Brooke Nevils, Alleged Matt Lauer Rape Victim, Once Attempted Suicide

Ronan Farrow’s new, revealing and disturbing book has officially gone on sale. And, with the release of “Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators,” we now have new information on the allegation of rape leveled against Matt Lauer in it. As previously reports, via excerpts from this book, Brooke Nevils has gone on record with the accusation that Lauer sexually assaulted her when the two were on location for the Sochi Olympics in 2014. A former NBC staffer, Nevils told Farrow that Lauer invited her to his hotel room at the time — and then proceeded to toss her on the bed and turn her over. He then had anal sex with her against Brooke’s will. “It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent,” she reportedly tells Farrow in the book. “It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn’t want to have anal sex.” Nevils went on to explain that, yes, she and Lauer slept together a few times after they returned to New York City, summarzing the situation as follows: “It was completely transactional. It was not a relationship.” Lauer has denied the rape allegation — in very offensive manner, some might say — and now we’ve learned the following about Nevils: She was so affected by the alleged incident that she tried to kill herself at one point. “Over the past two years, Nevils had attempted suicide,” writes Farrow. “She’s been hospitalized for post-traumatic stress disorder, descended into heavy drinking, pulled herself back.” He adds: “She’d lost fourteen pounds. And gone to doctors twenty-one times in a single-month period.” To be clear, everything Farrow writes about this situation is from Nevils’ point of view. But to also be clear: Lauer was previously accused of rape by another NBC staff; and, when he was fired by NBC two years ago , executives said they based their decision around multiple accuasions of horrible misconduct on the reporter’s part. He seems like a legitimately awful person, whether or not this specific allegation is even true. Nevils says in the book that doesn’t regret her decision to come forward with the allegations, although her life has totally changed as as a result. “I’ve lost everything I cared about. My job. My goals,” she says. Elsewhere, Nevils also told Farrow of two other “non-consensual” encounters with Lauer. While she was looking for something in his office, Nevils claims Lauer “grabbed her hips and fingered her.” The other time, Lauer reportedly asked for oral sex in exchange for filming a goodbye message for her then-boyfriend who was leaving NBC for a new job, according to the book. “When she asked Lauer for his (video), he told her to come to his office to record it herself. When she arrived, she said, he told her to go down on him,” Farrow writes. “I was really upset. I felt terrible,” Nevils claims in the book. “I was trying to do this nice thing, and I had to give Matt a blow job to get him to film a goodbye video. I just felt sick.” For his part, Lauer issued a lengthy response to the media last week, where he strongly denied claims of nonconsensual sex. “I have never assaulted anyone or forced anyone to have sex. Period,” he said as part of it. He admitted to an affair with Nevils (and other women), but stated all acts were consensual on all sides. “There’s the Matt Lauer that millions of Americans watched on TV every morning for two decades, and there is the Matt Lauer who this morning attempted to bully a former colleague into silence,” Nevils then said in a statement in response. Brooke Nevils, Alleged Matt Lauer Rape Victim, Once Attempted Suicide

