Against The Grain: Always Angry August Alsina Gets Into It With North Carolina Club Promoter [VIDEO]

“You ninjas wanna go against the m-f’n grain after I TOLD you…” August Alsina Has Loud Argument With Club Promoter What is with all these ladies’ men fighting with promoters in the club these days??? August Alsina has never been one to mince words and doesn’t exactly shy away from an altercation . This time, the constantly pissed-off crooner’s fury was directed at a club promoter who he felt “played him” during a North Carolina club appearance. Peep the video: Via TheShadeRoom : The argument was over the fact that the promoter wanted August to get on the microphone and acknowledge his fans. August told the promoter that he did not feel like it and he just wanted to chill and be laid back for the night. His response left a bitter taste in the promoter’s mouth and almost immediately the promoter grabbed the mic to put August Alsina on blast in front of the entire club. The promoter said that he encountered very few Celebs who wouldn’t at least acknowledge the fans on the mic during a paid appearance. August did end up getting on the mic, but only to curse out the promoter for putting him on blast! SMH. Why is this guy always so damn crabby?!?!

Countdown To Lockdown: Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin To Begin 10-Year Prison Sentence

Sayonara Nagin… Former Mayor Ray Nagin On His Way To Prison After being found guilty on bribery and money laundering charges , the time has come for Ray Nagin to report to the clink. Via HuffPost : Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was due to report to federal prison on Monday to begin serving a 10-year sentence for corruption during the years when the city was struggling to recover from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. Nagin, a Democrat, was thrust into the national spotlight in 2005, when Katrina overwhelmed levees and flooded 80 percent of New Orleans, killing 1,500 people and causing some $80 billion in damage. He is due to serve his time at a federal prison in Texarkana, Texas, according to television station WDSU. Nagin, 58, plans to appeal his conviction. He has said in court filings that he is nearly penniless, and has been granted a court-appointed lawyer. The onetime cable company executive who served as New Orleans’ mayor from 2002-2010 was convicted on 20 criminal counts including bribery, conspiracy and money laundering, all tied to payments he received for granting city contracts. Seeking re-election in 2006, Nagin, a black politician who had enjoyed strong support from both black and white voters, seemed to adopt a racially divisive tone, urging residents to rebuild a “chocolate New Orleans,” referring to its majority black population. Under federal sentencing rules, Nagin would serve about 8-1/2 years in prison with good behavior. SMH.

Former New Orleans Mayor Ray “Pay Day” Nagin Indicted On Bribery And Fraud Charges!

Say it ain’t so shady Ray… Ray Nagin Indicted For Bribery And Fraud Via NYPost Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was indicted Friday on charges that he used his office for personal gain, accepting payoffs, free trips and gratuities from contractors while the city was struggling to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The charges against Nagin are the outgrowth of a City Hall corruption investigation that already has resulted in guilty pleas by two former city officials and two businessmen and a prison sentence for a former city vendor. The federal indictment accuses Nagin of accepting more than $160,000 in bribes and truckloads of free granite for his family business in exchange for promoting the interests of a local businessman who secured millions of dollars in city contract work after the 2005 hurricane. The businessman, Frank Fradella, pleaded guilty in June to bribery conspiracy and securities-fraud charges and has been cooperating with federal authorities. Nagin, 56, also is charged with accepting at least $60,000 in payoffs from another businessman, Rodney Williams, for his help in securing city contracts for architectural, engineering and management services work. Williams, who was president of Three Fold Consultants LLC, pleaded guilty Dec. 5 to a conspiracy charge. The indictment also accuses Nagin of getting free private jet and limousine services to New York from an unidentified businessman. Nagin is accused of agreeing to wave tax penalties that the businessman owed to the city on a delinquent tax bill in 2006. After all that the folks in New Orleans have gone through, if these charges end up sticking, Ray Nagin might just be the most “ain’t isht” ninja ever! Image via AP

Lauer to Laura Bush: Is It ‘Painful’ to Be in New Orleans, Since So Much Blame Is Laid At Your Husband’s Feet?

Today co-anchor Matt Lauer traveled to New Orleans, on Friday, to mark the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and interviewed the likes of former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, former FEMA Director Mike Brown, current Democratic Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Louisiana  Governor Bobby Jindal, but saved any sort of direct shots at George W. Bush for his interview with Laura Bush. At the very end of his August 27 interview about her charitable work in the region, Lauer laid the following guilt trip on the former First Lady: [ audio available here ] MATT LAUER: There’s no easy way to ask this question, I’m just gonna ask it. Is it ever painful for you to come back to this region, because in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, it seems so much of the blame for what happened or didn’t happen here was laid at the feet of your husband? LAURA BUSH: No, not really. I mean I feel very close to the people on the Gulf Coast and always have. And, and I know what the circumstances were. And of course the President takes the blame in any situation, as we can see now with the new president. But I also knew what George really thought and how he felt about the, the Gulf Coast. We gave unprecedented support. The United States Congress passed large bills. I think $180 billion that George signed and has come to the Gulf Coast. And what we’ve seen really is so inspirational. The people here, the school people are the ones that I’ve been with the most. And they came back, when they were in FEMA trailers or living with relatives and did everything they could to rebuild their schools so kids could come back. LAUER: I know the people of the region are thankful for the work you and your foundation are doing here. Mrs. Bush thanks for joining us this morning. I appreciate it.
