Fans of E.L. James’ erotic bestseller 50 Shades of Grey have been fantasy-casting their perfect Christian Grey for months, arguing over whether this actor or that actor would best embody the BDSM-addicted rich playboy hero in the forthcoming film adaptation. But one enterprising academic has cobbled together the perfect Christian Grey with the help of police technology — a little Brad Pitt here, a dash of McDreamy there — morphing together the features of various leading men. The result: Kinda creepy! University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) Dr Faye Skelton employed image-generating software to “create” the first image of womankind’s perfect Christian Grey, using a radio poll of a tiny sampling of fans of the novel. Among this Christian’s features, taken from their suggested dream actors: Patrick Dempsey’s eyes, Brad Pitt’s jawline, Chris Hemsworth’s nose, and, um, Val Kilmer’s lips. Needless to say, this 12-woman focus group might have been a bit too narrow a selection… “While we don’t want to intrude on anyone’s fantasies, based on a small sample of women, this is the image of Christian Grey they have in their heads when reading the novels,” Skelton said (via the BBC). “Personally, I think he’s quite handsome — although everyone’s interpretation will be different.” Neat trick, but way off-base to begin with — almost all of the celebrity sex symbols whose features went into this bizarre face-mash are too old to play Christian Grey, anyway. It doesn’t just make sense to fantasy-cast just any piece of hunky Hollywood man meat for the role; it makes even less sense to mush together the noses and ears and hairlines of random hot dudes and think that will equal hotness squared. I guess this faux Christian isn’t terrible-looking – he looks like any bro you’d see at the gym, though I keep fixating on his various face parts and thinking about who they belong to. Is this the vision of godlike man-beauty you envision introducing Anastasia Steele to a world of kink and psycho-sexual dramarama? Not so much. Besides: What woman is that into Val Kilmer ‘s lips? Sometimes life imitates art, or something like that. Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey channeled his inner Dr. McDreamy this week when he helped rescue a teenager who careened off the road and overturned his car completely near the actor’s property in Malibu, Calif. The car had rolled repeatedly and was totaled. Dempsey reportedly ran toward the car with crowbar in hand so he could pry the driver out of the wrecked Mustang, and was successful. A neighbor called 911 and the police came, with paramedics treating the crash victim for a concussion, and stunningly nothing worse. Patrick, of course, never mentioned any of this. No word who the kid who crashed is, but Shawn Ryan, the creator of The Shield , tweeted: “True Story: Grey’s Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey pulled my friend’s son out of an overturned car after bad accident on Tuesday. #GoodDude” Thank about an #understatement. Sundance entry Flypaper combines a bunch of people and things we like: Patrick Dempsey, bank heists, the writers of The Hangover , Jeffrey Tambor, one-liners, Rob Huebel, Ashley Judd, a director of The Lion King , and ‘splosions. Seems like a cohesive, yet unexpected marriage of talents. In the trailer from the film — which premieres on demand July 15 before hitting theaters Aug. 19 — we watch a robbery unfold and an unexpected camaraderie arise. I’m already calling Dempsey’s character McStealy.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley says ‘Dark of the Moon’ director Michael Bay usually had her ‘hiding underneath something that was about to explode.’ By Jocelyn Vena Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Photo: MTV News It’s almost a given that stunt work on a flick like “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” would be intense. The cast of the Michael Bay-directed movie expected as much, and they were more than up for the challenge. “I loved doing the stunts,” Rosie Huntington-Whiteley told MTV News, adding that she thought Bay “really respected a girl that could get her hands dirty.” “Dark of the Moon,” which hits theaters on June 29, is Huntington-Whiteley’s first appearance in the franchise but she seemed to revel in all of the action. “Everything was a first for me, so it was super exhilarating and exciting. … And we had a lot of fun filming. Every day was a crazy day on set and I think maybe half the time, I was in a harness or jumping through fire or I was running through gunfire or, like, hiding underneath something that was about to explode.” SEE PHOTOS OF ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY AND MORE STARS ON THE MOVIE AWARDS RED-CARPET. Fellow “Transformers” newcomer Patrick Dempsey was equally into it, dishing about the technology Bay used to show the cast how he wanted certain scenes to turn out. “I had some sequences; a lot of explosions,” he said. “He was very good about showing us what the sequence would be like on his iPad. That helped tremendously.” Three films in, Josh Duhamel and Shia LaBeouf were looking forward to getting in on the action, even if it seemed dangerous. “A lot of the times they don’t let us do stuff like that, but Shia and I both teamed up on Michael to let us do this one stunt,” Duhamel recalled. “It was pretty nuts. They tied us on to these latches and they yank you 50 feet up in the air and they yank you back up, but it turned out to be really fun and this is the reason why I love these movies, ’cause you get to do stuff you don’t get to do otherwise.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . ‘Twilight’ actor surprises 2011 MTV Movie Awards audience as he presents Generation Award to his friend. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Reese Witherspoon accepts her Generation Award at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Getty Images When it was announced that Reese Witherspoon would receive the coveted Generation Award at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , we expected plenty of fanfare to surround her presentation and acceptance of the award — especially since her buddy Chelsea Handler and onetime co-stars Patrick Dempsey and Robert Pattinson were her A-list presenting team. What we did not expect, however, was Pattinson’s creative ad-libbing , which included an already-infamous “F bomb” and referring to Witherspoon as “33 percent lesbian.” MTV News caught up with Witherspoon right after her acceptance to find out what receiving the Generation Award meant to her and, most importantly, what she thought of the “Twilight” actor’s comments. About accepting the award in front of the massive Movie Awards audience, the actress said, “It was good — except for Rob Pattinson. I mean, really: He called me 33 percent lesbian, which was a gross underestimation of my lesbian-ness,” she joked. Really? What percentage would Witherspoon give herself, pray tell? “At least 55 [percent],” she said, laughing playfully. “I mean, what? Not enough.” (Check out photos of Robert Pattinson and other “Twilight” stars at this year’s big show!) With regard to Pattinson, Witherspoon seemed to shrug off whatever awkwardness he sustained during his presentation, and emphasized the fact that no matter what, the two of them are “really good friends.” “We laugh a lot,” Witherspoon said of their friendship, which began on the set of the 2004 drama “Vanity Fair” and continued as they worked together in this year’s romance “Water for Elephants.” “He’s cool. You have good friends, you have people you make lasting relationships [with]. It’s definitely a relationship I really value in my life,” she said sincerely. Jim has a special explanation for how one celeb ended up with her seat: “We have Nicki Minaj here with three empty seats. MTV gave her plenty of room for all of her personalities,” he joked about the presenter. Other seating assignments include R&B superstar Trey Songz sitting next to … “Super 8” director J.J.