Brooke Nevils Speaks Out, Trashes Matt Lauer for Victim-Shaming

Brooke Nevils doesn’t merely want her name out there. She also wants her voice heard. Loudly, clearly and very forcefully. Nevils is the NBC producer who issued the complaint in late 2017 that led to Lauer being fired by the network for sexual misconduct . Her identity was kept secret at the time — but she has now revealed both herself and her story to Ronan Farrow as a major part of that reporter’s upcoming book, “Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators.” In excepts released from the book this week, Nevils alleges that Lauer raped her at the Sochi Olympics in 2014 . She says the disgraced ex-Today Show host invited Nevils to his hotel room… where he proceeded to throw her on the bed and ignore her pleas NOT  to have anal sex. “It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent,” she tells Farrow in the book. “It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn’t want to have anal sex.” Brooke Nevils confirms that she did sleep with Lauer a few times after they returned to New York City, labeling their relationship as “transactional.” Nevils went on medical leave in 2018 and was eventually paid “seven figures” by NBC to keep  quiet, writes Farrow in his book. But she can’t keep quiet any longer. Not after Lauer responded to this claim via an open letter that Nevils finds abhorrent in its tone and content. Late Wednesday, Nevils released a statement, which aired on NBC Nightly News, that read as follows: “There’s the Matt Lauer that millions of Americans watched on TV every morning for two decades, and there is the Matt Lauer who this morning attempted to bully a former colleague into silence.” Added Nevils of Lauer’s lenthy reply to her accusations: “His open letter was a case study in victim blaming. I am not afraid of him now.” Lauer confessed in his letter to engaging in an extramarital affair with Nevils. He denied all allegations of assault, however, emphasizing how the two carried on a sexual relationship long after this incident in Sochi. “We performed oral sex on each other, we had vaginal sex, and we had anal sex. Each act was mutual and completely consensual,” Lauer wrote, adding: “There was absolutely nothing aggressive about that encounter. Brooke did not do or say anything to object. She certainly did not cry. She was a fully enthusiastic and willing partner. “At no time did she behave in a way that made it appear she was incapable of consent.” Nevils has taken Lauer’s words as an attempt to shame her for her actions… but she refuses to back down. “Regardless of his threats, bullying, and the shaming and predatory tactics I knew he would (and now has) tried to use against me,” Nevils said on Wednesday. Lauer, for his part, stated that Nevils never worked for him in any way at NBC, continuing: “I have never assaulted anyone or forced anyone to have sex. Period.” He then delves into the women with whom he slept while married. “For two years, the women with whom I had extramarital relationships have abandoned shared responsibility, and instead, shielded themselves from blame behind false allegations. “They have avoided having to look a boyfriend, husband, or a child in the eye and say, I cheated . “They have done enormous damage in the process. And I will no longer provide them the shelter of my silence.” Nevils is one of these women, yet she has serious issues with the way Lauer has framed their interactions. And she’s thankful to all who have stood by her side. “I want to thank the many survivors who shared their stories with me today and offered their support. It takes courage, and I am truly grateful,” Nevils Tweeted last night. NBC, meanwhile, which has been accused of covering up Lauer’s heinous misdeeds, issued a statement of its own yesterday. “Matt Lauer’s conduct was appalling, horrific and reprehensible, as we said at the time,” said the network. “That’s why he was fired within 24 hours of us first learning of the complaint. Our hearts break again for our colleague.” It concluded as follows: The first time we learned about Matt Lauer’s sexual misconduct in the workplace was the night of November 27, 2017 and he was fired in 24 hours. Any suggestion that we knew prior to that evening, paid any ‘hush money,’ or tried to cover up any aspect of Lauer’s appalling behavior is absolutely false. NBCU’s legal team has done an exhaustive search of available records and conducted dozens of interviews of past and present staff, and uncovered no claims or settlements relating to allegations of inappropriate conduct by Matt Lauer that pre-date his firing. Only following his termination did we reach agreements with two women who had come forward for the very first time and those women have always been free to share their stories about Lauer with anyone they choose. Brooke Nevils Speaks Out, Trashes Matt Lauer for Victim-Shaming

