If you've been keeping up with Teen Mom news, then you definitely know that Amber Portwood isn't having a great time right now. And that's because she is not a good person. She was arrested for domestic assault against then-boyfriend Andrew Glennon back in July, and since then, things have kept getting worse and worse. Now, just when it looks like Amber can't sink any lower, friend and co-star Maci Bookout has made a statement in support of her. But why though? 1. Facts Amber is an abuser. We’ve known that for a long, long time. 2. Poor Gary Several years ago, we saw her assault Gary Shirley on Teen Mom — once she punched him in the face, another time she kicked his back when he was walking down some stairs. 3. Poor Matt We never saw her hit Matt Baier, but there were plenty of rumors about it, and Matt has recently come forward to claim that she was violent with him, too. 4. Poor Andrew And although we’ve never seen her abuse Andrew, he may have the most harrowing story of all. 5. The Arrest Amber was arrested on the morning of July 5th after beating Andrew while he was holding their one-year-old son, James, and allegedly chasing him with a machete, again while he was holding James. 6. The Charges She was charged with three felonies — two counts of domestic violence, and one count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. It's been a wild ride for Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra. Once one of the Teen Mom franchise's most beloved and semi-stable couples, Tyler and Catelynn's relationship is now a constant source of controversy and speculation. When Lowell and Baltierra separated on a trial basis earlier this year, many fans assumed that was it for the couple. They've since reconciled, and they say they're doing better than ever. But last night's episode of Teen Mom OG found the Baltierras positively irate about the ongoing rumors surrounding their marriage. Take a look: 1. Toughing It Out Tyler and Catelynn have faced their fair share of hardship in recent years, but the against all odds, the couple is still going strong. 2. Maci Bookout has been a part of Teen Mom since the beginning. She is, to use the program's own language, an original; an OG , if you will. After all these years, given all she has been through in front of the camera, you'd think the series would have plenty to say about Maci and plenty to film concerning her life on a weekly basis. But Bookout is sick and tired of this not being the case. She's sick and tired of having all her storylines tied up in one person… and all Teen Mom viewers know who this person is. 1. Like We Said, Maci is a Literal OG She just returned for a new season of this beloved MTV hit, but she already has problems with it. 2. She Has Moved SO Far Past Ryan Edwards Yes, Bookout became pregnant with her first child with then-boyfriend Edwards, and gave birth to their son, Bentley Cadence Edwards, on October 27, 2008. The two got engaged in 2009 … but subsequently ended their relationship in 2010. 3. Taylor for All the Wins She is now very happily married to Taylor McKinney and has been since October 2016. 4. But Happiness Doesn’t Garner Ratings As a result, Teen Mom OG too often ignores everything in Maci’s life to hone in on whatever the heck Ryan is up to these days. 5. If you’re a Teen Mom fan, especially one who’s been following the show since the beginning, brace yourself … Bentley Edwards just turned 10. Doesn’t that make you feel about ten million years old yourself? Maci Bookout’s little boy just had his 10th birthday, which means that MTV has been following her life story for just over a decade. She was featured in the very first episode of 16 and Pregnant — remember that? It aired in the summer of 2009, and it was an intense series premiere, to say the least. In that episode, we saw Maci as a high school student who’d gotten knocked up by her older boyfriend, Ryan Edwards. They had fun together, and she clearly wanted to have a real family with him, but even then, he just wasn’t that interested. From the very beginning though, Maci proved herself to be a great mom , stepping up to take care of baby Bentley and doing the best she could to give him a good life. When Teen Mom started up and showed her life in more detail, she quickly became a fan favorite, as did Bentley. We saw her deal with Ryan staying out all night and refusing to do pretty much anything for their child . By the end of the first season, she dumped him, thank goodness. As the years went on, Bentley did have a relationship with Ryan, but mostly because of Ryan’s parents, who have always doted on Bentley. But Maci was always there, and because of her, he’s grown to be a sweet, funny, darling little boy. Except he’s not so little anymore, huh? To celebrate his big day, she shared a sweet photo of them together on Instagram: And the caption she wrote to go along with the picture … Well, if you tear up, it’s only natural. She kicked things off by announcing “My baby turned 10 today!”, and then things got real cute, real quick. “This boy has brought me more love than one soul could imagine, more laughter than my cheeks can handle, and more pride than I deserve,” she wrote. “When I say ‘He is a good one’ … I mean it.” She explained that Bentley is “as smart, funny, and athletic as they come,” but those aren’t his best qualities. “He