Rachel Crow On Simon Cowell: ‘I Really Love Him’

‘X Factor’ vet, who recently signed deals with Nickelodeon and Columbia Records, tells MTV News, ‘Everything worked out perfectly.’ By Christina Garibaldi Rachel Crow Photo: MTV News It was the most shocking elimination of the first season of “The X Factor” when Rachel Crow was sent home in December. The 13-year-old, known for her infectious personality and smile, dropped to her knees in tearful exit, saying to the crowd, “I hope this is not my ending. You know what? I know it’s not, and I will go so far. I promise you, and I love you.” It seems Crow was right: Just last month, the young star signed an overall talent deal with Nickelodeon to star in her own comedy series and signed a record deal with Columbia Records. MTV News caught up with Crow recently in Los Angeles, who revealed that she has no regrets about her time on “Factor” or her fifth-place elimination. “A lot of people ask me if I looked back, what would be one thing that I would change? And, nothing,” Crow said. “Everything worked out perfectly.” A big supporter of Crow was her mentor on the show, Simon Cowell, who said after her elimination, “Like I said from the very first time I met you, we’re going to be hearing a lot more about Rachel Crow. I give you my word on that.” Crow revealed that she and Cowell have kept in contact and that his support is a big reason for her success. “I text him, funny enough,” she shared. “I love him; he’s just a really nice guy. “It’s really awesome to have someone like that on your team. I really love him, and I look up to him as well and what he’s done for me. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I am today, so it’s really amazing getting to say that to people. I’m very thankful.” Yet, Cowell isn’t the only “X Factor” vet Crow keeps in touch with: She said she remains friends with many of the contestants as well as former judge Paula Abdul. “I do keep in touch with Paula a lot; we tweet back and forth, which is awesome,” Crow said. “I do keep in touch with a lot of the contestants, such as Drew , Marcus, I do keep in touch with Stereo Hogzz, Melanie [Amaro] , a lot of people from the show, Chris Rene , just pretty much everyone that was top 10.” So what was Crow’s reaction to the firing of both Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger ? “Well, I think they’re both really great people, and they’re gonna do amazing things,” she said. It’s now looking likely that Britney Spears will fill one of the vacant judges’ seats . The pop star was reportedly offered the position and a $10 million paycheck. “That’d be cool,” Crow said of Spears being a judge. “I’m just kinda moved past it right now.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Rachel Crow

‘X Factor’ Backstage: Rachel Crow’s Exit Still Stings

Nicole Scherzinger puts last week’s drama behind her to focus on Josh Krajcik and her results-show performance. By Jim Cantiello Rachel Crow performs on “X Factor” Photo: FOX MTV News’ own Jim Cantiello is exclusively covering “The X Factor” rehearsals. Read on for his fly-on-the-wall backstage report! LOS ANGELES — One week after one of the most dramatic eliminations in reality-TV history, the energy on the “X Factor” set is still uneasy. Rachel Crow’s sunny presence is noticeably absent from backstage, with the remaining four contestants taking the semifinals deadly serious. The $5 million contract is on everyone’s minds, and they’re not letting anything distract them — not even Rachel’s shocking exit . Meanwhile, the judge who facilitated Rachel’s booting, Nicole Scherzinger, was still visibly upset days after the results show. Her main-show interview, normally shot right outside the stage doors, was relocated to a quiet third-floor area for extra privacy. She couldn’t even talk about the incident in complete sentences until Tuesday. But now she’s focused on making her remaining contestant, Josh Krajcik, the first U.S. “X Factor” winner, as well as prepping a brand-new single she’ll be debuting live on Thursday night’s results show. The million-dollar question: Will the audience that booed Nicole a week ago be receptive to a performance? We’ll know soon enough! Nicole doesn’t have to stress about any more hairy decisions. From here on out, the judges have zero voting power. It’s just America’s vote, and the contestants are nervous that they won’t have their mentors in their corner when the results are revealed. Adding to the stress: a mystery bug that’s making its way around the crew. Both Chris Rene and Marcus Canty have suffered through the X-virus in previous weeks. Now the show’s last remaining female, Melanie Amaro, has been floored with it. She was more than 30 minutes late to press interviews on Monday and she barely got through her interviews with the main show, yet when it was time to hit the stage for rehearsal, you’d never know she was battling a bug. Musically, expect some exciting things from all four contestants. Chris Rene is trying his hand at a new instrument. Josh is determined to put his unique stamp on a song we’ve all heard on reality singing competitions several times before. Despite being in the bottom two three weeks in a row, Marcus refuses to give up and is rehearsing harder than ever. And Melanie has been practicing a power note that may shatter your windows. And finally, “The X Factor” was able to secure private dressing rooms for the remaining four contenders, but the show won’t let their egos get too big. After two days, they had to give them up for another production. The Cowell giveth and the Cowell taketh away. Catch Jim on “The X Factor Pepsi Preshow Live,” streaming at 7 p.m. ET tonight on TheXFactorUSA.com !

Nicole Scherzinger Speaks on Rachel Crow Ousting

For the record, Nicole Scherzinger did not send Rachel Crow home on Thursday night. This X Factor judge instead chose to let America decide between the 13-year old and Marcus Canty, yet Scherzinger is the panelist facing the harshest fan rebuke after Crow’s name was called for elimination . “My heart comes from the right place, so I get really sensitive when people are negative,” the former Pussycat Doll told reporters after the show. “Don’t [critics] know I only want the best for every single person?” Nicole added that she thought Canty would be selected by voters, though they never got a chance to hear Crow’s incredible survival song . “When I saw that look on her face, [I felt] that I had let her down, like I dropped her,” Scherzinger, who shed tears for 30 minutes after the episode, said. “I could have been holding on and I dropped her. She is the sunshine of our show, so it’s hard to see her cry.” Crow, however, has come out and said the public should not blame Nicole , while the young crooner’s fortunes are already looking up: sources say Disney has requested a meeting with Rachel.

Rachel Crow Breaks Down After Elimination On “The X-Factor USA” [RECAP]

View original post here:

Last night was an emotional episode of “The X-Factor USA” as one of our favorite contestants, Rachel Crow, was eliminated. Upon receiving news of getting the boot off the show, the 13 year old broke down and cried her eyes out, which I’m almost positive made everyone at home shed a tear or two, including myself.  Rachel broke down on the stage, and was picked up by her mentor, Simon Cowell as she screamed for her mother causing America to point the finger at Nicole who left Rachel’s fate in America’s hands.  Check out a video of Rachel’s elimination below. Rachel’s a super star and I’m sure that we will be seeing more of her in the future! Because of Rachel’s elimination, Marcus Canty was saved to move on to the next round. Both Marcus and Rachel received a ton of support from their Twitter followers who encouraged them both to keep their heads up! The competition is heating up!! Who do you want to win??

The X Factor Results Show: Down to Four…

Another young contestant got sent home this week on The X Factor. A week after Drew Ryniewicz was reduced to tears, the same fate befell 13-year old Rachel Crow, who fell into the bottom two and then got eliminated after the judges deadlocked and the show left the final decision up to viewers. After falling into her mother’s arms following the reading of the verdict, Crow – whose Tuesday night performances you can watch HERE – composed herself and said: “I love you so much, everybody, for voting for me and thank you for giving me this because without you I am nothing. I hope this is not my ending. I know it’s not and I will go so far. I promise you!” What do you think? Did Rachel deserve to go home this week?
