Source: JOHANNES EISELE / Getty Cardi B has been attempting to clear her name in the assault case against her where she allegedly ordered the beating of strip club bartenders Jade and Baddie Gi . The Invasion of Privacy star was in court Friday (April 19) but rejected a plea deal that would have given her a misdemeanor charge. TMZ reports : She was all business — decked out in white — as she walked through the rain, and into an NYC courthouse. As you know, Cardi’s accused of ordering an attack on 2 strip club bartenders — Jade and Baddie Gi — last August. Cardi allegedly thought Jade had slept with her man, Offset. Inside, prosecutors tried to play let’s make a deal. The offer — plead guilty to a misdemeanor, and get a conditional discharge. That would mean no jail time, but Cardi would have to stay out of trouble for some period of time. That didn’t appeal to her, and she rejected the deal before they could even discuss how long she’d have to keep her nose clean. The hearing didn’t take long, and Cardi strolled back out … silent as fans and photogs showed her love. The dance queen recently stopped by Apple Music’s Beats 1 with Ebro Darden and got candid about everything from playing a stripper in her new film “Hustlers” to her love affair with MLB legend Alex Rodriguez . “Alex was very excited about me doing a stripper movie. He helped me do research by going to a strip club in NYC with me and we watched the show and afterwards I chatted to some of the girls. Of course he knew that world (the stripper world) very well from when he was a young athlete, going to the clubs and stuff. He helped me a lot with the preparation for this movie and was very supportive.” The Bronx beauty also dished on her awkward first date with A.Rod, but kept mum about their fairytale engagement. “Our first date wasn’t a first date but rather a meet up, but he was so awkward and cute and perfect from the first moment. I can’t disclose how the engagement happened because I have to talk to Alex before about how much he wants to disclose as well. The nearly ten-year-old accessories line photographed its employees in its NYC showroom, showing off new designs for backpacks, carryalls and fanny packs. Founder David Ben David said he wanted to honor Sprayground’s female staffers, calling these women were the backbone of his company who helped turn his surreal dreams into reality. David said women from diverse backgrounds making up a large portion of its senior management, from marketing and PR to merchandising and designing. The RHOA star has welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with her fiancé Dennis McKinley. The news came initially from Porsha’s sister Lauren Williams who posted a text from Porsha announcing her baby PJ’s arrival and then from the couple who spoke to PEOPLE. “What a time to be alive! Porsha and I are so happy and blessed to announce the arrival of our daughter, Baby PJ,” the Dish Nation host, 37, and McKinley tell PEOPLE. “We couldn’t have imagined a more magical moment! Can’t thank everyone enough for joining us on this journey-it’s been a fantastic journey,” they add. Baby PJ was born at 1:36 p.m., weighing 6 lbs., 15 oz., and measuring 20 inches long. Source: Gary Hershorn / Getty Dead Man’s Body Found On NYC Train You’re bound to find anything on the New York City MTA, including a dead body apparently. That was the case on Friday morning after an MTA worker on the F train at the 169th Street station in Queens found a 31-year old man’s dead body in the train car. According to police : The individual was spotted by an MTA worker at 7:17 a.m. aboard a northbound “F” train at the 169th Street station in Jamaica Hills. [The man] was unconscious and unresponsive with no obvious trauma to his body when he was found. EMS declared the unidentified man dead at the scene. No word on what his actual cause of death was, as police are still investigating the incident. An autopsy report is currently being conducted. Damn.
