We all remember Soulja Boy’s viral rant about Tyga not having the biggest comeback of the year, which sparked elite memes and viral videos that lasted for months. Then, there was the recent wave of the rapper being accused of hanging out with his billion ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner following her break-up with Travis Scott, sending people into a frenzy thinking he was clobbering her lip-injection cakes once again. Reality is, he was probably just following her around to get the paparazzi talking so he could cash in on some clout tokens. It was just last week Tyga sent everyone on Instagram into a frenzy after posting a picture with his new Ferrari and a pair of Travis Scott Jordans on his feet . All jokes aside, Tyga has been selling records for almost 10 years now, but the reason for this signing is that he’s now looking to expand his worldwide reach. When asked about the signing, Tyga exclusively told Variety : “They definitely understand the global brand,” he says of the company. “I have a lot of fans worldwide — in places I’ve never been like South America, and in places I have been like Asia and Europe. They can help bring that to a larger scale. Doing it independently, you don’t really have those teams to help worldwide. Sony, if you look at the history from what they’ve done from Pharrell to Beyonce to Adele — then you look at Lil Nas X, one of their new artists that’s blown up this year — they’ve done a lot for artists globally, for their brand. Even though Kenya Moore is returning for Season 12 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta , her love life isn’t doing nearly as well as her reality career. Indeed, in September we learned that she regained her peach but lost her love, as she announced that she’s divorcing Marc Daly. Now, we finally know why. Dude wanted her to give up her whole life for him, then went and cheated on her left and right. On Thursday, Us Weekly reported that Marc Daly was cheating on Kenya, and this wasn’t just a single mistress or a one-time thing. “Marc has had multiple affairs on Kenya,” the insider reveals. “She walked away from her career for him,” the source observes. “And,” the insider notes. “He had no problem with that.” The source then accuses: “and no problem disrespecting her.” Just weeks ago, on September 19, Kenya announced that her marriage is over already. “It is with profound sadness that I regret to inform my fans that I am divorcing my husband, Marc Daly,” Kenya began. Her statement went out of its way to be vague. “Due to recent and ongoing circumstances,” she explained. “I can no longer continue in the marriage.” That could be anything and everything, and she knew it. “My sole concern and focus is and will always be my daughter, Brooklyn,” Kenya correctly added. Once you create a person, you owe them everything. The best of your attention, your patience, your love, and your time. She goes on to refer to Brooklyn as “my miracle baby.” Notably, Kenya gave birth to Brooklyn past the age at which doctors generally recommend a pregnancy. Kenya affirmed: “She was made in love and true commitment.” Clearly, that last line was a reference to Marc’s cheating, possibly intended to point fans in that direction without saying anything directly. Finally, Kenya concluded: “I ask for our privacy to be respected moving forward.” Not to be all that’s what they all say , but generally, most statements aboud divorce, separation, breaking up, or a family death end with that line. Up to a point, it’s a very reasonable request, but they know that fans will be curious. And, of course, reality stars and other celebrities know that their cultural relevance is largely contingent upon fans keeping up with their lives. It’s obviously hugely disappointing to hear that Marc is allegedly a no good cheater. One, that’s hugely unfair to Kenya, a human being with feelings. It’s also unfair to Brooklyn, though she doesn’t know that yet. But as you may recall, Marc was aggressively camera-shy, to the point where they had a secret wedding that almost got Kenya fired on the spot. His reason for avoiding The Real Housewives of Atlanta was that he felt that the show portrays black men in a negative light. In particular, he resented how black men seemed to be shown to be worse partners in comparison to white men. He was absolutely right to say that. People have written entire dissertations on reality shows and this one in particular. Reality television rewards bad bheavior in its stars, but has a particularly negative effect upon public perceptions of black stars. Eventually, Marc did agree to appear on the show. But he can’t blame Bravo’s cameras for his infidelity, now can he? Unfortunately, someone can be right about an important issue and still be a garbage person in their private life. Now, the Bachelor Nation knows for sure who was selected as Bachelor and has even met the new season’s contestants . But Mike Johnson was an incredibly popular contender: handsome, charming, and fresh on