Bengals Punter Gets DESTROYED by Blocker: Watch, Cringe Now!

Most. Painful. GIF. Ever. During his team’s Sunday night loss to the Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals punter Kevin Huber  attempted to tackle Antonio Brown during the wide receiver’s impressive return. But linebacker Terence Garvin had other ideas, plowing into a relatively defenseless Huber in one of the most vicious blocks you’ll ever see. It left Huber with a broken jaw and a cracked vertebrae, but to the punter’s credit, he walked off the field under his own power with just a towel in his mouth to staunch the bleeding. Also of note: No flag was thrown on the play. In far more gentle sports news, did you catch this hockey player waving at a young fan ? Precious stuff.

Katy Perry Lip-Syncing, Forced to Start Over and Sing Live at NRJ Music Awards: Watch Now!

Video captured Katy Perry lip-syncing not once but twice at the NRJ Music Awards in France, as it became obvious she was not lined up with the track. What happened was Katy was performing “Roar” and very obviously lip-syncing. That’s not what makes this noteworthy, as it happens to a lot of stars. But what happened here is that, incredibly, the host of the show walked in, stopped the whole performance, and made her start over from the beginning! Using her real voice. It was just really awkward … Katy Perry Lip-Sync Fail Needless to say, Katy Perry looked embarrassed, and didn’t sing that well, but after being humiliated in front of thousands like that, and being sick? Hard not to feel for her. She’s a performer, and a brand, and a great girl, but not a live vocal standout. Never has been … and to be put on the spot like that? Just bad. And not Perry’s fault, in the opinion of THG. What do you think above the above clip? Discuss!

James Van Der Beek to Play James Van Der Beek on ABC Pilot

’90s television stars: They’re all about the meta! Following in the footsteps of Neil Patrick Harris (who played “Neil Patrick Harris” in the Harold and Kumar franchise) and Matt LeBlanc (who is currently playing “Matt LeBlanc” on the Showtime series Episodes ), James Van Der Beek will play “himself” in the ABC pilot Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apt. 23 . (Expect that hilarious title to change.) The show is about a June, Midwestern girl who moves to New York to live with Chloe, a wild party girl. Van Der Beek will play Chloe’s best friend, and likely make James Van Der Meme-like jokes about his Dawson’s Creek past. [ TVL ine ]

Lady Gaga Tour Losing Money

Lady Gaga New York Magazine published an article on singer Lady Gaga, now being called Lady CaCa and alternatively Lady HaHa online, due to her odd antics and strange, contrived fashion sense and in it they revealed the person behind the persona dressed and behaved nothing like the singer we see today. The article accurately paints her as a creation of producer and then boyfriend, Rob Fusari, who has since sued her for $30 million dollars, in a breach of contract dispute, regarding the 20% stake he holds in her company. The article gives a very unflattering glimpse at Gaga, who stated, “I don’t like Los Angeles. The people are awful and terribly shallow, and everybody wants to be famous but nobody wants to play the game. I’m from New York. I will kill to get what I need .” In a related item, it was reported her current tour, that has angered parents in Australia, due to its vulgar language and crass sexual content, is actually in the red, as Gaga is demanding a costly stage show that does not recoup its costs after ticket sales. Lady Gaga: The Early Years March 29, 2010, 12:15 PM ET – …Among the noteworthy details: Gaga’s current tour is reportedly losing money (as much as $3 million, according to insiders cited in the piece) because she refuses to cut corners on the elaborate stage show… Grigoriadis on Gaga’s interview presentation: “Gaga spoke carefully in a very odd accent—some combination of Madonna as Madge and a robot, an affect enhanced by the fact that she refused to remove her lightly tinted sunglasses over the course of two hours.” Gaga on her diet: “Pop stars should not eat.” Former Gaga producer Rob Fusari on her fashion faux-pas: “Gaga wasn’t into fashion at this point: She liked leggings and sweatshirts, maybe with a shoulder out. “A couple times, she came to the studio in sweatpants, and I said, ‘Really, Stef?’ ” says Fusari. “ ‘What if I had Clive Davis in here today? I should call the session right now. Prince doesn’t pick up ice cream at the 7-Eleven looking like Chris Rock.”… http://blogs.wsj.com Growing Up Gaga http://nymag.com Continue reading
