Maci Bookout: Ryan Edwards Is a Danger to His Son!

If you’ve been keeping up on the life of Ryan Edwards, you know that the former Teen Mom OG star has been stuck in a tragic downward spiral for much of the past two years. Edwards has been arrested multiple times for drug possession and probation violation, and sadly, his legal problems don’t end there. In what was likely the lowest point of Ryan’s life, Maci Bookout filed for a restraining order that prevented him from contacting her or anyone in her immediate family — including 9-year-old Bentley, her son with Ryan. Given that Ryan threatened the life of Maci’s husband, Taylor McKinney, the 27-year-old was left with little choice but to take legal action to protect her family. Still, filing the paperwork that would prohibit her son from seeing his father could not have been easy. Maci opened about her decision to take that step in a recent interview with Us Weekly : “It was hard, like, as far as the decision goes, but at the same time it was necessary,” Bookout told the tabloid  “Especially after considering everything that, you know, has gone on and happened and everything, like, leading up to that point. It was kind of our only option.” Despite the difficulty, Maci ultimately realized the necessity of the restraining order, and looking back, she still feels it was the best move for everyone involved: “It’s an unfortunate situation, but sometimes I think things like that have to happen for things to change or get better,” Maci said. “You’ve got to hit the lows to get back up.” In addition to the threats he made against McKinney’s life, Ryan behaved in an erratic and often menacing fashion in the weeks leading up to Maci’s filing. At one point, Bookout says, he even went so far as to threaten her in public. “[Ryan] showed up [to Bentley’s baseball game] under the influence of heroin and got in my face, yelling and threatening to hurt me,” she said. These days, Ryan is once again permitted to see his child, but he still has a number of hurdles to clear if he hopes to get his life in order. For one thing,  Edwards has been fired from Teen Mom OG , along with his wife, Mackenzie Standifer. The situation is especially problematic considering Ryan and Mackenzie are expecting their first child together , and the show was their sole source of income. All the Teen Mom Couples: RANKED From Worst to First!

Ranking Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 couples through the years is a challenging, arduous task, but one The Hollywood Gossip is up for. Hey, someone's gotta. If you're a fan of the MTV franchise, you've seen quite a few significant others come and go, while some have been longtime staples. Some relationships have been terrific, while others were (or are) utter train wrecks. Here, we break them all down from worst to first. NOTE: Due to his tragic death before Farrah Abraham gave birth to their daughter Sophia,  Derek Underwood has been left off this list. Also notably absent is Andrew Lewis , the father of Jenelle Evans' son Jace, and a man of whom almost nothing is known to this day. Everyone else, however, is fair game … from the present to the distant past! Who do you think ranks number one? Do you agree? 25. Jenelle Evans and Courtland Rogers The worst of the worst right here. Even by her standards, Jenelle Evans and Courtland Rogers were a total and complete disaster … worse than any couple in franchise history. Multiple arrests, massive drug abuse, one long stint in prison and a pregnancy that ended in an abortion tell you all you need to know. Jenelle, who has kids by three other sketchy dudes, would not go there with Courtland. Enough said. 24. Jenelle Evans and Kieffer Delp Jenelle Evans and Kieffer Delp weren’t much better. It’s really amazing that she survived some of these toxic relationships to become as stable as she is today (which is relatively unstable by regular person standards, sure, but much improved). Delp, to his credit, did give us Barbara Evans’ hilarious pronunciation of his name during her frequent rants to Jenelle at least. YA HIGH! YA BOTH HIGH! I SEE YOU WIFF KIEFFAH!! Classic. 23. Amber Portwood and Matt Baier Where do we even begin with this disaster? Amber Portwood’s boyfriend/fiance/Deadbeat Dad Extraordinaire Matt Baier has the dubious distinction of being SO BEYOND BAD for her that we’re ranking her relationship with her high school boyfriend – who she beat on camera – much higher on this list. It’s frankly amazing that Amber and Matt lasted as long as they did, considering how he hit on other Teen Mom cast members, had betweeen 7-9 kids from previous relationships, was never fully honest about his addiction issues, is 20 years her senior, and failed a lie detector test. 22. Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards Ryan Edwards, for a time, competed for the title of the worst of the worst, the absolute lowest guy on the Teen Mom ladder. He’s still battling drug abuse, if you believe his exes (including Maci Bookout). He has made some strides in the parenting department, and is married to what seems like a nice girl in Mackenzie Standifer (more on that later), but Maci and Ryan were not a good match and have feuded for years. Years. He’s got a plethora of issues, too. 21. Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith Yes, Evans is in a league of her own with these winners. This one fathered her second child and is engaged in a never-ending battle for custody of Kaiser. Nathan is no prize himself, of course, so that’s tantamount to a war of attrition. Por Kaiser. This list is not all Jenelle, we swear. Eventually, the couples improve somewhat. 20. Kailyn Lowry and Chris Lopez Kailyn Lowry and Chris Lopez dated for like a few weeks, and he wouldn’t even show his face on Teen Mom 2, but they were a couple at one point, and she did have his baby, so … he’s been around a little bit here and there since she had his child and hopefully will take to fatherhood more than it initially seemed. Kail likes to complain that he’s just an “Instagram dad” but at least he’s shown some effort at all, and he and Kail apparently still bone from time to time, so there’s that. Not a healthy or normal situation at all, but he still has so much opportunity to prove himself as this relationship plays out, so here’s hoping. View Slideshow

