Elsa Makes Her Move, Inches Up Baby Name Rankings

Pop culture is once again leaving its permanent mark on the real world. With parents still naming their kids Khaleesi , BabyCentre.com reports that Elsa has cracked the Top 100 Baby Names for the first time in history. It currently sits at number-88. And she isn’t the only Frozen character to be leaving her chilly mark, either. Kristoff, Hans, and  Sven are also up big percentages; though, Olaf, sadly, has only seen its popularity rise by 4 percent since this Disney smash hit theaters. Explains Anna Hill, vice president of Disney UK, to BabyCentre: “Families are really connecting with Elsa’s fight to overcome her fears and the powerful strength of the family bond which has helped her to achieve this.”  So, which girl/boy names sit atop the world rankings halfway through 2014? Emily/Oliver Isabella/Charlie Olivia/Harry Amelia/Noah Sophie/Jack Isla/Joshua Ella/Thomas Chloe/James Jessica/Jacob Lily/William Top 10 Baby Girl Names of 2013 10. Elizabeth Elizabeth, #10 on 2013’s list of popular baby girl names, is the name of a sitting Queen! It doesn’t get much more traditional, or classier, than that!

Kardashian Konfidential Sits on NY Times Best Sellers List, Apocalypse Approaches

We give up. We’ve tried to point out the obvious flaws in Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian (namely: an utter lack of talent), we’ve cited the latter’s publicity-based relationships, we’ve questioned why the topic of spreading mayonnaise on one’s vagina makes for talk show foder. But none of it matters. For reasons that defy comprehension, Kardashian Konfidential – the memoir that delivers such fascinating tidbits as Kourtney uses pink dish gloves – currently sits at number-four on New York Times Best Sellers List. To anyone who purchased it, we have a simple question: WHY?
