportedly not fond of the idea, Al Sharpton is the latest big name calling out the Astroworld rapper. Rev Al didn’t bite his tongue and pretty much called Scott a hypocrite for allegedly accepting the gig while speaking with TMZ . “I think anyone that goes into the halftime show is in effect directly violating those that want to raise the question that the NFL should come to terms with what they have done and continue to do to Colin Kaepernick and those that protest on criminal justice issues.” “You can’t tell people to stand for those that take a knee and don’t go to the games and then say ‘but somebody ought to perform there and entertain. You’re drawing TV viewers, you’re bringing supporters, and I think that you can’t have it both ways. You can’t help people market something and then turn around and say you agree with the people protesting.” “I think he should do what a lot of other major artists have done: say ‘I’m not going to participate.’ You can’t fight against Jim Crow and then go sit in the back of the bus. ” Well, tell him how you really feel Rev. The Super Bowl halftime show is currently having issues locking down talent. Maroon 5 is reportedly locked in but have not been confirmed yet, Cardi B who is featured on a song with the band was rumored to be joining them, but that looks like it won’t be the case . It’s quite clear nobody wants Scott to do the show, and it would entirely put a stain on what was a stellar year for the rapper. You can see Sharpton eloquently slam Travis in the clip below. — Photo: Chip Somodevilla / Getty
Being as wonderful as she is beautiful, Rihanna passed on the Super Bowl Halftime Show in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. Travis Scott cannot say the same, and has reportedly agreed to perform with Maroon 5. Everyone is pissed, including Al Sharpton, who calls out Travis for selling out. TMZ caught up with famed and controversial civil rights advocate Al Shaprton and got his opinion on Travis Scott's potential Halftime gig. “I think anyone that goes into the halftime show is in effect directly violating,” Al Sharpton begins. He continues: “those that want to raise the question that the NFL should come to terms with what they have done and continue to do to Colin Kaepernick” “And,” Sharpton continues, it would put them in opposition with “those that protest on criminal justice issues.” In other words, if you put on a show at the behest of an organziation that penalizes and punishes civil rights advocates, you're not the good guy. “You can't tell people to stand for those that take a knee and don't go to the games,” Sharpton continues. He says: “And then say 'but somebody ought to perform there and entertain.'” That's pretty fair. “You're drawing TV viewers, you're bringing supporters,” he points out. Performing at the Halftime show in 2019 would be an endorsement of NFL. Who wants that on their conscience? “And,” Sharpton reasons. “I think that you can't have it both ways,” The TMZ interviewer, hoping for a little more words from Sharpton, then poses some complicated questions. For instance, could Travis potentially take the gig, but use the platform to Famously, Beyonce took charge of the Halftime show in 2016 for exactly that purpose. But that was when Kaepernick was still part of the NFL. Now, he claims that the NFL colluded to force him out. “You can’t help people market something,” Sharpton says. “And then turn around and say you agree with the people protesting.” Sharpton has some advice for Travis Scott. “I think he should do what a lot of other major artists have done,” he suggests. Sharpton recommends that Travis “say 'I'm not going to participate.’” Travis is a father now, and has to decide what sort of man he wants to be and what sort of world he wants to help make for baby Stormi. “You can't fight against Jim Crow and then go sit in the back of the bus,” Sharpton explains. He makes a lot of statements, but to be fair, the guy made his case very well for a man who's standing in the rain. Travis Scott came under fire over the weekend after an old interview resurfaced. In 2014, long before he was Kylie's famous baby daddy, he gave a radio interview about the infamous murder of Michael Brown in Ferguson. “I'm kind of angry,” Travis said at the time. “So many black people are acting like fake activists.” “I'm not saying that he deserved to get killed,” Travis clarified. “But,” Travis continued. “I'm not saying he didn't deserve to pay for consequences he probably inflicted.” In that same old interview, Travis continued, referring to “the problem with black people.” He disliked the disruption in Ferguson that followed Brown's murder. “And I know we're like 'fed up' … with whatever is going on in the culture,” Travis said. “But at the same time,” Travis continued. “You gotta just stop putting yourself in positions where you're continuously having this situation go down.” Many of his fans felt betrayed reading those words. Don't do crimes is a fine message in general, but not an acceptable response when a man is extrajudicially executed in the street. Now, Travis made these comments more than four years ago. A lot of people's ideas change over time. Ferguson was a huge catalyst for changing the nation's understanding of the shootings of unarmed black people. But Travis accepting the Halftime show after everything may mean that he still hasn't changed his mind — or hasn't changed it enough. Maybe he'll surprise us all. But reports say that Jay-Z is personally trying to persuade Travis to turn down the offer.
