Diddy Thanks Fans, Twitter For Last Train To Paris’ Top 10 Debut

‘Y’all made this project a success,’ he tells Dirty Money supporters. By James Dinh Diddy-Dirty Money’s Dawn Richard, Diddy and Kalenna Harper Photo: Joe Scarnici/ WireImage In his latest video blog, Diddy credits the early success of Diddy-Dirty Money ‘s long-delayed album Last Train to Paris to his fans and Twitter. The project, which was estimated to sell just 65,000 copies in its first week, nabbed the #7 spot on next week’s Billboard albums chart with 101,000 copies sold. “Anybody that knows me, it’s rare when I’m extra happy, but today … this last two weeks, I’ve just been blown away by all the support that I’ve gotten from you guys,” the rapper says in the YouTube clip. “You already know I deal with a lot of hate, and I talk about that. But it’s also important to talk about when I’m dealing with a lot of love, and the love that y’all have shown me and the girls on this project … y’all made this project a success, and I want to say thank you.” While Diddy acknowledged the fact that the group didn’t score any #1 singles with the project (so far), he revealed that the hits are on the way with “Coming Home” and “Ass on the Floor.” The media mogul stressed, however, that he considered Paris to be one of the first albums where Twitter and viral hype trumped radio support. In addition to the Bad Boy CEO’s video, the trio gushed about defying early estimates in a statement: “Well, they were wrong. With the help of our fans and the tremendous power of Twitter our debut album skyrocketed to #7 on The Billboard 200 chart scanning more than 100k units. Also this week, our new single, ‘Coming Home’ broke through to the top ten on iTunes. This is an amazing start for a brand new group and for a debut album. We are so thankful!” Earlier this month, MTV News spoke with Diddy about the LP’s many delays. “The wait is over,” Diddy said. “We pushed our album back a bunch of times because we felt, to be honest, we weren’t ready. I think a lot of times artists make that mistake. They get locked into a date and they’re like, ‘Well, I told everybody my date was this.’ ” Did you pick up a copy of Last Train to Paris ? ‘Jersey Shore’ Star DJ Pauly D Working On Spin-Off

MTV pilot was shot in September. By Gil Kaufman “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D Photo: Bobby Bank/ WireImage You may be seeing a lot more of “Jersey Shore” star Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio in 2011. MTV announced Wednesday (December 22) that the network has signed an option deal for a series starring the perfectly coiffed club kid that will look at the Providence, Rhode Island, native’s life outside of the Shore. A pilot of the show was shot by 495 Productions, the company behind “Shore,” in September. “At the heart of ‘Jersey Shore’ is the unique and genuine cast and Pauly D truly embodies both qualities,” Chris Linn, executive vice president of programming and head of production for MTV, said in a statement. “He’s distinguished himself onscreen as the fun-loving, well-coiffed and dependable guy you can’t help but want to hang out with. We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that.” Along with pals Snooki, the Situation and the rest of the “Shore” gang, Pauly has helped turn the show into a cultural phenomenon. The third season of “Shore” will kick off January 6. Though he’s the first “Shore” castmember to get a shot at a spin-off series, like his housemates, Pauly D has been keeping busy when not filming the MTV show. He dropped his first single, “Beat Dat Beat,” last year and was nominated for the “America’s Best DJ” competition for the second year in a row. He’s also locked down a DJ residency in Las Vegas and will perform at “Disney’s Grad Nite 2011” at Magic Kingdom Park. But first, he’ll be on hand on New Year’s Eve with the gang to help ring in 2011 on MTV . Don’t miss “MTV New Year’s Bash,” starting at 10:30 p.m. ET on New Year’s Eve! ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast Joins Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull In ‘I Like It’ Video: Watch It Now!

Iglesias’ first single from the ‘Jersey Shore’ Soundtrack features the tanned crew sneaking into his show. By James Montgomery The cast of “Jersey Shore” in the “I Like It” video Photo: Interscope Have your fists recovered yet? During the 2010 MTV Movie Awards pre-show, we were treated to the world premiere of the video for “I Like It,” the first single off the upcoming ‘Jersey Shore’ Soundtrack, a booming, club-ready track featuring Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull and, yes, the entire cast of MTV’s breakout hit show. In the clip, all of your favorite “Jersey Shore” stars — Snooki, J-Woww, Pauly D, The Situation, to name just a few — do what they do best: crash a party, sneaking in to a packed, laser-lit club while Enrique and Pitbull rock hard onstage complete with a band (including a guitarist who looked suspiciously like Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman). Jersey’s finest go undercover as guitar techs, romance a bouncer and, yes, even pose as delivery men to gain access, eventually snagging some coveted backstage passes. And oh, yes, you can believe that once inside the club, much fist-pumping ensues, not to mention some hardcore flexing from the “Shore” fellas, and some super-sexy dance moves courtesy of the tanned and teriffic ladies. In addition to “I Like It,” the ‘Jersey Shore’ Soundtrack also features tracks from Lil Jon, LMFAO, Taio Cruz and Akon, and is due in stores July 20. The second season of “Jersey Shore” — which follows Snooki and crew down to Miami’s South Beach (and eventually back to Seaside Heights) — will premiere on Thursday, July 29, at 10pm ET/PT on MTV. ‘Jersey Shore’ Season-Two Preview Teases The Gang’s Miami Road Trip

