Source: Picture by Tambako the Jaguar / Getty Couple Dies From Bubonic Plague After Eating Raw Rodent Meat According to the BBC , Mongolian couple died after eating raw rodent meat intended as a “folk remedy”. The couple allegedly ate the meat and contracted the bubonic plague passed away shortly after. A six-day quarantine was declared on May 1 in the Bayan Olgii province in Mongolia, which sits by the borders to both China and Russia. The reason for consuming the raw meat, you ask? It was reportedly supposed to bring good health and the rodent the two ate was a marmot, which has been known to carry the plague. It’s rare for the bubonic plague to show up in humans these days, but unless treated with antibiotics, it proves to be deadly, as it did in Europe and Asia centuries ago. 118 people were in direct contact with the couple, including tourists from Switzerland, Sweden, South Korea, and Kazakhstan. “After the quarantine [was announced] not many people, even locals, were in the streets for fear of catching the disease,” US Peace Corps volunteer Sebastian Pique said. Those who had interacted with the couple were treated with antibiotics for prophylaxis. Stats say the bubonic plague has a 30 to 60 percent fatality rate. The last time a case was reported in Mongolia was in 2017.

According to a new report, the venue will be heavily guarded to avoid a breakout of issues that occurred last week during a vigil for Hussle. TMZ reports : Sources familiar with Nipsey’s Celebration of Life at the Staples Center arena this Thursday tell us there will be an abundance of security from multiple agencies and organizations — all with the intention of keeping the memorial peaceful and drama-free. We’re told security on hand Thursday will feature a mix of muscle — from members of the LAPD, members of the Nation of Islam, as well as Staples Center personnel. Our sources say the LAPD is only on hand to offer assistance … helping to move traffic, keep the peace and to step in if needed. The reason for such a strong presence … our sources say a big part of it has to do with Nipsey’s family’s wishes in wanting to prevent further violence — especially in the wake of the chaos that broke out at Nipsey’s L.A. vigil last week … which cops now say left 2 people shot. According to a search warrant — obtained by TMZ — cops are still on the hunt for the person who allegedly pulled the trigger with the intent of killing others. Justin Bieber tried to celebrate April Fools Day on Monday. But the singer just ended up looking like an offensive fool himself. The artist messed up in a pretty major way. In honor of the annual joke-based holiday that falls on April 1, the global superstar shared a sonogram photo on his Instagram page several hours ago. He didn’t include a caption with the snapshot, but the implication was clear: He and Hailey Baldwin are expecting their first child! How exciting, right? Especially in light of Bieber recently saying he was struggling and in need of prayers and looking for ways to turn his life around. What better way to derive purpose than from being a father, you know? Except it turns out this was all a misguided prank by Bieber, one he wasn’t content to let go even after many on the Internet questioned the validity of the pregnancy claim. Yes, even after Baldwin remarked “very funny” underneath the picture, Justin continued to hammer the pregnancy rumor home. “If U thought it was April fools,” he wrote as a caption to an image of Baldwin at the doctor (below), seemingly having her womb and impending baby checked. The pop star did later confess the original sonogram was fake, adding another sonogram of a puppy and writing: “Wait omg is that a,,, APRIL FOOLS.” But the damage had already been done. It’s fine to joke about Donald Trump sleeping with Kim Kardashian . Or Jenelle Evans losing her home because it sank into the ground. Those are victimless references that are pretty clearly not serious from the moment you read the headline. But one in four women have suffered the painful tragedy of a miscarriage. Countless others have difficulty getting pregnant, spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on fertility treatments and still, very often, not having success. In other words: This is an extremely sensitive and personal issue for so many families. It’s really not a joking matter. At all. And many social media users jumped all over Bieber for turning it into one. “Can’t only be me who thinks it’s bloody disgusting that Justin and Hailey Bieber lied about being pregnant????” one Twitter user wrote, while another added: “Every single year, someone does this prank [and] we call them out for being s–t, yet because it’s a huge celeb we’re just gonna let it slide [and] laugh????” No. We’re not. We’re gonna call Justin out for it, too Not only is it insensitive and inappropriate, it’s simply unoriginal. Just days before he made this terrible quip, Bieber actually opened up about his mental health struggles, earning sympathy from his legion of fans around the world. “I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep-rooted issues that I have as most of us have, so that I don’t fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be,” he wrote on March 25, referencing a future