T he NFL has effectively banned Colin Kaepernick from playing in the pro football league simply because he peacefully exercised his constitutional right to protest. The rich white men at the Super Bowl and CBS, including the creepy Les Moonves , attempted to destroy Janet Jackson’s career over a wardrobe malfunction in 2004 — and Justin Timberlake walked away unscathed. Therefore, the Super Bowl does not deserve one millisecond of Black artists during their Halftime Show… unless you are Kylie Jenner’s baby’s father, Travis Scott . Luckily, Jay Z was reportedly trying to talk some sense into him. SEE ALSO: Some No Name, Pitchy R&B Singer Disrespected Keith Sweat And Gets Demolished On Twitter Overrated pop band Maroon 5 agreed to perform at the Super Bowl in February and allegedly asked several Black artists to perform, too. Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Andre 3000, Cardi B, Usher and Nicki Minaj all reportedly said no. Rihanna gave a hard no back in October and even P!nk declined . But yesterday it was announced that Travis Scott said yes, and the rapper was promptly trampled by social media . Now, Jay Z is trying to save any credibility Scott has in the Black community by attempting to convince him to not perform. Variety.com reported that two sources were claiming Jay Z was reaching out to Scott. Neither Jay’s or Travis’ camp confirmed the reports, which probably means it’s true. Sadly, there probably isn’t much Jay can say to the 26-year-old. Even Maroon 5 has ignored a Change.org petition, which has more than 75,000 signatures , to not perform. Thankfully, Philly rapper and budding social media icon Meek Mill is not here for any Super Bowl foolishness. When it was rumored he was going to perform, he quickly shut that down: If Travis does perform, which he probably will, good luck with having a career in the Make America Great Again fanbase. Source: Kyle Goldberg / GlobalGrind.com According to ESPN, Astroworld’s own Travis Scott will be joining Maroon 5 on the lineup for the Super Bowl LIII halftime show. Some of his counterparts aren’t too happy with his decision, but he will certainly help bring an edge to an otherwise bland performance lineup. Rappers like Meek Mill have expressed on twitter that Travis doesn’t need this performance, hoping that he drops out. But, if he does perform, we know he’s going to steal the show! Travis was recently nominated for a Grammy for best rap performance and best rap song. He also spent a week at #1 on Billboards Hot 100. Should Travis perform at the Super Bowl LIII halftime show? Source: Jeff Kravitz / Getty Kylie Jenner Backs Her Baby Daddy Up In Social Media Pettiness Claims Kylie Jenner usually sticks to using her social media pages to promote whichever Lip Kit drop is coming out next, but on Saturday night, she made sure to defend her baby daddy Travis Scott against some rumors that he was once again being petty toward his brother-in-law Kanye West . If you’ll recall back to Kanye’s latest Twitter rant, Travis Scott was caught in the middle between Ye’s ill feelings toward Drake, mostly due to the fact that Drizzy reportedly sneak-dissed West on Travis’ track “Sicko Mode.” Kanye felt some type of way that someone in his family would let another rapper take shots at him on a song and vowed to never let it happen again. How you gone be on Trav’s song coming at me. Trav should have never allowed that — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 I used to bring Travis with me everywhere with me Im an inspiration to both him and Drake — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 Meeting with Trav tonight bet it never be a checks over stripes line again on a Trav song on Donda — ye (@kanyewest) December 15, 2018 Drake and Trav both love Ye more than anyone and I love those guys back. We love everyone — ye (@kanyewest) December 15, 2018 Travis caught some stray bullets in the beef before making nice with Kanye when they “expressed” themselves and talked the whole situation out. Met with Trav at my crib this morning We expressed ourselves It’s all love — ye (@kanyewest) December 15, 2018 Among other shots, the major point that seems to be eating away at Kanye was Drake rapping, “checks over stripes” on “Sicko Mode,” because he saw that as a direct way for a fellow rapper to take money out of his family’s mouth by trying to encourage fans to purchase Nike instead of his shoes with Adidas. A few hours following his displays on Twitter, Travis Scott went on to post a photo wearing a Nike shirt, with their signature “check” swoosh logo prominently displayed. Some fans took this as a petty way of telling Kanye that it’s always going to be “checks over stripes.” Travis Scott is my kinda petty pic.twitter.com/Lc15cKoEjK — A. (@AT_Tunechi) December 16, 2018 After racking up a few thousand likes, Travis’ wifey Kylie Jenner made a point of replying to the controversy to let everybody know that their family is all good. She retweeted the sentiment denying any pettiness and says that “everyone is good, moved on, living life” and says that the sweatshirt is simply a new design because Scott has a deal with Nike. he’s not being petty. this is a sweatshirt design (the sock is apart of the design). everyone is good, moved on, living life. for anyone who wasn’t aware – travis has had a deal w Nike and still does. point is.. it’s all been talked out. It’s only positive energy. https://t.co/E5eZHXjvvg — Kylie Jenner (@KylieJenner) December 16, 2018 So there you have it. It looks like things are all good on the home front for the Kardashian clan, and according to both Kylie and Kanye, everything in their family is “all positive energy” from here on out.