Ryan Edwards Fired From Teen Mom OG to Make Way For Bristol Palin?!

If you're a follower of all things Teen Mom , then by now, you've probably caught wind of the biggest development to the franchise since Farrah Abraham got fired for being Farrah Abraham. We're talking, of course, about Bristol Palin joining the cast of Teen Mom OG . The news has already prompted several important questions: Will Bristol be able to deliver the ratings? Does the average MTV viewer even remember the 2008 election? Does seeing Russia from one's house count as collusion? And, of course, how does the rest of the cast feel about Bristol's casting ? Now, it turns out the answer to that last query could create some serious problems for the show's producers: 1. New Girl Bristol is one of the most famous former teen moms in the country, but the news of her casting came as a total shock, nonetheless. 2. Classified Info MTV reportedly went to great lengths to keep the news under wraps, even going so far as to refer to Bristol by a codename in meetings and internal documents. 3. The Maci Connection An insider revealed yesterday that Maci Bookout was directly linked to the decision to cast Bristol. 4. A Failed Gambit It seems that at one point, Maci refused to continue filming unless producers assured her that they would no longer feature her first baby daddy, Ryan Edwards, on the show. Apparently, she didn’t want her eldest son to see his father struggling with addiction on TV. 5. Whoops The move backfired, however, as producers decided to continue filming Ryan while simultaneously seeking out a suitable replacement for Maci. 6. Enter Bristol And just like that, Bristol wound up joining the cast. James Gunn: Dropped from Guardians of the Galaxy Franchise Over Offensive Tweets

James Gunn has been fired as director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The decision to remove Gunn from the project arrived on Friday after conservative uncovered old tweets by Gunn in which the filmmaker joked about controversial topics such as pedophilia and rape.  Gunn has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump over the past several months and, some believe, had been targeted by Republicans such as Jack Posobiec. But that doesn’t change the fact that Gunn did write the Tweets in question. “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him,” Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said in a statement announcing Gunn’s departure. Gunn directed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and was hired awhile back to helm its follow-up. The very old Tweets at the center of this scandal have since been deleted, but Internet users posted screenshots that appear to show the director had written jokes about assault and other subjects. A sample: “Laughter is the best medicine. That’s why I laugh at people with AIDS.” Another: “The best thing about being raped is when you’re done being raped and it’s like ‘whew this feels great, not being raped!'” On Thursday, in response to this growing scandal, Gunn Tweeted: “Many people who have followed my career know, when I started, I viewed myself as a provocateur, making movies and telling jokes that were outrageous and taboo. “As I have discussed publicly many times, as I’ve developed as a person, so has my work and my humor.” He continued: “It’s not to say I’m better, but I am very, very different than I was a few years ago; today I try to root my work in love and connection and less in anger. “My days saying something just because it’s shocking and trying to get a reaction are over.” Most of the inappropriate messages were sent in 2008 and 2009. They were dug up by conservative outlet The Daily Caller. Gunn issued a statement on Friday afternoon, saying that he “regretted” the tweets in question and stressed that “they don’t reflect the person I am today.” The director added in his lengthy response to the flap: Regardless of how much time has passed, I understand and accept the business decisions taken today. Even these many years later, I take full responsibility for the way I conducted myself then. All I can do now, beyond offering my sincere and heartfelt regret, is to be the best human being I can be: accepting, understanding, committed to equality, and far more thoughtful about my public statements and my obligations to our public discourse. To everyone inside my industry and beyond, I again offer my deepest apologies. Love to all. Gunn has been penning the script for Guardians 3, and the film was expected to begin shooting in Atlanta in the fall for an expected 2020 release date. He had been keeping fans apprised of his progress via social media messages such as the following: Marvel has not yet announced a replacement for Gunn. Ryan and Mackenzie Edwards to MTV: Suck It! We Quit!