child and adding of why he won’t be touring any time soon: “Music is very important to me but nothing comes before my family and my health.” We still wish you a lot of luck, JB. They will also have to have 144 hours of firearms training and have a valid concealed weapon permit. The House Education Committee, which is led by Republicans, passed this school safety bill with a 11-5 vote. The bill is tied to the “Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act” which says “each sheriff may establish a Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program and appoint certain volunteer school employees as school guardians.” As of January 2019, there are 726 armed volunteer guardians in 25 Florida counties. The act was passed last year after a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the Parkland city of Florida left 17 people dead. “The more people that are there to defend students, to defend other teachers, the better,” Republican Rep. Jennifer Sullivan of Eustis said. “If a teacher does not want to go through the program, I don’t want them to go through the program.” The passing of this bill is opposed by teachers unions as well as Democratic representatives who don’t believe teachers should double as law enforcement. “Teachers want to teach children and broaden children’s minds,” Democratic Rep. Susan Valdes of Tampa told the Sun Sentinel. “If they wanted to be a cop, they would have gone to police academy and become a cop.” Republicans feel that with a bill like this in place, it will help prevent mass shootings at schools from happening. “If this bill was in place before Parkland, how many less lives would have been lost?” Republican Amber Mariano said in defense of the new legislation. Jan-Michael Vincent, a veteran actor best known for his role in the 1980s action series Airwolf, has passed away from cardiac arrest. He was 74 years old. According to TMZ, which broke this sad piece of new, Vincent actually passed away back on February 10 at a North Carolina hospital. The celebrity gossip outlet adds that the actor was cremated and that no autopsy was performed. As for his acting resume, Vincent had not been seen in anything since the 2002 film White Boy. But he was an enormous star during the heyday of Airwolf, raking in the most money of any actor on television at the time at $200,000 per episode. The series centered on his helicopter pilot character of Stringfellow Hawke, yet only lasted a couple seasons (from 198 4 through 1986) because Vincent fell victim to cocaine abuse. His career would suffer from this addiction and Vincent would develop an infection in 2012 that caused his right leg to be amputated. Prior to striking it big with Airwolf, Vincent starred alongside Burt Reynolds in 1978’s Hooper and alongside Kim Basinger in 1981’s Hard Country. He was nominated for Golden Globes for his work in 1971’s Going Home and the 1983 miniseries The Winds Of War, while also enjoying a key role in John Millius’ beloved surfing drama Big Wednesday. In addition to Airwolf, Vincent appeared in a number of other TV series, such as Police Story, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Nash Bridges. Just a week after Danielle Staub finalized her divorce from Marty Caffrey, she revealed that she is dating Olivier Maier . Now, the two of them are engaged … and they don’t plan to waste any time. Brody Stevens, a stand-up comedian and actor best known to many for his role in The Hangover, was found dead on Friday of an apparent suicide. He was 48 years old. Reads a statement from Brody’s rep, released shortly after this sad piece of news was made public: “Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community. He pushed creative boundaries and his passion for his work and his love of baseball were contagious. “He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. “We respectfully ask for privacy at this time.” Stevens reportedly took his own life via hanging. Over the years, Stevens had been very candid regarding his struggles with depression and anxiety. On his Comedy Central show, Brody Stevens: Enjoy It , the writer and his friends often talked about his mental state and the challenges he overcame both prior to making it big and even as he grew more and more famous. In one clip, Zach Galifianakis said the following: “Brody was really in a dark place… I think he thought that was how his life was going to be and I think that got him depressed.” According to The Blast sources, Los Angeles Police Department officers were dispatched to the Brody’s home around 1 p.m. on Friday. This website has obtained audio from the emergency dispatchers, where officials described the scene as a “hanging.” That said, no official cause of death has been announced just yet. Stevens appeared as Officer Foltz in the 2009 comedy The Hangover. He was also in The Hangover Part II as Kingsley Guy, which was his last feature-length film role. The star had also stopped by talk shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, while serving as regular panelist on Chelsea Lately. In 2015, he appeared in the short films Near Fall and Alone Together. Following Brody’s reported suicide, those who knew him well took to social media in order to express their shock and sorrow.