Brooke Nevils Accuses Matt Lauer of Anal Rape; Disgraced Reporter Responds

Matt Lauer has once again been accused of rape. This time, however, the name of the disgraced journalist’s alleged victim, and the details of his alleged misdeed, have been made public. (About two years ago, we reported on a previous rape allegation that claimed Lauer bent a staffer over a desk in his office in 2001 and violated her right then and there.) In Ronan Farrow’s new book, “Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators,” the well-respected reporter interviews NBC News employee Brooke Nevils. It was her complaint about Lauer led to his firing in November 2017 . At the time, Nevils’ identity was kept anonymous at her request; this is the first time the full details of her story have been released for all to read. Nevils alleges in the book, according to Variety, that Lauer anally raped her in his hotel room at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. According to Nevils, she ran into Lauer at a bar one night. After doing six shots of vodka, she first went to Lauer’s hotel room to grab her press credentials and then later went back after the Today Show anchor invited her. Once there this second time, Nevils says, Lauer kissed her… and then pushed her onto the bed and asked if she liked anal sex. Farrow writes that Nevils said she “declined several times,” but he supposedly “just did it” and didn’t use lubricant. Nevils claims the encounter was painful and that she “bled for days.” “It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent,” she reportedly tells Farrow in the book. “It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn’t want to have anal sex.” Nevils admits that she and Lauer slept together a few times after they returned to New York City, explaining the situation as follows: “It was completely transactional. It was not a relationship.” At Meredith Vieira’s prompting, Nevils reported her ordeal to NBC executives in the fall of 2017. A short time later, Lauer was fired for what NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack said at that time was “a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.” Nevils went on medical leave in 2018 and was eventually paid “seven figures,” writes Farrow in his book. Lauer, whose marriage officially ended this summer , had mostly kept quiet ever since getting the boot two years ago. But he issued a lengthy statement to Variety in the wake of this rape allegation. In a new book, it is alleged that an extramarital, but consensual, sexual encounter I have previously admitted having, was in fact an assault. It is categorically false, ignores the facts, and defies common sense , he says, continuing as follows: I had an extramarital affair with Brooke Nevils in 2014. It began when she came to my hotel room very late one night in Sochi, Russia. We engaged in a variety of sexual acts. We performed oral sex on each other, we had vaginal sex, and we had anal sex. Each act was mutual and completely consensual. Referring to the accusations made in Farrow’s book, Lauer says Nevils’ side of the experience is “filled with false details intended only to create the impression this was an abusive encounter.” He adds along this line: Nothing could be further from the truth. There was absolutely nothing aggressive about that encounter. Brooke did not do or say anything to object. She certainly did not cry. She was a fully enthusiastic and willing partner. At no time did she behave in a way that made it appear she was incapable of consent. She seemed to know exactly what she wanted to do. The only concern she expressed was that someone might see her leaving my room. She embraced me at the door as she left. Lauer goes on to admit to an ongoing affair with Nevils, emphasizing that she never expressed “discomfort” of any kind. He also says Nevils never worked for him or had to answer to him in any way in their roles at NBC. Lauer claims he basically ghosted Nevils as a way to end their affair and strongly hints that she’s now saying all this stuff out of bitterness and anger — and because she wants to sell a book. In conclusion? I have never assaulted anyone or forced anyone to have sex. Period , Lauer writes. Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a very private person. I had no desire to write this, but I had no choice. The details I have written about here open deep wounds for my family. But they also lead to the truth. For two years, the women with whom I had extramarital relationships have abandoned shared responsibility, and instead, shielded themselves from blame behind false allegations. They have avoided having to look a boyfriend, husband, or a child in the eye and say, “I cheated.” They have done enormous damage in the process. And I will no longer provide them the shelter of my silence . View Slideshow: Matt Lauer: A Timeline of Terrible Behavior

Matt Lauer: FINALLY Booted From Family Home by Furious Ex!