New season premieres July 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. By Todd Gilchrist Snooki in season two of “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV News Can’t wait till July 29 for the “Jersey Shore” season-two premiere? Well, MTV News debuted an exclusive 13-minute clip from the new season during the MTV Movie Awards pre-show. Starting with a short recap of some of season one’s juiciest moments, fans can take a look at the setup of the new season and check in and see where the Shore-mates have been since the end of the last one. As an epic snowstorm descends on the Eastern Seaboard, the castmembers decide to head South to Miami, where they intend to bring their fist-pumping action to the topless beaches. Snooki reveals that “when she was done Snookin’ for love, she found an amazing gorilla juicehead,” with whom she’s enjoyed a two-month romance. But she says she’s open to getting in trouble, as long as the drinks are flowing down in Miami. “I feel like I’m going to be like a tornado — going from place to place destroying things.” After Snooki’s juicehead helps cover her in self-tanner — which she astutely points out that President Obama has raised taxes on — she and JWoww depart in a black SUV to make the trek down to Florida for season-two fun. Meanwhile, “brothers from another mother” Pauly D and “The Situation” hope to arrive in time to enjoy their pick of the plush Miami digs, but the duo make a detour in Myrtle Beach, where they load up on fireworks. Unfortunately, Pauly’s SUV gets stuck in the mud, and although they pass the time launching bottle rockets into the sky as an SOS for AAA, it ultimately takes two tow trucks and a new pair of Nikes to get Pauly and Sitch back on the road again. In another vehicle, Sammi “Sweetheart” announces unceremoniously that she and her season-one fella, Ronnie, have parted ways, and the two mutually agreed to be single. (We look forward to seeing how well that works out.) Ronnie in particular seems ready to be unfettered by long-term female companionship, although one of his well-wishing buddies warns him about “double-baggers,” girls whose attractiveness is so questionable that they require the guy to wear a bag over his head “in case hers falls off.” Finally, there’s Angelina, the self-professed “Kim Kardashian of Staten Island.” She announces that she’s looking forward to season two because she’s hoping it will give her a chance to “show everybody the real Angelina — not just the bitchy side.” That said, she freely admits that “the bitch of Staten Island is back and f—ing ready to party!” While Pauly and Sitch struggle to free themselves from the South Carolina mud, Snooki and JWoww arrive at a bar in Savannah, Georgia, where they try out local delicacies and turn down romantic advances. As they dine on fried pickles, a guy approaches with a pair of shot glasses and joins them for a drink. Snooki suggests that the guy “f—s his sister for a living,” but JWoww is a little kinder, saying he does not know how to hit on girls. If their opinions seem a little cruel, take comfort in the fact that the guy eventually offers his own version of iconic Jersey fist-pumping, which more or less earns all the criticisms that they volunteer about him. Check out the full clip online at midnight ET. Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com . Season two of “Jersey Shore” premieres Thursday, July 29, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Be there!

DJ Pauly D Ponders, Discusses the Ideal Woman

The Situation says his perfect girl could be “anyone.” When it comes to selecting a future wife (or trash bag for a typical Friday), he’s an equal-opportunity guy. DJ Pauly D (Paul Delvecchio) is little more selective than his buddy, however. “She’s gotta take care of herself,” Delvecchio said Sunday before deejaying at Las Vegas’s Palms Casino Resort. “She’s gotta be, like, drop-dead gorgeous.” Well, yeah. But does recent, likely hookup Paris Hilton match that description? “She’s gotta stand out in a crowd. She’s gotta take care of herself like I do.” DJ Pauly D takes care of himself. [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com] By “take care of herself,” Pauly D presumably means provide for herself, but his perfect woman would adhere to the same GTL motto (gym, tan, laundry) as he does. “A confident girl for Pauly D is what I need,” he says. “She’s gotta be beautiful.” We’re sensing some consistent themes here on Pauly D’s list of criteria. The second season of Jersey Shore began in Miami this spring. Pauly, Ronnie and The Situation shirtless are now back in the Garden State. The premiere is July 29. What can viewers expect? “So much more everything,” Delvecchio says. “More drama, fights, hookups, more everything. It was insane. I had the time of my life. I love Miami. We just killed it out there. You gotta be outside. The pool parties. The beach. The music. Nice tan. Good-looking people. That’s the ideal summer.”