Teen Mom OG continues to undergo a massive cast overhaul. In the most stunning news of the week, Bristol Palin confirmed that she’s coming on board Season 8 of this long-running MTV franchise. And now Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Edwards have their own statement to make… … they will NOT be interacting with Palin when new episodes premiere later this year. For what reason? Because the couple is leaving Teen Mom OG behind. But not before hurling producers far under the bus first. Following weeks’ worth of rumors about their status on the series — Would Ryan step away to focus on rehab ? Did Palin’s addition force Ryan out ? — the couple released a statement to E! News that shot down all of this chatter. In doing so, Mackenzie and Ryan made it clear they are finished filming… while doing all they could to paint the show in a negative light. “We’re not returning to Teen Mom this season. The network told us they don’t want to show Ryan as a recovering addict,” Mackenzie told E! , making a rather scathing accusation. She wasn’t done making it, either: “But they did want to enter a contract with our unborn baby and have the baby film with Ryan’s parents so it would look like someone else is raising it.” Uhhhh, excuse you?!? Mackenzie is pregnant with the twosome’s first child, this much is true. However, she’s really claiming here that producers were hoping JUST the baby, and not its parents, would appear on Season 8?!? Wow. Ryan, who has wrestled with substance abuse for nearly as long he’s been in the spotlight and who was arrested earlier this year for heroin possession, also talked to the aforementioned outlet. The ex-husband of star Maci Bookout, with whom he shares a son named Bentley, Edwards argues that executives refused to let him stand on his own. He alleges they only wanted him to appear again on Teen Mom OG under the condition that Bookout essentially speak for him. And he was not having that. Not when his ex has laid down her version of the law to him. “They also want to take Maci’s word on how I’m doing,” Ryan says. “Maci’s said she’s not going to film unless I enter rehab again and quit the show. “But I’m sober.” Mackenzie went on to explain that the couple was told Teen Mom OG is trying to recreate the dramatic magic of Teen Mom 2. “I know they did want five girls to begin with after Farrah [Abraham] left to sort of resemble Teen Mom 2,” she says, adding: “But they didn’t want to see another recovering addict storyline. So they’re writing us out of the show right now and making it seem like we dipped out on our baby, on Bentley and on everyone. “And that’s just not the case.” As for other details of their departure? “The show had been paying for my healthcare and for the baby so they could film the visits and then a week ago they let me know that would no longer be the case,” Mackenzie tells E! News. “They’re not going to film the birth. We’re not going to be on at all. Mackenzie Standifer Posts Baby Bump Pic Following Mysterious Social Media Hiatus

Back in May, Mackenzie Standifer disappeared from social media. Her reasons were obvious, of course. Standifer's husband, Ryan Edwards, has been involved in just about every sort of scandal imaginable in the past few months. The downward spiral began when Edwards got arrested  several months ago, and it's continued in shocking fashion ever since. At a certain point, Mackenzie probably got sick of dealing with a new controversy every time she logged in. Fans are happy to see Standifer back on Instagram — but they still have a lot of questions about her absence. 1. Before the Fall There was a time when Mackenzie and Ryan actually appeared to have a happy marriage. That didn’t last long. 2. A Rocky Start Things got off to a bad start when Ryan got so high on his wedding day that he passed out while driving to the church. 3. Turning It Around? Shortly thereafter, Ryan checked into rehab, and it briefly looked as though he was committed to making his marriage work. 4. Worse By the Day Shortly thereafter, it was revealed that Ryan had been using a dating app to help him find suitable cheating partners. 5. Bad Timing All of this came on the heels of news that Standifer is pregnant with Ryan’s baby. It will be the second child for both partners, but their first as a couple. 6. Mackenzie Standifer: Is She FINALLY Divorcing Ryan Edwards?!

