Britney Spears is reportedly still in talks to join The X Factor. It’s unclear if she’ll really end up doing it, but it’s not as far-fetched as it first seemed. According to People , it looks like the gig is more than a remote possibility. “There have been talks” with Spears and her team, a source says “Anything is possible.” Reveals a second source: “I’ve heard they are in negotiations .” Should Spears, 30, fill one of the open judge seats on the reality competition, she would likely slow the rampant speculation about who will join the cast. Janet Jackson and Avril Lavigne have been rumored as well. Last week, a new report suggested Spears wanted $20 million to take the gig and the show balked. “Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes,” Simon Cowell told reporters on a conference call last month of Spears. But he wouldn’t confirm anything. “I’ve learned a big lesson: Keep your mouth shut.” Hmm.