is a good one because he is kind to everyone and loves with his whole heart,” she said. “I am so proud of this young man and the human being that he is.” She finished her message off with “Bentley, you rock buddy! You’ll always be my baby.” And her followers arrived in droves to join in on wishing him a happy birthday. “Happiest of birthdays, Bentley!” one of them commented. “You’re 10?! I can’t believe I’ve been watching you and your strong mama’s story for this long.” “My heart is so full!” another fan wrote. “Maci you’re amazing and Benny is so very blessed to have you as a mom!” Tons and tons of people left simpler, but still very sweet, “Happy birthday!” messages, including Kailyn Lowry and Chelsea Houska. And others couldn’t help but mention Ryan and his absence. See, Ryan has been in rehab since the beginning of the month, at least. Reports have claimed that he’ll stay there until next February or March, so it’s likely he’s doing six months of treatment. We still don’t have a lot of information on it, so there’s no word on if it was court-ordered or not. But we do know that he missed the birth of his first child with wife Mackenzie Standifer , so court-ordered or not, he seems to be taking it seriously. And since he the day of his second son’s actual birth, of course he missed Bentley’s birthday, too. “What an amazing young man you’re raising, in spite of daddy issues,” applauded one of Maci’s followers. “Congrats on making it 10 years Maci!” another wrote. “You did it! Without Ryan.” “You’re raising a good boy despite his dad not being there. Good job!” As one person pointed out, since Ryan’s been a “useless dad,” she can “take the credit for how perfect he’s turned out.” Someone else said that “It’s not easy being a momma with a baby daddy that isn’t worth a piece of [poop emoji].” It’s true that Ryan has never been very active in Bentley’s life — like we said earlier, if it weren’t for his parents, who knows if he’d be around at all. Maci Bookout and her husband, Taylor McKinney, are considered one of the quieter couples of the Teen Mom world. Sure, the McKinneys have endured their fair share of ups and downs over the years, but most of it has had to do with Ryan Edwards' addiction issues . Left to themselves without any drama-prone exes interfering, the couple keeps things pretty low key. And so, when Maci revealed that her daughter had been hospitalized, fans knew this was no cry for attention of the sort some of her castmates are prone to. In fact, many have jumped to the conclusion that whatever left 3-year-old Jayde laid up must have been something serious. Take a look: 1. Sarah Palin has gone from insulting Barack Obama on the campaign trail to dissing Dakota Meyer on MTV. It's been quite the journey for the former Vice Presidential candidate. On Monday night's episode of Teen Mom OG, Sarah got in the middle of the ongoing marital dispute between her daughter, Bristol, and Bristol's estranged and irritated husband, Dakota Meyer. Following Bristol's breakdown over this relationship , how did her mom try to intervene? What mean things did Dakota have to say this time around? And what were the other cast members up to? We open with Bristol complaining to Sarah about Meyer moving all her belongings into a separate bedroom while she was out of town, following their agreed-upon separation. She was really pissed over this. 2. Sarah Tried to Help “That bare empty room?” said Sarah. “Of course, that was a symbolic thing that he did there. That’s heartbreaking, Bristol.” 3. Fighting Words Bristol told her mom that Meyer also asked for her ring back, saying to his wife: “You better get your mama’s money, because I’m gonna fight you tooth and nail until the girls are 18.” 4. How Will We Move Forward? “The thing that I worry about, is how are we going to learn to communicate as coparents and putting our kids first and not having petty arguments?” wondered Bristol. 5. Meyer Loses It Bristol asked Dakota if he would be home when she got back from a trip to Los Angeles, which set him OFF. “She’s a f-cking smart ass isn’t she? She’s an obnoxious smart ass,” Meyer vented to a producer. “‘Oh, so you’re gonna be there all week?’ It’s my house. What am I gonna do, for 8 days, go find another place to stay? No.” 6. And He Wasn’t Done, Either “She just thinks that when she makes a decision and she wants to do something, everyone else should just bow down and run to her help and make it happen,” Dakota continued. “She’s not my problem anymore. Welp. This is a new one. A Chicago man was arrested this month after witnesses spotted him stuffing his three-year old son into the trunk of his car. “You are being bad and I’m going to punish you by putting you in the trunk,” Matlak screamed at his child after putting him in the trunk, onlookers told police. The temperature outside was 89 degrees at the time, according to a Norridge Police Department report. HOWEVER, the man, Boguslaw Matlak, and his wife, Laura Quijano told authorities that they were not actually punishing their child. Instead, were trying to gauge and understand public reaction to child endangerment when they turned on a hidden camera themselves and filmed Matlak placing their infant in the trunk of their vehicle. They say it was was parked in public view (outside of a restaurant in Norridge, a suburb of Chicago) for