Just last summer,  Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer got married in one of the most depressng ceremonies ever captured on video. It seemed like the couple was starting at rock bottom, but remarkably, it's been all downhill ever since. In the past month, Ryan has been arrested ; he's been accused of making violent threats, and he's been caught cheating on Mackenzie. Through it all, he and Standifer have kept up appearances, but it now looks as though they're on the verge of self-destruction. 1. The Troubled Couple Ryan and Mackenzie were never exactly a match made in heaven. In fact, their marriage seemed doomed from the start. 2. A Terrifying Ride On the ride to their wedding, Ryan was so high on heroin and Xanax that he lost consciousness while driving. He checked into rehab shortly after he and Mackenzie exchanged vows. 3. The Downward Spiral After he left treatment, their relationship seemed to slightly improve. In the months that followed, however, their situation has only gotten much, much worse. 4. A Growing Family Last month, Mackenzie revealed that she’s pregnant with Ryan’s baby. Unfortunately, the news came at a very dark time for Edwards. 5. A Major Rough Patch News of the pregnancy came on the heels of reports that Ryan had been arrested and had been caught using Tinder to try and cheat on Mackenzie. 6. One Loyal Wife Remarkably, it originally looked as though Mackenzie intended to stick by Ryan’s side despite some seriously troubling behavior. Ryan Edwards Threatens to MURDER Maci Bookout’s Husband?!

Ryan Edwards … what can we say, the guy is an absolute mess right now. Between his recent arrest, his problems with wife Mackenzie Standifer, and what many people think is a relapse, things aren't as good as they could be, that's for sure. And with the orders of protection Maci Bookout recently filed against him for herself and her family, he's falling even further in his downward spiral. We've heard a few details of the kinds of things Ryan's been doing that made Maci feel the need to take the matter to court, but this latest little tidbit of information? It's easy to see why Maci is taking action. 1. Where to Start? So, uh, yeah, it’s not the greatest time to be Ryan Edwards right now, huh? 2. What a Mess Things have been unravelling very very quickly for him since last week, when we heard the news that he’d been arrested for violating the terms of his probation. 3. … Probation? Right, because apparently he was arrested last year for having heroin in his possession and somehow, some way, nobody heard about it. He was on probation for that, and he did something last week to mess it up, so he was arrested again. 4. Come On, Mack Mackenzie claims that the arrest was no big deal, that it was one of the terms of his probation that he’d have to be booked, but that doesn’t make sense. Why would he be handcuffed at his home a year after the original arrest, taken down to the police station, and held there for several hours until his family bailed him out if it was just some formality? 5. What’s the Truth? Some reports have said that Ryan violated his probation by missing a mandatory drug test, but again, that doesn’t make sense — a big issue he’s had with Maci for a while now is that she wants him to take a drug test before he sees their son but he doesn’t want to do it. Why would it even need to be an argument if he was already taking the tests for his probation? 6. Hmmm … We don’t have all the details yet, but he was on probation, he messed it up somehow, and now his whole entire life is falling apart. View Slideshow