the minds of fans. He will not be the franchise’s first black Bachelor — and he and former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay have something to say about that. Rachel Lindsay was the first black Bachelorette in the entire franchise. As long overdue as her role as the leading lady was, The Bachelor series has gone on for nearly two decades without a black leading man. When Rachel was asked about this inexcusably overdue milestone, she was very diplomatic — but spoke her mind. “I think Peter seems like a very nice guy. He seems lovely,” she tactfully begins. “This is absolutely nothing against him,” she emphasizes. “But how many Peters have we seen before?” She answers her own question: “What season are we on? 24. So, we’ve seen 24 Peters.” “I’m bored,” Rachel expresses. “And it’s nothing personal against him.” “I want to be hopeful, but when you have a contestant like Mike Johnson, who seems to check all the boxes, how is he not the Bachelor ?” she asks. “I don’t understand,” Rachel laments. “I’m sure they have some reason for not picking him, and I’m going to trust in that.” “But at the same time,” she notes. “The system isn’t working in giving us a Bachelor who is a person of color.” “So we need to change the system,” Rachel suggests. “Something has to be done. Break the rules, step outside the box, give the people what they want.” When Mike Johnson sat down with Entertainment Tonight , they obviously asked him about Rachel’s views. “Congratulations to Peter first and foremost. Then in regards to what Rachel was saying, I do agree with Rachel,” Mike begins. He agrees that “that after 24 Bachelors, a black Bachelor should have been cast.” “But at the same time, ABC has been successful,” Mike acknowledges. “They know what they’re doing for their audience.” “They know what they’re looking for,” he points out. “I wasn’t the guy they were looking for at the moment.” “I did [say I thought it was going to be him],” Mike says of new leading man Peter Weber. “But that wasn’t because ABC told me.” “I just felt that way, and I will always be honest with the way I feel,” he explains. “And I felt that for what they were looking for,” Mike continues. “That Peter would be a really good fit.” “Why do I think it wasn’t me? I have no idea,” he admits. “I can only speak on my personality and the wonderful man that I am,” Mike adds. “I do know that Peter and I are two completely different people — both good people, kind-hearted people,” Mike observes. “But I do feel that I’m a bit more outspoken than Peter,” he assesses. “I’m a bit louder than Peter is. I have tattoos, and the obvious, I’m black.” “So we are very diverse and different in that regard as well,” he points out, gently acknowledging that race may be a deciding factor. “And we like different women.” Mike says. “I want to make sure the focus is centered around love because that’s what this show is about.” “So,” he continues. “Peter and I also are attracted to two different types of women as well.” When it comes to diverse casting, Mike has a lot to say: “Two parts on that — I think of diversity more than just black and white.” “And yes, Peter has a Cuban mom, but let’s just be honest — he’s white, right?” he says. That could be a controversial statement, but it’s important ot remember that Cuban-Americans exist across a racial and ethnic spectrum. “And that’s just being completely transparent,” Mike emphasizes. “I think that there should be an Asian lead, an Indian lead… diversity is not just black and white,” he says. “It’s not just salt and pepper.” “I feel that Rachel is extremely intelligent,” Mike correctly states. “She’s saying that from a statistical standpoint…” “if Peter likes one thing — not saying what he does like and he doesn’t like,” he says carefully. “But if he likes Caucasian women for example, then there may be a higher percentage of it being a Caucasian Bachelorette,” Mike reasons. “But I do know for a fact that ABC chooses based on personality,” he adds. “Who’s to say that one of the women of color may not be the Bachelorette next?” “But on Peter’s season,” Mike suggests. “He may have a higher likelihood of picking a woman who is Caucasian.” Honestly? I had never thought about how there’s a cyclical effect — more white Bachelors mean more white contestants. And since those contestants form (most of) the pool for the next Bachelorette, the cycle continues on and on. ABC’s hands aren’t tied by that, of course, but it does make it easier to appease racist fans by keeping most of the cast as white as snow on a golf course. While the United States was spared the brunt of Hurricane Dorian's impact after a close call, the storm brought utter devastation to the Bahamas, which may never fully recover from the impact. As a result, many who were loaded up and ready to assist in the clean-up efforts in Florida (or Alabama, if you went by President Donald John Trump's forecast), decided to set out for the Bahamas instead. Among those who made the trip were several members of the Duggar family, the controversial TLC reality stars turned humanitarians. And while assisting with hurricane relief efforts is generally a rather admirable pursuit, just about every project the Duggars undertake is motivated by their endless pursuit of the almighty dollar. Now, an investigation by some of their critics say their Bahamas trip was no different – and they may have done more harm than good during their time in the ravaged nation. Take a look: 1. The Team Jason, James, John David, and Jana Duggar all made the trip, along with their brother-in-law Austin Forsyth. As you can see, the oft-maligned Jana Duggar didn’t make the cut for the group photo. 