As has been rumored pretty much since the minute Season 2 sputtered to a close, Britney Spears will not be back on The X Factor this year. However, new intel indicates it’s entirely by choice – hers. Sources say there is no bad blood or in-fighting involved; Britney loves the show but wants to focus on her music, which she’s working on right now. If that’s just an excuse to get off this sinking ship, it’s a good one. And true. Brit’s in the studio recording her 8th album, with Will.i.am and producer Hit-Boy, the brains behind Kanye and Jay-Z’s “N****s in Paris.” “Britney loves Simon, she likes Demi Lovato but her thing is music ,” says an insider. After she completes the album, Britney is considering a tour … where she’ll likely make way more than the $15 million X Factor would pay her to sit there awkwardly. Life is good.

In this Xbox Live Arcade game, water becomes your ally as you use it to extinguish fires, spread oil to light enemies on fire, and eventually as a weapon itself. While there’s plenty of underwater combat with the terrorists onboard the sinking ship, you’ll also have to survive the disaster which consists of three acts each containing three chapters.

Cameras sent down to investigate vessel appear to show human remains By Michael Day in Milan Pressure is growing on the Italian government to act over revelations that 30 or more ships with radioactive cargoes, deliberately sunk by the Mafia, may be polluting the Mediterranean. The Calabrian region in the south of the country last night threatened to bypass Rome and petition the European Commission directly for help in dealing with the potential environmental disaster, while in another development investigators said that human remains may have been found on one ship – raising the possibility of a murder inquiry. Silvestro Greco, head of the region's environment agency, lambasted the response by ministers to the apparent discovery of one of the missing toxic waste vessels, the Cunsky, 18 miles off the Calabrian coast.
