Adolescent Authority: Oregon Town Elects 18-Year Old As Mayor

History was made during the 2018 midterm elections in more ways than one. 18-year old Ben Simons received 41 percent of the vote to win the mayoral race in the small town of Yoncalla, Oregon — whose population is just a little more 1000 people. Simons told KEZI 9 News : “My age shouldn’t be my qualifying or disqualifying factor, that I really got the skill set and the ambition to take on this and I hope to do good for this community. “ Simons is also a city councilor and a volunteer firefighter. As mayor, he wants to make sure that money is being spent to the best of their abilities, by maintaining streets, infrastructure and anything else that’s necessary. Ben Simons will take over as mayor on Jan. 1, 2019.

Indy 500 2010 Winner is Dario Franchitti!

200 exciting laps has passed and Indy 500 2010 has proclaimed its winner. The weather has been perfect and everyone has been so excited to witness the race. The crowd then welcomes this year’s Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti, the Scottish racer from Tennessee. The commentators observed Franchitti seemed to be just about out of gas, so his victory could be just out of luck. He was joined by his wife Ashley Judd as they celebrate his great victory. This year’s win of Franchitti is his second. His first Indy win was in year 2007. He was followed by Dan Wheldon and Alex Lloyd came in 3rd. Last year’s winner Helio Castroneves is in 9th place. As to IndyCar points standings, Castroneves came in third but not enough to surpass Franchitti who’s in 5th place. The controversial lady racer Danica Patrick made it to 5th place this year after being by the booed by the crowd during the Qualifying round. It just mean that it would be her 87th race and hasn’t won even once. Great race as it is. See you all next year. As the Indy 500 race will take place in less than an hour from now, everyone is surely very excited who’s going to win. Same crowd would also be looking forward what will happen to Auto Racer Danica Patrick race today. They let out their boos to the racer during her speech to the audience after the qualifying race. She finished 23rd in the qualifying and has been blaming everything to her car. She blamed the problem on an “absolutely awful” race car and said “it’s not my fault.” As for her racing record, she can’t boast quite anything as she only won once in all her 86 races. The crowd didn’t like what she said thus letting out their boos to her. For fans it’s a cardinal sin for drivers to badmouth their crews. Patrick was stunned about what happened. “I’ve had boos over the years but not like this,” Patrick said. “It doesn’t make me feel good, no.” she added. Patrick said she never meant to criticize her team, Andretti Autosport, and made that clear to each crew member afterward. Let’s all find how her race will be.