We’re just weeks away from Meghan Markle’s due date , and all over the globe, royal watchers are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new prince or princess. Of course, no one is more excited than the residents of Frogmore Cottage, the whimsical-sounding estate that Meg and Prince Harry currently call home. It’s surely a joyous but rather anxious time for the royals, as Meghan and Harry prepare to welcome their first child. Insiders say Meghan is in final preparation mode, and it’s all hands on deck as the big day draws near. Obviously, Meg and Harry aren’t residing at Frogmore by themselves, and a cadre of assistants, secretaries, and nannies-in-waiting are close at hand whether the royal couple is at home, or at their offices in Kensington Palace. And it seems that arrangement is causing a good deal of fretting among the royals at the moment. We’ve discussed the Duchess of Sussex’s staffing difficulties at length in the past. There’s been talk of Meghan bullying staff until they quit, and while that seemingly ridiculous claim remains unverified, there’s no denying that Meg has lost several close advisors in recent months. She’s soon to lose another, too, as Samantha Cohen has announced that she’ll be leaving the duchess’ service shortly after the arrival of Meghan’s baby. The announcement came just weeks after another one of Meghan’s advisors, Melissa Toubati, left her post abruptly. At this point, Meghan’s staff is largely temporary, and the revolving door nature of her personnel practices is reportedly raising concerns around Buckingham Palace. “There are so many open positions in all sorts of places at the palace that one slip-up in a background check or an interview could prove disastrous,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online “Meghan basically has no close staff left, just before the birth of her child,” the insider adds. “It’s causing her huge stress.” In addition to concerns about being under-staffed, the need to hire several new employees in a hurry is raising security fears. The royals have issued a statement indicating that all new hires will be subjected to “criminal records checks and inquiries regarding the right to work in the U.K.” but one former security adviser to the royals thinks the current precautions are downright laughable “It simply won’t deter serious criminals, stalkers or international terrorists highly skilled at faking backgrounds,” he tells Radar. “The irony of trying to recruit someone to monitor this abuse is that the candidate could fake a background and end up being far more dangerous than a troll.” The expert warns that the royals’ high turnover rate has made them “sitting ducks,” despite recent increases in security. “The royals have improved their aggressive approach in uncovering potential dangers,” an insider said. “But it only takes one mistake and history could be changed forever.” Nothing like a little crippling anxiety as you prepare to welcome a new baby! It’s been a long and rocky road to reconciliation for Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus. As you may recall, Affleck and Shookus broke up when the Oscar winner spiraled out of control in September of 2018. (Fun fact: Ben has now starred in more meltdowns than Batman movies!) In recent weeks, we’ve been hearing persistent rumors that Ben and Lindsay are back together . The couple has yet to confirm those rumors, but they’ve been spending an awful lot of time together over the past month or so. There have even been reports that Lindsay is Ben’s “sobriety coach,” working hard to ensure that the freshly rehabbed star stays off sauce, and that he’s not tempted by being in the presence of others who are drinking heavily. That’s a lot to take in, and it’s the sort of thing that suggests these two are doing something more than casually dating. “Ben has been telling those close to him that his biggest mistake was letting Lindsay go,” a source close to the situation tells In Touch Weekly. “Now that he’s sober and she’s giving him a second chance, he refuses to let her slip away again, and he’s asked her to move in.” The insider confirms that Lindsay “was in the process of moving in with Ben when they broke up in September,” but nixed those plans when Affleck relapsed. Since Ben and Lindsay live on opposite coasts (she’s a New York-based SNL producer), she understandably wants to make sure that he’s capable of remaining sober this time. Ben reached the six-month milestone recently, and the informant says Lindsay has begun making tentative plans toward cohabitation. “Lindsay loves working for SNL, which films in NYC, and she has a young daughter who’s based there too,” a source tells In Touch. The insider adds that Shookus is “willing to split her time between the two coasts and is moving some of her belongings into Ben’s place.” We don’t blame her for being cautious. Not only does Lindsay have a child who lives in Manhattan, she’s spent enough time in the company of a red-faced raging blowhard after working so closely with Alec Baldwin these past two years. In all likelihood, she wants to wait long enough to make sure not only that Ben is committed to the hard work of recovery, but also that he’s left his infamous temper in the past. “After everything that’s happened, Lindsay’s guard is up,” says the source. “She loves Ben and also wants to make it work, but she isn’t ready to give up her whole life just yet!” The source says Lindsay was perfectly clear about her reasons for kicking Ben to the curb the first time: “He needed to get his life in order, by that I mean get sober.” Here’s hoping the third time stint in rehab will prove to be the charm for Ben.
