Britney Spears Adds DJ Pauly D To Femme Fatale Tour

‘Britney is one of my favorite performers and certainly one of this generation’s most influential artists,’ ‘Jersey Shore’ star says. By Jocelyn Vena “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D Photo: Tom Briglia/ FilmMagic A while back, there was a rumor that “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D would be an opening act on Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour . That rumor can now be confirmed as true. Pauly D will open for the singer on six of her August tour dates. He’s set to hit the road with Spears on August 17 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before his jaunt with her wraps on August 25 in Charlotte, South Carolina. “I am so excited to be performing on the Britney Spears Femme Fatale tour,” he said in a statement. “Britney is one of my favorite performers and certainly one of this generation’s most influential artists. It’s an amazing platform to connect with my fans around the country.” Spears currently has several artists opening for her, including Jessie and the Toy Boys, Nervo and Nicki Minaj. Pauly D served as Spears’ warm-up act at her gig in Las Vegas in March, where he spoke to MTV News about her influence on pop music . “What it means to DJ a concert like a Britney Spears concert or something like that, it’s an association with monsters like Britney Spears and it just legitimizes your career,” he explained at the Palms Hotel and Casino, where Spears electrified the stage just days before she dropped her album. “And it’s just fun being onstage with Britney Spears performing like she’s performing. I love it. I couldn’t ask for more.” And if fans are expecting Pauly to DJ some of the singer’s greatest hits, they’d better think again. “A DJ should not play the artist’s songs at her concert ’cause she has to perform these songs,” he said. “I’m not going to be playing any Britney before she performs; maybe after. I’ll let her perform, let her shine ’cause it’s her night.” DJ Pauly D will join Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour on the following dates:

Tracy Morgan: “Donald Trump Has An Illegitimate Black Son” [VIDEO]

‘Daily Show’ guest Tracy Morgan had a message for Donald Trump, who has joined a group of “birthers” who insist our President is not a United States citizen. “I just want to reply to the Donald Trump thing,” Morgan said. “Donald, I got [Obama’s birth] certificate. It ain’t in Hawaii, it’s in Brooklyn. Come and get it if you want to see it.” Then Morgan claimed that he had people digging up dirt on Trump, and that his investigators had discovered Trump had fathered a child in Harlem that he doesn’t acknowledge. “Little black boy with blue eyes and hair that go like this,” was how Morgan described Trump’s illegitimate son. “Come see that boy. Come see that boy, Donald.” Watch the hilarious clip courtesy of TVSQUAD.com RELATED POSTS: Tracy Morgan Says Sarah Palin Is “Good Masturbation Material” During NBA Pre-Game Show [VIDEO] Tracy Morgan Recovering From Kidney Transplant

Charlie Sheen and Pauly D: A Boston Love-Fest

Charlie Sheen may not have any opening acts with him on tour (sorry, Randy Quaid ) but did receive a boost last night from none other than Pauly D. The Jersey Shore star, upon joining Sheen on stage in Boston, told him, “I wanna be you for one day!” Sheen played along and got the crowd into it. “Are we happy to see this young man? We told you there would be surprises,” he said. “I told you, none of this is planned!” Really, Charlie? Get out. Charlie Sheen and Pauly D in Boston Pauly D wasted no time plugging his Jersey Shore spinoff , asking Sheen to play wingman: “I got a new show coming up and I want you to be on it.” Sheen replied, “What about just one episode and we’ll make it epic!” and Pauly D agreed. “I look forward to it, you’re awesome,” Sheen told Pauly. “You’re hotter in person!” After Pauly D left, Sheen said, “I don’t watch the show… but I can tell he’s very popular here. He’s a handsome bastard.” Sadly, this was the highlight of an otherwise bad night at Agganis Arena.

Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale Is ‘All Club Bangers,’ Pauly D Says

‘The hands immediately go up when that beat kicks [in],’ the ‘Jersey Shore’ DJ tells MTV News live about ‘Hold It Against Me.’ By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Britney Spears in her “Hold It Against Me” video Photo: Jive Britney’s “Hold It Against Me” has at least one fan fist-pumping: Pauly D. And he’s not alone! MTV News caught up with the “Jersey Shore” DJ via Skype to gauge his reaction to Britney Spears’ hotly anticipated new track, “Hold it Against Me,” and the accompanying video , which premiered Thursday on MTV. He was feeling under the weather during our live “MTV First: Britney Spears’ ‘Hold It Against Me’ Video Premiere” discussion but kept his appointment: “It’s all good, man,” he said. “I’m a warrior!” Increasingly known for his night job as a DJ, the reality-show star gave a strong endorsement for the track’s club-worthiness. “It’s a major, fist-pumping track,” he said of the reactions the song has gotten when he’s put it on. “The hands immediately go up when that beat kicks [in]. It’s such a hard beat. It’s like ‘ba-ba-ba,’ they’re fist-pumping to that track. It has energy. I love it!” When Pauly is working a room, he’s careful to stay in tune with the vibe of the crowd. A track like Britney’s latest single is exactly the type of song he prefers to keep in his arsenal as a secret weapon. It’s the type of song he’s dubbed a “go-to” track when DJing. “I don’t make any set [lists],” he explained. “I read the crowd. And then if I’m playing something and I’m kind of losing them a little bit, I know if I drop that track, I bring ’em right back!” So how might a great DJ follow up a “go-to” song like “Hold it Against Me”? “You gotta keep that momentum after that track, so I drop my track immediately after that, ‘Beat Dat Beat (It’s Time To),’ ” he offered, in something of a good-natured plug for his own single. Pauly D’s position of privilege as an MTV star and budding DJ has, in addition to the obvious perks, afforded him an opportunity Britney fans would salivate over: the chance to hear much of her forthcoming new album, Femme Fatale, which doesn’t drop until March 29. “Seriously, it’s all full of club bangers,” he revealed. “And I’m so excited about it, because I cannot wait to play ’em in the club. Literally, you can play the majority of that album in the club. I love the way she went to that route.” In a move that displayed his increasing media savvy, Pauly refused to let any song titles slip, but he did reiterate that “they’re all club bangers. They’re a lot like ‘Hold it Against Me.’ [ Femme Fatale is full of] major, major, club-banging tracks.” Do you agree with Pauly’s “club banger” assessment of “Hold It Against Me”? Let us know in the comments! Don’t miss “Jersey Shore,” airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET on MTV. ‘Jersey Shore’ Star Pauly D Reveals Spin-Off Details

‘I’m still the same guy that was DJing for 200 people,’ he says of showing his new life as an in-demand celebrity DJ. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Pauly D Photo: MTV News “Jersey Shore” star Pauly D was nothing if not at home when he stopped by the MTV News offices on Wednesday (January 5), joking about his whirlwind publicity tour before the new season’s premiere and marveling at how crazy his life has become. It’s a home he’s going to be getting used to, as the record-spinning hotshot has nabbed his own MTV spin-off show . The show’s format is still in the works — Pauly and his pals shot a pilot in September — but the reality star gave us a good idea about what the show’s going to be about. “We threw around some ideas that maybe could be about my life, before the show and now after the show, maybe bring my entourage along,” he told us. Pauly went on to add that the show will focus on his fish-out-of-hair-gel story, as the Rhode Island native went from an anonymous DJ to the star of the biggest show in MTV history. “It’ll be probably along the lines of, I used to be this DJ in Rhode Island, DJing two sets a week, hustling, promoting,” he explained, “and all of a sudden, I’m on this show, and now they’re sending private jets for me to DJ for these huge crowds, yet I’m still the same guy that was DJing for 200 people, just loving life.” Said Chris Linn, MTV’s production head, “[Pauly’s] distinguished himself onscreen as the fun-loving, well-coiffed and dependable guy you can’t help but want to hang out with. We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that.” The new season of “Jersey Shore” premieres Thursday night at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