From the very beginning of their relationship rumors of Travis Scott cheating on Kylie Jenner have been circulating non-stop. Many believed the rapper was caught redhanded when a photo that purported to show Travis hooking up with another woman made the rounds on social media. It was later revealed that the pics were staged by an internet “prankster” named Christian Adam. Even lamer than Adam’s prank is the fact that he justified his act of supreme douchebaggery by describing it as a high-minded “social experiment.” The goal, he claimed, was to prove how easy it is to “fool the internet.” “Never believe anything you see on the internet :)” Christian wrote on Instagram. “(DISCLAIMER: this video was NOT made to intentionally hurt Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner or the entire Kardashian family in ANY way shape or form).” Well, we guess he was successful — but it seems he wasn’t terribly bothered by the number of people he would need to hurt in order to prove his point. You can punch someone in the face and claim it wasn’t your intention to hurt them, and any harm was purely accidental, but the damage remains the same. Not surprisingly, Kylie was quick to denounce the prank: “Idk if this is really a social experiment to some people but you’re messing with real people, real relationships, real family. I’m happy my relationship is strong because this is getting out of hand,” she wrote on Instagram. “The internet scares me sometimes for real.” Big sister Kim Kardashian came to Kylie’s defense, bashing Christian in an irate tweet: “I hate that I am bringing attention to this but this is absolutely disgusting that you would find this funny to mess with Travis & Kylie who just started a family together. “This is really damaging to relationships, families and is just so wrong!” Adding a note of levity to this otherwise dark episode, Scott addressed the prank in hilarious fashion: “I don’t be on balcony wit no thots. That s–t lame. Try again u trollssss. Me and my wifey sturdy. Back to celebrating!!!” He added: “Only got love for my wife.” We guess it’s time for the ” Kylie and Travis are secretly married ” rumors to resurface and replace the cheating rumors! Pretty savvy move by Travis, really. View Slideshow: Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner Make FIRST EVER Red Carpet Appearance
Source: Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic / Getty Insta-Girl Accuses Travis Scott Of Cheating With Her Has Kylie Jenner fallen to the same f*ckboy fate as her older sister Khloe ? If you believe the reports of a social media random…it may appear that way. Right in the midst of Travis celebrating his number one album, an Instagram user by the name of Ja`Lyn Me`shell, @melaninnbarbiee, is claiming — indirectly — that Travis Scott is taking her to Astroworld when Kylie Jenner’s head is turned. The young woman posted a photo to IG, showing Travis leaning over seemingly whispering in an unseen young lady’s ear. Nobody likes me, but yo baby daddy keeps me icy The thing is…the photo appears to be covered with an old TMZ watermark — possibly from a photoshoot or video set — but has no attachment to any story regarding Travis and another woman. We can’t even seem to find the photo on TMZ’s site, despite the fact that it’s clearly from within the last two months with Travis’ blonde-tipped hair as an indicator. Either way, Travis was QUICK to shut this one down, taking to his Insta Story to post the following: Trolls always wanna create some fake sh*t to destroy real love. GOING OVER BOARD TO MAKE SH*T LOOK LIKE IS NOT IS EVIL. I hate acknowledging sh*t. But quit try to take joy from sh*t that’s good. I pray god blocks out all evil. BACK TO CELEBRATING !!!! Meanwhile, Kylie has said…nothing regarding the manner at all. And as for the Melanin Barbiee in question… If we had to bet, we’re guessing that probably isn’t even her in the photo. But, stranger things have happened in the Kardashian-Jenner family… Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic
