About Time! The US Vows Assistance To Finding Abducted Nigerian Schoolgirls

Until recently there has been relatively little media attention given to the shocking abduction of over 200 schoolgirls by terrorists in east Africa, but finally on Thursday the U.S. State Department addressed the incident, nothing that they are working with Nigeria to help look for them. According to NBCNews reports : “We have been engaged with the Nigerian government in discussions on what we might do to help support their efforts to find and free these young women,” State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf told reporters Thursday. “We will continue to have those discussions and help in any way we can.” Harf did not give specifics on what kind of help Washington might provide, but said: “We know Boko Haram is active in the area and we have worked very closely with the Nigerian government to build their capacity to fight this threat.” She added, “As of last year, for fiscal year 2012, we provided over $20 million in security assistance to Nigeria. Part of what that does is help professionalize their military, investigate terrorist attacks and enhance their forensics capabilities, and we’ve worked with law enforcement there as well to help build their capacity as well.” On April 14, militants with the Islamic fundamentalist group “Boko Haram” – which translates to “Western education is sinful – attacked the Government Girls Secondary School in the northern Nigerian town of Chibok and kidnapped more than 200 girls. Now weeks later, reports have surfaced that the terrorists are selling the girls off as child brides for as little as $12. Locals have reported to human rights groups that the girls are being moved across the border to Cameroon and Chad to be sold into domestic slavery. Mausi Segun, with Human Rights Watch in Nigeria, said that the extremely low price tag “speaks volumes about the value the insurgents have placed on the girls.” “If the rumors of marriage and trans-border movement of the girls are true the possibility of rescue as one group becomes slim,” Segun told NBC News. “The girls may however be rescued individually or in smaller groups if and when security forces dislodge Boko Haram from their numerous camps either in Nigeria or neighboring countries as has happened in the past.” First of all we think it’s great that the State Department is finally addressing this issue BUT right about now this sounds like all TALK! But here’s the real shocker… Considering the bridal price has been set so low, experts have been wondering where the money comes from to fund these terroristic expeditions. The answer may or may not shock you. AMERICAN WOMEN! Terror analyst Veryan Khan, who has studied the group in depth as executive director of TRAC, the Terrorism Research and Analysis Consortium, offered an interesting source: “Romance scams” on dating sites. “Reportedly on Match.com with U.S. women,” she told NBC News. “Plus credit card scams, again, with unsuspecting U.S. victims but generating within Nigeria.” Stop being so stupid ladies… your naivete is funding TERRORISM and costing young African girls their lives.

Thank You Jesus!: Missing Black Girls Found Alive And Safe!! [Video]

Remember those missing teens we gave the “Black Girl Missing Alert” about last week… have been found safe and sound: Two teenage girls reported missing for just over a week were found safe Saturday in San Antonio, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. Liana Andrews, 16, and Kacie Watson, 14, had been missing since Aug. 16 when the two took one of their parents’ cars and never returned. The San Antonio Police Department found both girls Saturday in the downtown district, deputies said. The girls have been reunited with their families and are back home. According to the teens’ families, Andrew’s grandmother was watching the pair the night day they vanished. After the grandmother went to sleep, the girls took off in a car. Andrews sent a message to her grandmother that said they would be back home on Saturday, Aug. 17, around 1:30 p.m., but the pair never showed up. The car, a 2001 Gold Chrysler Sebring, was later found days later abandoned in downtown San Antonio near the courthouse with some of their personal belongings still in it. The families believed the girls went to see a man they met online so police considered them runaways. A vigil was held for the two girls Saturday at the First Metropolitan Church as the community prayed for their safe return. youtube Khou11 Continue reading