Alyson Stoner Pens Emotional Essay About Her Sexuality, Moves Readers to Tears

Alyson Stoner, a former Disney Channel and movie star, has penned a very personal and extremely powerful essay for Teen Vogue. Titled “How I Embraced My Sexual Identity,” the piece chronicles Stoner’s journey to bisexuality, although we should note that Stoner never used this term. In the essay, the 24-year old never puts any sort of label or definition on this path or on her conclusion, simply writing that she realizes she’s now attracted to men and women. The revelation of her preferences started when Stoner found herself “mesmerized and intimidated” upon attending a dance workshop and meeting her female instructor. “After I dizzied myself from doing knee spins, she walked toward me to correct my form,” Stoner writes for Teen Vogue , adding: “My heart raced wildly and my body grew hot. Was I nervous to fail in front of an expert? Was I breathing heavily from being out of shape? “Her smile was the most electrifying thing I’d ever seen.” Following this class, Stoner texted her mom, to whom she is very close. This is what the text read at the time: “I met a woman today, I’m not sure who she is or what I’m feeling, but I think she’s going to be in my life for a very long time.” Stoner has appeared in movies such as Step Up and Cheaper by the Dozen, along with Disney shows like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. As actress-turned-singer got to know the dance instructor better, she struggled with her feelings that weren’t “quite sisterly or platonic.” She was confused. “I realized I had never fantasized about a guy this way, nor really ever felt comfortable dating guys,” she explains, elaborating as follows: “Come to think of it, I stared at women’s bodies more than anything. But wasn’t that just societal conditioning or the unattainable beauty standards that fuel comparison and objectification? “I refused to entertain other possibilities.” Still, despite not being sure what was going on, Stoner and this other woman began spending a great deal of time together. One evening, the pair made dinner and watched Orange is the New Black together and… “We vented and supported each other. Then cuddled. Then kissed and kissed some more.” This is when Stoner realized: “OK, we were in a relationship. I fell in love with a woman.” It’s unclear at what age this happened, but Stoner admits to attending therapy for years in order to figure herself out. ‘In its purest sense, I felt awakened, more compassionate and like my truest self,” she writes. “She strengthened and inspired me, creating a space for me to discover myself without judgment. We were an example of true love.” Stoner had “misconceptions” about the LGBT community, she says, adding that she wondered how this personal revelation would affect her job. ‘Some people in the industry warned me that I’d ruin my career, miss out on possible jobs, and potentially put my life in danger if I ever came out. ‘My dream and all I’d worked tirelessly for since the age of 6 was suddenly at risk by my being . . . true to myself.” She prayed on it. She battled internally. But, in the end, she could no longer deny how she felt and what she believes. “I, Alyson, am attracted to men, women, and people who identify in other ways,” she concludes. “I can love people of every gender identity and expression. It is the soul that captivates me. “It is the love we can build and the goodness we can contribute to the world by supporting each other’s best journeys.” So well said all around. Mackenzie Standifer: Is She Divorcing Ryan Edwards?!

There’s been a seriously overwhelming amount of drama going down with Ryan Edwards this week, huh? It’s all been very interesting, but once you remember that he’s a real person with a real family and not just a character on a television show … Well, it gets a whole lot more depressing, we’ll say that much. To recap, Ryan was arrested earlier this week at his home in Chattanooga for violating his probation — because oh yeah, he was also arrested last year. Unlike Mackenzie Standifer — or as Maci Bookout likes to call her, “his snake of a wife” — said, he was arrested last March, not last April, for simple possession of heroin. He was pulled over and found with the drugs and with some needles, which is definitely not legal, so boom, arrested. After that, he was put on probation, and a few reports have been claiming that he was required to take regular drug tests, but he missed his test this week, which was why he got arrested this time around. This part still doesn’t make total sense, because if he was getting regular drug tests anyway, why would such a big plot point in this season of Teen Mom OG be about him failing to take a test to see Bentley ? Anyway, he was arrested, and whatever the exact reason, it’s not good news. Also this week, there was another Tinder scandal — a woman came forward with screenshots of a flirtatious exchange she had with him, just like last time . And in the middle of all this, it was revealed that Ryan and Mackenzie are expecting their first child together . See what we mean when we said this was an overwhelming amount of drama? And to think, it’s already getting a whole lot worse. As we said, Mackenzie made a statement in which she claimed that Ryan’s arrest was nothing to be worried about, that it was just a sort of follow-up arrest from the heroin thing that happened last spring. According to her, he still needed to be booked an entire year later, and that’s why cops showed up to their house, handcuffed him, and got him that cute mug shot. It didn’t really make sense, but we just assumed it was a lie — even if it wasn’t, in saying that he was arrested last spring before their wedding, she showed she was lying about the timeline of his drug use. Who could forget that insane letter she read to Maci at the last reunion special, the one where she claimed she had no idea that Ryan was doing drugs until their wedding in May, two whole months after he was arrested? We’re getting off track though. The point is, Mackenzie made a point to tell us all that “everything is fine,” when obviously things are the opposite of fine. And now, according to a new report from Radar Online, things seem to be so far from fine that she’s left Ryan. A source close to her told the site that “Mackenzie boarded a flight to go to New York yesterday without Ryan.” Not only that, but “she left her son during her scheduled time” to do so — she gets adorable little Hudson from Friday to Tuesday, and his father has him the other days. Radar says that Mackenzie herself confirmed to them that she’s in New York, but she didn’t offer any additional details. Could it be possible that she’s finally realizing how bad her situation is? That perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to be impregnated by an intravenous drug user who’s been trying so hard to cheat on her? Could she be filming an additional little something for the show now that so much has happened? Or are we way off — maybe she’s finding a dress for a third wedding Ryan won’t be sober for. Whatever’s going on, we hope everything’s all right. But considering the circumstances, that does seem like a pretty high hope.
