READ MORE: Full Coverage Of Bill Cosby’s Retrial For Sexual Assault After he was found guilty in April , prosecutors asked for Cosby to be incarcerated immediately, but the judge released him on $1 million bail and ordered him to stay his home until the sentencing. Now, according to TMZ , “Authorities connected to the case tell TMZ … prosecutors will push for the disgraced comedian/felon to be immediately hauled off to prison once the judge sentences him Monday AM.” Cosby will be sentenced at Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas and the 81-year-old is facing 30 years in prison. Over several decades, he has been accused of assaulting over 60 women. Constand and at least five other accusers will be at the sentencing but they will not be able to testify. According to NBC News , “Cosby’s lawyers opposed the request for additional accusers to testify at the sentencing hearing. Judge O’Neill agreed, writing in his order that in an ‘exhaustive review’ of state case law he found nothing allowing him to consider ‘uncharged conduct” at the sentencing.” Cosby’s legal team is appealing the verdict and if he is allowed to be released while fighting for an appeal, he will more than likely never be in prison. Dylann Roof Facing New Competency Hearing Ahead Of Charleston Church Sentencing

SMH…. Dylann Roof To Face New Competency Hearing Dylann Roof will have a new competency hearing ahead of his sentencing. The murderer who was convicted on all 33 counts in relation to that 2015 Charleston church shooting, will undergo a second hearing to determine if he’s competent to stand trial at his sentencing. Roof, who wants to represent himself during sentencing, was found guilty of nine counts of hate crimes resulting in death, three counts of hate crimes involving an attempt to kill, nine counts of obstructing the exercise of religion resulting in death, three counts of that charge with an attempt to kill, and nine counts of using a firearm to commit murder during a crime of violence. Jurors will decide if he deserves the death penalty or life in prison. USA Today reports: Standby counsel for Dylann Roof, 22, filed a motion under seal Thursday asking Judge Richard Gergel of U.S. District Court in Charleston determine whether the defendant is competent to proceed with the sentencing phase. Gergel granted that motion and scheduled the competency hearing for Monday, a federal holiday, with jurors expected to reconvene for the sentencing phase Tuesday. The motion came one day after a hearing in which Roof again said he would represent himself during the sentencing. He told the court he planned to offer an opening statement but will not call witnesses or submit evidence in his defense […] With sentencing set to begin in five days, Roof again has dismissed the lawyers, a move that prevents them from submitting evidence that he suffers from a mental defect. Evaluations and testimony from mental health experts in the sentencing phase often are considered key factors that might persuade jurors to vote for a life sentence over execution. In court filings, Roof has indicated he will not call mental health experts, reversing a course his lawyers had planned earlier. Hopefully, this murderous trash is ruled competent before his sentencing in January.

Abusing father labelled ‘evil incarnate’

June 26th 2010… A JUDGE has called a New York man “evil incarnate” before sentencing him to serve 50 years to life for sexually assaulting his six-month-old daughter and dumping her in the woods. Cory Clarke was ordered to serve a maximum 25 years for attempted murder and a maximum 25 years to life for predatory sexual assault against a child, the two most serious charges of which he was found guilty in March. The sentences must be served consecutively, meaning Clarke, 28, will not be eligible for parole until he turns 78. He was also sentenced on other charges for sexual crimes and child endangerment. “On that day, you lost your humanity and you became evil incarnate,” Judge Frank LaBuda said. “This was a vicious, evil act committed beyond the pale of reason or explanation.” Clarke, who had just been awarded visitation rights to his daughter, left her in a forest near the Wal-Mart in Monticello, about 145km from New York City, on July 4 2009. He then reported the baby as missing to Wal-Mart employees. He told employees and police investigators he left his daughter outside a bathroom while he changed her brother’s diaper and returned to find her gone. Five hours later, the infant was found alive in a wooded area about 150m from the store, lying face down in mud and grass with no nappy or pants. Clarke was eventually accused of abusing the baby on July 3 at his home in Monticello. Prosecutors said he dumped the baby and concocted the kidnapping story to hide the abuse. “He should have been her protector, her shield from the evils of the outside world, but instead he became her assaulter, her abuser,” District Attorney Jim Farrell said. Fred Neroni, Clarke’s attorney, would not comment after the sentencing but vowed to file an appeal within 30 days. The baby’s mother did not attend the sentencing. http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/world/abusing-father-labelled-evil-incarnat… added by: eden49
