The Vampire Diaries: 7 Season 7 Spoilers from Comic-Con

Fans must wait all the way until October 8 for the premiere of  The Vampire Diaries Season 7 on The CW. Fortunately, the show's key cast members and producers gathered at Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend to provide scoop on the following upcoming storylines: Damon without Elena in his life. Caroline trying to stave off the formation of Staroline. Enzo's big decision. New villains in town. The demise of Mystic Falls as we've known it. Scroll through the following slides to gather up scoop on what will go down this fall on The Vampire Diaries Season 7… 1. A Dark Damon Both Ian Somerhalder and Julie Plec teased that Damon will return to the “sexy, volatile, fun” Damon from Season 1 and 2. Said the producer: “For him, it’s ‘Who am I without this girl right by my side?’ We’re going to see a lot of naughty Damon trying not to be naughty.” 2. Staroline… Not Forever? Plec promises “many unexpected twists and turns” when it comes to Caroline and Stefan’s relationship, as the former will be doing all she can to stave off the formation of Staroline. But it won’t be easy for her. 3. Who’s Going Shirtless? It doesn’t matter much to us, they’re all pretty easy on the eyes, but Plec also teased “shirtless stuff every episode.” 4. Choosing a Side Enzo will have quite a dilemma on his hands when Season 7 opens. “It’s about choosing his allegiance,” Michael Malarkey says. “Does he go with Lily and the Heretics or does he side with Damon? It’s a struggle for him.” Look for a major decision to be made by the end of the premiere. 5. Big and Very Bad Producer Caroline Dries acknowledged how awesome Kai was as a villain on Season 6, but she’s confident the Heretics can maybe surpass him on Season 7: “By bringing in Lily’s family, it’s these six villains who can do magic — and they’re vampires. It’s going to be exciting and gruesome and violence.” 6. RIP, Mystic Falls? Partly through the use of flashbacks and time jumps, we’ll learn how Mystic Falls became the abandoned, polluted town we saw at the end of the Season 6 finale. View Slideshow

Two SoCal High School Footballers Charged With Sex Assault Of 6 Underaged Girls!

These kids nowadays…SMH California High School Football Players Charged With Sex Assault Of Underaged Girls Via NYDailyNews Two southern California high school football stars — including one nicknamed “Sweet Feet” by Snoop Dogg — have been charged in a disturbing sex assault investigation involving six underage girls. The suspects, both 17-year-old students at Vista Murrieta High School, about 60 miles southeast of Los Angeles, were arrested Thursday and made first appearances in Riverside County juvenile court Tuesday. Running back Kishawn Holmes was charged with sex assaulting two different girls through the use of force or fear and performing lewd acts on a third victim under the age of 14, prosecutors said. Holmes also was charged with trying to dissuade one of his alleged rape victims from speaking to authorities and three counts of false imprisonment involving three other girls, prosecutors said. As for Holmes co-defendant… Second teen suspect Byron Holt Jr. was also charged with sex-related crimes in connection with the investigation, but the details of his case remain sealed, Hall said. Holt’s mom and lawyer attended his hearing and later told the media he faces felony charges of lewd acts on a minor under 14. The lawyer characterized the sexual interaction as consensual, according to KCAL 9. Holt is expected to be released to his parents’ custody pending his next court appearance. “I just want his name cleared,” his mother, Tasha Penniman, told KCAL. “Byron is a good kid, a great kid. …He’s very humble.” It’s always sad when a kid does something terrible and the parents just can’t seem to fathom how their “baby boy” could have committed a heinous crime. Former Washington Post Editor Len Downie: Huffington Post a ‘Parasite’

