Russell Brand: Arrested By New Orleans Police!

Russell Brand is in hot water over his recent iPhone flinging . New Orleans police issued a misdemeanor arrest warrant for Brand in connection with the zany British funnyman’s run-in with a photographer earlier this week. Russell turned himself in Thursday and is in police custody. Brand has been accused of grabbing a photographer’s phone on Monday and throwing it through the nearby window of a law firm in downtown New Orleans. Brand, in town filming a movie, hasn’t denied that he grabbed and hurled the phone. In fact, he Tweeted “Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory .” Brand has reportedly offered to pay for the broken window at the law firm, but the “victim,” celebrity gossip photographer Timothy Jackson, filed a police report. Jackson had been posted up along with several others to take pics of the 36-year-old, who is in NoLa shooting Oscar-winning swriter Diablo Cody’s new film. Last month, Chris Brown was accused of “robbery by sudden snatching” after Christal Spann claimed he reached out his car window, grabbed her phone and peaced. Though a report was filed in that incident, no warrant was issued. [Photo: WENN.com]

Britney Spears "Still in Talks" to Judge X Factor

Britney Spears is reportedly still in talks to join The X Factor. It’s unclear if she’ll really end up doing it, but it’s not as far-fetched as it first seemed. According to People , it looks like the gig is more than a remote possibility. “There have been talks” with Spears and her team, a source says “Anything is possible.” Reveals a second source: “I’ve heard they are in negotiations .” Should Spears, 30, fill one of the open judge seats on the reality competition, she would likely slow the rampant speculation about who will join the cast. Janet Jackson and Avril Lavigne have been rumored as well. Last week, a new report suggested Spears wanted $20 million to take the gig and the show balked. “Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes,” Simon Cowell told reporters on a conference call last month of Spears. But he wouldn’t confirm anything. “I’ve learned a big lesson: Keep your mouth shut.” Hmm. Thoughts on Britney joining The X Factor?

Rihanna on Chris Brown Remixes: All About the Music!

When Rihanna tapped her abusive ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, to join her on a sexually explicit remix of “Birthday Cake” last month, the music world was shocked. Chatting with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, she spoke about the reasons behind that remix and their other collaboration (on Brown’s “Turn Up the Music”). “I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake’ because [he was] the only person that really made sense to do the record, just as a musician ,” Rih said. “Despite everything else, that was gonna be the person.” “You know, I thought about rappers, [but] the hottest R&B artist right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track,” she explained matter-of-factly. In turn, she agreed to guest on his own remix, she said: “It was a tradeoff. Two records – one for my fans, one for his fans. That way, our fans could come together. There shouldn’t be a divide. It’s music and it’s innocent.” Brown violently assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009, but the two have rekindled at least a friendship since that point, with rumors of more. He attended her birthday party last month, and there’s been talk of the pair secretly hooking up despite his ongoing relationship with girlfriend Karrueche Tran . THG Asks: Should Rex Ryan Be Disciplined Over His Wife’s Foot Video?

Welcome to THG’s new feature, in which two of our celebrity gossip experts debate topical issues in the entertainment world and you decide who wrote the winning argument! Today, THG Asks : Should Rex Ryan face disciplinary action over his wife’s foot fetish video? YES by Hilton Hater When Rex signed a contract that pays $3 million a year, he did so with the acknowledgment that he was accepting more than just owner Woody Johnson’s money and the task of leading the Jets to their first Super Bowl since 1969. He was also trading in any semblance of a private life. Ryan coaches in new York, the sports equivalent of Beverly Hills when it comes to tabloid coverage. He’s the face of a franchise. He had to have known this embarrassing video would surface. It was his responsibility to do what he could to remove it. Not because I care one iota about what Rex Ryan’s sex life. But because a coach’s job is to motivate, not distract. When Darrelle Revis is answering questions about the pinky toe tickle instead of the zone blitz, something is very wrong. NO by Free Britney

THG Asks: Does Miley Cyrus Deserve Criticism Over the Bong Video?

Welcome to THG’s new feature, in which two of our celebrity gossip experts debate topical issues in the entertainment world and you decide who wrote the winning argument! Today, THG Asks : Does Miley Cyrus deserve the criticism over her infamous bong video? YES by Hilton Hater Legality does not equate to morality. At age 18 and partying in California, no one can argue that Miley Cyrus wasn’t within her rights to smoke salvia out of a bong . But is that the only criteria by which we judge celebrities, whether or not they can get arrested for an act? Miley isn’t stupid. She’s aware that cameras follow her around and that her fans are mostly young girls. In exchange for the popularity and money she’s earned in her career, is it really too much to ask to refrain from harmful acts in public? The law isn’t the issue here. It’s the impression Cyrus gives off. Heck, she could star in an adult film tomorrow and police couldn’t do a thing. But would supporters back this decision, as well, simply because Miley isn’t violating any laws? Miley Cyrus Bong Video NO by Free Britney
