On a recent day in Los Angeles the charismatic, now-83-year-old Robert Guillaume recalled with little effort and copious charm the skepticism he initially felt at the idea of a cartoon film about a lion who becomes the king of the animals, for which the filmmakers wanted him to voice a wise mandrill-baboon. “When they first described it to me I wasn’t all that impressed with the idea,” he admitted. “It didn’t make a lot of sense.” Eventually the parts combined into Disney’s 1994 classic The Lion King , and Guillaume saw what made it all so special. “I still think it’s kind of a miracle, that it must have touched people very deeply when they first saw it.”
Dear Breaking Dawn producers: We’re sorry. A day after a number of websites, including THG, posted leaked photos from the final installment of the Twlight Saga of Edward and Bella having sex, author Stephenie Meyer, director Bill Condon and producer Wyck Godfrey have released a statement asked these outlets to cease their actions: As some of you may know, pictures and screen grabs of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as a work in progress have leaked on the internet. We are extremely proud of this film and also extremely heartbroken to see it out there at this stage. The film and these images are not yet ready or in their proper context. They were illegally obtained and their early dissemination is deeply upsetting to the actors, the filmmakers and Summit who are working so hard to bring these movies to fruition to you in November 2011 and November 2012. Please, for those who are posting, stop. And please, though the temptation is high, don’t view or pass on these images. Wait for the film in its beautiful, finished entirety to thrill you. Once again, our bad. But reassure the Twilight team, readers: these pics have only increased your interest in the movie, correct?

Fox and director Michael Bay reportedly exchanged heated words last year. By MTV News staff Megan Fox in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Photo: Paramount Megan Fox and Michael Bay famously exchanged heated words around the release of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” last summer, with the actress comparing the director to Hitler and the director saying the actress “still has a lot of growing up to do.” Despite their contentious relationship, the pair seemed set to reunite this summer for a third “Transformers” flick. But now, in a stunning reversal, Fox has been dropped from the movie. Deadline.com broke the story that Paramount has declined to pick up Fox’s contractual option for “Transformers 3” and that giving star Shia LaBeouf a “new love interest makes more sense for the story,” according to an unnamed source. GossipCop.com has now confirmed the story. “Her option has not been picked up,” a spokesperson for the studio reportedly said. As of press time, MTV News’ calls to Paramount, Fox’s publicist and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s publicist have not been returned. MTV News had heard whispers that the filmmakers had been considering writing Fox out of the script, but nothing seemed to have come of it until now. Di Bonaventura told MTV News in April that there was no trouble in the world of “Transformers” when it came to Fox and Bay’s relationship. “Michael and Megan get along great,” he told us. “Like in any creative endeavor, there’s not always total agreement. Michael doesn’t agree on everything with me or Shia. He’s the captain of the ship. But I think that’s much ado about nothing. I even read that we were thinking about not casting her. Come on! It’s so silly. As though we would want to mess with such a successful combination.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Transformers 3.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Word on the street is that James Mangold is in talks to direct a biopic about the legendary New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath. While there appears to be no script as of yet, the film would no doubt cover all the crucial milestones of Namath’s life, from leading his team’s heroic upset of the Colts in Super Bowl III to shilling for Hanes BeautyMist pantyhose to his stunning, drunken on-air flirtation with ESPN sideline reporter Suzy Kolber in 2003. The high-profile project will make for one of the most coveted roles in Hollywood, for which every agent in Hollywood will have only one question for the filmmakers: ” Who’s playing Kolber? ”