It appears that the Huffington Post isn’t just upsetting people for its often uncouth and liberal take on the day’s news. Now people are getting irritated with its willingness to reprint other outlet’s content while offering minimal credit. And so goes the view of former Washington Post editor Leonard Downie, Jr., author of “ The Rules of the Game.” During his remarks at the James Cameron Memorial Lecture at London’s City University on Sept. 22, Downie gave his view of “the new news” and offered a harsh critique of the Huffington Post. He explained operations like HuffPo operate on the cheap. “This follows, in a way, the model of national Internet news aggregators like Huffington Post,” Downie said. “They confine their costs to minimal staffing necessary to operate the websites and edit content.” He maintained that the site co-founded by editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington would take from national and local sources and fill in the holes with content from unpaid bloggers. The aggregators fill their websites with news, opinion, features, photographs and video that they continuously collect – some would say steal – from other national and local news sites, along with mostly unpaid postings by bloggers who settle for exposure in lieu of money,” he continued. And this sort of use of media is a parasitical approach to journalism, luring an audience through the use of “titillating” content. “Though they purport to be a new form of journalism, these aggregators are primarily parasites living off journalism produced by others,” Downie said. “They attract audiences by aggregating journalism about special interests and opinions reflecting a predictable point of view on the left or the right of the political spectrum, along with titillating gossip and sex. Revealing photos of and stories about entertainment celebrities account for much of the highly touted web traffic to the Huffington Post site, for example.” Even Downie himself, back in 2008 said there would be a time when the print edition of some newspapers wouldn’t exist. But he said local papers would likely survive. But he said that he was unsure how outlets like the Huffington Post would fare going forward. “It is not yet clear whether many – or any – of the aggregators will become profitable – or, more importantly, whether any of them will become sources of original, credible journalism,” he said.

Editorial Promoting Telemed Abortions in Iowa Admits They’re Currently Being Done Illegally

In a September 5 editorial promoting the legalization of RU-486 telemed abortions, the Des Moines Register editorial board had to admit Planned Parenthood of the Heartland is currently committing them illegally.  Read carefully: … Planned Parenthood of the Heartland has used telemedicine as it was intended: to expand access to legal health services in rural Iowa. The challenge of that smart approach should prompt state leaders to update laws and policies – to give Iowans increased access to health care, including abortion, through the use of technology . Now it’s up to Iowa leaders to: – Re-evaluate outdated abortion laws in this state. The law requiring physicians to perform abortions made sense when all abortions were surgical procedures. But that requirement is called into question now that women are increasingly choosing to take a drug…. Iowa should take a step forward in fostering 21st century medicine – including using it to give women access to a legal medical procedure. In touting the need for telemed abortions in rural areas, the editorial board did not present a solution for aborting mothers who encounter emergencies in rural areas. Instead the editorial board ridiculously relied on unsubstantiated data from the fox guarding the hen house to say the hens are safe: PP says that of the 1,500 women who have used telemedicine for abortions over the past 2 years, none has reported complications. Yes, let’s take the word of the megaabortion industry committing these abortions to say all is well. Are you really that gullible, Des Moines Register ? Not one complication of 1,500 telemed abortions committed over the course of 2 years? Not one ? Planned Parenthood Federation lists 5 possible complications, which I’m copying and pasting: an allergic reaction to either of the pills incomplete abortion – part of the pregnancy is left inside the uterus infection undetected ectopic pregnancy very heavy bleeding (To clarify, by “part of the pregnancy… left inside the uterus,” PP means not to say “part of the baby.”) So out of 1,500 abortions there has not been one allergic reaction, not one infection, not one ectopic pregnancy found after the fact, and not one case of heavy bleeding? Wow. I skipped the complication of an “incomplete abortion” because the PP Federation elsewhere states : Complete abortion will occur in 96–97 percent of women who choose mifepristone. In the small percentage of cases that medication abortion fails, other abortion procedures are required to end the pregnancies. This means PP of the Heartland, which should have encountered 45-60 incomplete abortions out of 1,500 RU-486 telemed abortions, in actuality encountered not one ? Wow again. That’s amazing. Because if there were any complications or need for surgical abortions in the event of an RU-486 fail, again the question for mothers in rural areas would be, where to go? Had the Des Moines Register editorial board written this opinion piece for a Journalism 101 class, it would have gotten an F for not checking the obviously biased source of a pretty incredible and unsubstantiated statistic. And the board had the nerve to call pro-lifers “backward.”