this specific reason. “I was thinking maybe I should do a video to show people that they should do something about it when they see something wrong, to get involved,” Matlak told NBC Chicago of the September 2 incident. He was simply conducting a social media experience, Matlak argues. Three people were sitting near where Matlak’s Audi was – parked outside of a Panera Bread – and told the responding officer that after shutting the trunk, Matlak quickly got into the car and sped away. Matlak said at the time to the cop that he was hioping to become an “Internet sensation.” He said he had done the same trunk prank with his child twice before, yet no one had reacted. The officer listened to Matlak’s excuse and went to check on the three-year old, who was found safe and sound with his mother. Quijano told the officer that the back seat in the car had actually been folded down … that she had been inside at the time… and that she grabbed her son right away and pulled him into the seat alongside her. Matlak was arrested and charged with endangering the life of a child. The toddler was sent by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to live with a relative for more than three weeks, but was then returned to his parents on Wednesday. “We’re still investigating,” a department spokesman has told NBC News. Rina Infelise, Quijano’s lawyer, told NBC that her client and her husband have always been consistent, saying: “From what I know the story has always been the same – it was a social experiment… “There were five cameras used. It was pretty planned out.” And pretty darn stupid.
Back in June, Bachelor Villain (or perhaps misunderstood Bachelor Hero?) Corinne Olympios lamented that The Bachelorette totally sucks now . Well, it sounds like she’s not feeling super optimistic about The Bachelor , either, with Colton Underwood as the leading man . Not only does she think that someone else would be better, but she doesn’t buy Colton’s claim to be a virgin for a second . On Wednesday, September 26, Corinne Olympios did an interview on the Domenick Nati Show. And she has some doubts about the indecisive jock whom ABC has selected as the next Bachelor. “I just have some insincere feelings I get from him,” Corinne explains. “So, we’ll see how that pans out,” Corinne says before explaining what she thinks is so insincere about him. “I do think that [his virginity] was a lie,” Corinne admits. “I don’t know why, but I just don’t buy it.” Corinne isn’t convinced that Colton is completely honest, but she shares who her pick for the Bachelor would have been. “I liked Blake a lot,” she shares. “I totally thought it should have been Blake.” Blake Horstmann is a very popular dude. That said, Corinne says that she totally understands why the producers settled on Colton. “But, you know, I think Colton was a crowd favorite,” Corinne acknowledges. “And that’s really what they’re interested in.” Corinne also has some advice for Colton — or for anyone else who might fill those shoes. “Don’t let the fame get to your head,” Corinne advises. She would know — she’s been in the orbits of a lot of men from the Bachelor franchise. Corinne shares: “I don’t like guys that get cocky after that.” Honestly, who does? Colton’s virginity could change a lot about this upcoming season of The Bachelor . But, as he recently explained to Ellen, it won’t be as awkward as people make it out to be. “You could do more in the fantasy suites than just have sex,” Colton points out. A lot of Bachelor couples use the fantasy suites to speak without a camera for the first time. That can be important. Or, as Colton suggests: “I mean, we could play board games, we could hang out.” We don’t necessarily suggest that Colton play a board game. He and those final candidates to become his fiancee should really get to know one another. Though many would be horrified at the idea of becoming engaged to someone without having sex first, we’re not saying that sex is mandatory. Instead, he and the women can talk one-on-one without cameras or judgment. That could really help him to make a decision. And, quite frankly, it could help the women decide if they want to accept his potential proposal. After a while, they might decide that they, too, don’t think that he’s being entirely honest. It’s been a rough year for Maci Bookout. The Teen Mom OG fan favorite has been forced to deal with the nightmare of trying to keep her family safe from her increasingly troubled ex, Ryan Edwards, while at the same time ensuring that 9-year-old Bentley, her son with Edwards, continues to have a relationship with his father. On top of being forced to file for a restraining order that temporarily prevented Edwards from contacting Bentley , Maci has grappled with some deeply painful setbacks in her efforts to expand her family. Late last year, Bookout suffered a miscarriage , and she spoke about the painful ordeal in a memorable episode of TMOG . But the tragedy hasn’t deterred Maci or her husband Taylor McKinney from working toward welcoming a new family member. The McKinneys have been considering the possibility of adoption for several years, and this week, Maci gave a candid interview in which she revealed that they’re closer than ever to “We are definitely still wanting to adopt. We don’t really have, like, a timeframe or, like, an exact answer,” Bookout