2. Odd Woman Out Many fans were upset that the Duggars seemed to be downplaying the contributions of the only female volunteer – especially since this particular female seems to spend all her time supporting her family members while getting none of the attention or credit. But those Jana-related complaints soon gave way to even more troubling concerns. 3. Keeping Mum Typically, something like volunteering as part of a hurricane relief effort is something that the Duggars would go on crowing about for months – admirable, and positive PR for a family that needs it. 4. All Is Not Well But if you follow them on social media, you’ve likely noticed that they’re strangely quiet aboug their time in the Bahamas. It’s like they were never there. Why is this, you ask? 5. Austin Comes Home Joy-Anna Duggar posted this picture to celebrate Austin’s return just a few days after he left for the Bahamas, and as far as we can tell, the trip was never mentioned again by her or anyone else. 6. Helping or Hurting? The reason for this unexpected silence is not that the Duggars decided, for once, to be humble about their “humanitarian” efforts. Well, that didn’t take long. Just weeks after she caught Javi Marroquin cheating on her in her own home, Lauren Comeau seems ready to forgive and forget. Earlier this month, we reported that Lauren had moved back in with Javi . (Understandably, she retreated to her home state of Maine after catching her fiance banging one of his CrossFit students in their bathroom.) Now, the couple has taken another step toward reconciliation by making their relationship Instagram official. Javi posted the pic below on Instagram this week. At first glance, it may seem to be nothing more than a precious moment featuring his 1-year-old son witn Lauren. But on closer inspection, you’ll notice that those are Lauren’s hands helping little Eli with his first steps. Javi captioned the pic, “Cherish these moments.” Clearly, he believes there are some moments in life during which relationship strife and other stressors must be set aside so that one can be fully present in the moment. Javi probably takes a similar view of illicit bathroom assignations, but that’s a conversation for another time. Anyway, as much as Teen Mom 2 fans might have preferred that Javi finally be held accountable for his actions, it seems he’s been let off the hook yet again. “Lauren is back home,” a source confirmed to Radar. “They are trying to work on things.” Judging by her Instrgam page, it seems that Lauren has been back in Dover for at least two weeks, meaning she was very quick to give Javi a second chance. However, many fans have pointed out that she’s still not wearing her engagement ring, as evidenced by the photo above. Obviously, this is not the first time that Marroquin has been unfaithful. He allegedly cheated on Kailyn Lowry numerous times during their brief marriage. And yet, the father of two keeps worming his way back into the good graces of the women in his life. How is this possible? Well, it seems the phenomenon is at least partially due to the fact that Javi has mastered the art of the schmaltzy, melodramatic apology. “Lauren, I’m sorry for my mistakes, I’m sorry I broke your heart, I’m sorry I disrespected you,” he wrote in an open letter posted to his Instagram page shortly after his latest cheating scandal went public. “I’m sorry I took you for granted. I could say sorry for a million other things but I’m sorry will never be enough,” Marroquin continued. “I will do everything in my power to become a better man and hopefully one day you can forgive me,” he added. “I’ll do anything to have you home.” Some would argue that he should have worked on that “becoming a better man” business after the last time he got caught cheating, but we digress. Elsewhere in the letter, Javi turned his attention to his two young sons: “I failed you as a father and failed at my attempt to show you both what it is to be a man,” he wrote. “I promise you both my actions will not reflect on how you will treat women, let alone the one you love.” It may not seem like Javi has been the greatest role model to his sons, but he may be useful as an example of what not to do: Don’t cheat on your fiance; don’t make private matters public, and — most importantly — never get into CrossFit. It’s basically Scientology for fitness bros.
