‘I also get to perform original music and sing and dance,’ actress says of her new Nickelodeon show. By Jocelyn Vena Victoria Justice Photo: MTV News At age 17, Victoria Justice is already a household name to fans of Nickelodeon. With roles on shows like Shelby Marx on “iCarly” and Lola Martinez on “Zoey 101” already under her belt, she’s ready to make a name for herself as the star of her own show “Victorious,” playing the show’s lead, Victoria “Tori” Vega. The show is set to premiere on Saturday night (March 26) after the Kids’ Choice Awards, and Justice said that getting her own show is a lot more work than having a supporting role on someone else’s. “When I was on ‘Zoey 101’ I had a lot of time off,” she admitted to MTV News. “But now if I ever have time off I end up doing press interview, so I’m always busy.” Not that she’s complaining — she appreciates the opportunity she’s been given and she loves the work. But just what is her new show about? “I play a girl named Tori Vega and she’s kind of suddenly accepted to this performance arts high school, and from there it’s her dealing with all these crazy characters that go there and normal teen problems like trying to fit in and cute boys,” she explained. Not only will she be able to show off her acting skills week after week, but she says that the show gives her chance to show another side of herself. “I also get to perform original music and sing and dance,” she added. “[That] makes it a lot of fun.” Are you excited to see Victoria’s new show?