told Us Weekly . “I feel like when we know to start the process, we will start it, but for now we’re happy with where we’re at.” Needless to say, fans were pleased to hear Maci speaking about her future with such excitement and optimism after such a difficult year. Equally encouraging is the fact that Maci says she has every intention of working with Ryan and his parents in order to ensure that Bentley has as much support from the adults in his life as possible. “I don’t think that there will ever come a time when we’re unable to co-parent with Jen and Larry,” she told Us . “Mainly because we don’t let our feelings get in the way of what’s important and the relationships that are necessary for Bentley to have. “It’s really just a matter of keeping the line of communication open and also making sure that we aren’t telling too much or giving too much of our feelings or opinions,” she said. “It’s more about information, rather than speaking about his dad because at the end of the day, Ryan is still his dad.” Asked how she and Taylor intend to approach the ongoing problem of Ryan, Maci had this to say: “Neither one of us want to ever put some sort of barrier between the possibility of a better relationship when it comes to Ryan and Bentley.” This is surely been one of the more challenging years of Maci’s life, but her attitude remains a silver lining amidst a number of dark clouds. Ranking Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 couples through the years is a challenging, arduous task, but one The Hollywood Gossip is up for. Hey, someone's gotta. If you're a fan of the MTV franchise, you've seen quite a few significant others come and go, while some have been longtime staples. Some relationships have been terrific, while others were (or are) utter train wrecks. Here, we break them all down from worst to first. NOTE: Due to his tragic death before Farrah Abraham gave birth to their daughter Sophia, Derek Underwood has been left off this list. Also notably absent is Andrew Lewis , the father of Jenelle Evans' son Jace, and a man of whom almost nothing is known to this day. Everyone else, however, is fair game … from the present to the distant past! Who do you think ranks number one? Do you agree? 25. Jenelle Evans and Courtland Rogers The worst of the worst right here. Even by her standards, Jenelle Evans and Courtland Rogers were a total and complete disaster … worse than any couple in franchise history. Multiple arrests, massive drug abuse, one long stint in prison and a pregnancy that ended in an abortion tell you all you need to know. Jenelle, who has kids by three other sketchy dudes, would not go there with Courtland. Enough said. 24. Jenelle Evans and Kieffer Delp Jenelle Evans and Kieffer Delp weren’t much better. It’s really amazing that she survived some of these toxic relationships to become as stable as she is today (which is relatively unstable by regular person standards, sure, but much improved). Delp, to his credit, did give us Barbara Evans’ hilarious pronunciation of his name during her frequent rants to Jenelle at least. YA HIGH! YA BOTH HIGH! I SEE YOU WIFF KIEFFAH!! Classic. 23. Amber Portwood and Matt Baier Where do we even begin with this disaster? Amber Portwood’s boyfriend/fiance/Deadbeat Dad Extraordinaire Matt Baier has the dubious distinction of being SO BEYOND BAD for her that we’re ranking her relationship with her high school boyfriend – who she beat on camera – much higher on this list. It’s frankly amazing that Amber and Matt lasted as long as they did, considering how he hit on other Teen Mom cast members, had betweeen 7-9 kids from previous relationships, was never fully honest about his addiction issues, is 20 years her senior, and failed a lie detector test. 22. Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards Ryan Edwards, for a time, competed for the title of the worst of the worst, the absolute lowest guy on the Teen Mom ladder. He’s still battling drug abuse, if you believe his exes (including Maci Bookout). He has made some strides in the parenting department, and is married to what seems like a nice girl in Mackenzie Standifer (more on that later), but Maci and Ryan were not a good match and have feuded for years. Years. He’s got a plethora of issues, too. 21. Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith Yes, Evans is in a league of her own with these winners. This one fathered her second child and is engaged in a never-ending battle for custody of Kaiser. Nathan is no prize himself, of course, so that’s tantamount to a war of attrition. Por Kaiser. This list is not all Jenelle, we swear. Eventually, the couples improve somewhat. 20. Kailyn Lowry and Chris Lopez Kailyn Lowry and Chris Lopez dated for like a few weeks, and he wouldn’t even show his face on Teen Mom 2, but they were a couple at one point, and she did have his baby, so … he’s been around a little bit here and there since she had his child and hopefully will take to fatherhood more than it initially seemed. Kail likes to complain that he’s just an “Instagram dad” but at least he’s shown some effort at all, and he and Kail apparently still bone from time to time, so there’s that. Not a healthy or normal situation at all, but he still has so much opportunity to prove himself as this relationship plays out, so here’s hoping. View Slideshow