Disgraced former NBC host Matt Lauer has been threatening to return to television , to the horror of many. But things aren’t going so well for him on the home front. Lauer’s wife has wanted him out of the house since January. It looks like she has finally, finally gotten her wish. InTouch Weekly reports that Matt Lauer is no longer living in the family home — at the insistence of his wife, Annette Roque. “Annette officially kicked Matt out of the house,” the insider announces. We’ve already heard that Lauer is furious about the $50 million divorce , in part because he wanted to make things work. So this has to sting. The source adds: “They were both staying in separate wings of the Sag Harbor home.” This, in classic rich people style, was “where they were living in with the kids.” “This,” the insider reveals. “Was their arrangement ever since Matt had been fired from the Today show.” Finding out that your husband is a serial cheater is one thing. Learning that he’s an accused sexual predator is another. “But Annette finally gave Matt a deadline,” the source explains. “And,” the insider continues, Annette “told him that he had to be out of the house by the day the kids start school.” “So he’s out,” the source states. In case you missed that bit about the divorce costing him $50 million, Lauer is no pauper. Being kicked out has not rendered him homeless. “He is staying in a property close to their main house in the Hamptons,” the insider says. There are reportedly some strict rules on when he can return to the family residence, where their three children reside. “He is only allowed in the main house when Annette isn’t there,” the source notes. “He goes to pick up the kids from school and / or pick them up from school and take them home,” the insider reports. “But that’s it.” it sounds like Annette does not even want to see his face — which is how many of his former fans feel after all that they’ve heard. “He’s not allowed to step into the house when she is there,” the source says. For a while, it seemed like the two of them were going to try to make it work and live in a sham marriage for the sake of their children. That ship has long since sailed. “She’s made that very clear,” the insider affirms. “The kids live with Annette,” the source notes. The insider continues: “She’s the main caretaker.” That makes sense. She’s not just their mother — she’s their parent who isn’t accused of being a rapist and general sex monster. She’s probably a better role model. “Matt loves them and is very involved in their lives,” the source reports. “But,” the insider clarifies. “They are living in the main house.” We should note that it was reported last April that Matt Lauer was kicked out of the house . It is possible that the report was in error. Sometimes, it is difficult to know which report is true and which is not without confirmation. It is also possible that he was kicked out and then begged his way back in. Lauer is said to be very concerned with his public image, and some believe that he is operating under the delusion that he can make a comeback. Whatever happened with his living situation back in April, it sounds like he and Annette are living in truly separate houses now. View Slideshow: Matt Lauer: A Timeline of Terrible Behavior

Matt Lauer Has Now Been Accused of Rape

The New York Times has published a new and explosive allegation against Matt Lauer. According to this newspaper, the former Today Show anchor once sexually assaulted an NBC staffer in his office. The report quotes two anonymous women who have come forward with accusations, just days after another woman and her lawyer approached NBC executives with details on how Lauer acted in an offensive manner toward her. In response, NBC fired Lauer for what it referred to as “inappropriate sexual behavior.” Via a statement from News Chairman Andrew Lack at the time, the network said it had reasons to believe what transpired between Lauer and this latter individual was NOT an “isolated incident.” And the aforementioned New York Times report backs up this belief. The most shocking, disturbing and damaging aspect of this report cites and alleged incident that took place in 2001. The publication writes that it talked to an ex-NBC staffer – speaking on the condition of anonymity – who described the ways in which Lauer made “inappropriate comments” to her after she began working at the media company in the late 1990s. In 2001, Lauer invited her into his office. He used a button under his desk to lock the door remotely. He’s then accused of asking the employee to unbutton her blouse, a request to which she acquiesced. She claims Lauer then got up… pulled down her pants… bent her over a chair … and had intercourse with her. She says she passed out halfway through the experience. She says she later woke up on the floor and heard Lauer asking his assistant to take her to a nurse. The alleged victim says she didn’t report the incident at the time because she feared she would lose her job, although she did leave NBC about a year later. The New York Times says the woman’s ex-husband has confirmed she told him about the assault soon after it happened, while a friend says the woman shared her story with her five years ago. Neither Lauer nor anyone representing him has responded to this latest allegation. It comes on the heels of three women also speaking to Variety and detailing other heinous acts committed by Lauer . One, who also worked for NBC, recounted how she was called into Lauer’s office “and then dropped his pants, showing her his penis.” Lauer then allegedly “reprimanded her for not engaging in a sexual act.” Another woman says Lauer gifted her with a sex toy and grew irritated when he didn’t use it in front of her. There’s also been talk that Lauer sexually assaulted someone while covering the Sochi Olympics in 2014. Just horrible, gross stuff all around. Lauer has been a co-anchor on Today since 1994. He was the highest paid employee at the company, based on yearly salary. Upon announcing her colleague’s firing, a shaken up Savannah Guthrie said the following on air yesterday morning: We are heartbroken. I’m heartbroken for Matt – he is my dear, dear friend and my partner, and he has been loved by many, many people here. And I’m heartbroken for the brave colleague who came forward to tell her story, and any other women who have their own stories to tell. View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught?
