No DNA Found On Suspected O.J. Simpson Murder Weapon It turns out the LAPD didn’t discover the knife that killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman 21 years after it would have mattered after all. Despite suspicions that a potential murder weapon was found on O.J.’s property a few years after the trial and randomly kept under wraps for another 18 years…DNA evidence to link it to the murders is unsurprisingly nonexistent. Via TMZ : LAPD detectives hit a dead end with the knife that was buried on O.J. Simpson’s Rockingham estate … TMZ has learned. Sources familiar with the situation tell us, the DNA testing produced no matches. We’re told the microbes in the soil degraded any DNA to the point it was impossible to get a meaningful result. We’re also told there was no hair or other sample that produced a lead. TMZ broke the story … a construction worker found the buck knife with a 5″ blade buried on the perimeter of the property and gave it to a retired LAPD cop who was doing traffic control for a movie shoot. The cop took it home and put it in his tool box for more than a dozen years. The LAPD has not announced the results, but we’re told the investigation is over. Fact is … it’s impossible to know for sure if this was the murder knife, but it is interesting it appears to have been buried long enough to degrade any DNA. Hey…murder weapon or not, it isn’t O.J.’s fault the LAPD couldn’t manage to find this piece of potential evidence until it was too late, and couldn’t manage to even test it to see until two decades after the fact. Paul Watson, 44, appeared at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court today accused of using high strength glue on a female’s genitals. The bizarre allegation was revealed today after Watson made his first appearance in court. Watson is charged with maliciously wounding an unnamed woman with intent to cause Grievous Bodily Harm. He has yet to enter a plea and no further details on the case have yet been released. Watson, of Sherbourne Road, Blackpool, Lancashire, was remanded in custody following the hearing at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court today. Prosecutor Pam Smith asked for the case to be heard at crown court due to the seriousness of the allegation. If convicted of the offence the accused, who made his first appearance in court for the charge, could face a prison sentence. Magistrates agreed and so Watson will appear at Preston Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on November 26. Holy isht… 34% Of Black Males In Alabama No Longer Have The Right To Vote Via YourBlackWorld The devastation of mass incarceration cannot ever truly be measured, considering how far its tentacles stretch. There are the children of prisoners, who grow up fatherless or motherless, the devastation of living a life behind bars, and the diminishing number of suitable male companions in the African American community, which impacts the black family. But also, voting laws which disenfranchise people who’ve been convicted of a crime are now being viewed as just another tool voter suppression. In an article titled, Mass Incarceration and White Supremancy, Al Jazeera quotes Bryan Stevenson, Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) on the impact mass incarceration is having on society: Mass incarceration, he argues, has radically changed society. He speaks of urban communities, like Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Washington, where 50 percent of young black men are in prison, on parole or probation and where the disenfranchisement of convicted felons “has horrific implications for the political aspirations of people of colour.” In Alabama, Stevenson said, 34 per cent of black men have permanently lost the right to vote and within the next 10 years the level of disenfranchisement will be higher than it has been since passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965. Stevenson also discusses how welfare reform devastated the black family: Stevenson points to the consequences of the 1996 Welfare Reform Law which denied drug offenders eligibility for public housing, food stamps and other benefits, and that has had a disastrous impact on black women and children.Black women comprise half of the female prison population, although they are only 12 percent of the total population. Between 1986 and 1991the number of black women incarcerated for drug offences soared by 828 percent. 34% is an alarmingly high number of black men who cannot participate in the political process. What’s even more sad is that the number of black men incarcerated seems to be increasing each year and the problem may only get worse if we don’t make significant changes in our communities to prevent crimes that are taking our young brothers away from being productive members of society. Cash Money CEO Birdman confirms to MTV News that the label will continue to support the New Orleans rapper. By Nadeska Alexis Mystikal Photo: Daniel Boczarski/Getty Images Mystikal inked a new deal with Cash Money Records in December to release his upcoming sixth studio album, Original, but the New Orleans rapper will have to delay work on his LP due to legal troubles. Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, has been sentenced to three months in jail for probation violation. On Monday, Louisiana State District Judge Tony Marabella handed down the three-month sentence for the 41-year-old rapper, who was arrested in February and charged with a misdemeanor for domestic abuse battery. The arrest was in violation of his five-year probation, stemming from sexual battery and extortion charges that landed him in a Louisiana prison from 2004 to 2010 . A spokesperson for Cash Money CEO Birdman issued a statement to MTV News, confirming the label will continue to support Mystikal’s career, emphasizing that the arrest will not affect their relationship. Birdman’s rep added that Mystikal will turn himself in on May 14 to being the sentence, but he will only serve 81 days, since Marabella is crediting him for the nine days he spent behind bars after the February arrest. During a March visit to “RapFix Live,” Mystikal revealed a few details about his anticipated album, including an upcoming collaboration with Cash Money labelmates Drake and Busta Ryhmes. “I’m telling you, this album is gonna be so well worth the wait, Sway, believe that,” Mystikal told MTV News’ Sway Calloway. “Busta [Rhymes] was one of the first artists I worked with when I first came home. Busta came out there, came all the way to Baton Rouge. I’m talking about we got it in.” In mid-March, Mystikal dropped the video for his album’s lead single, “Original,” which featured appearances from Lil Wayne and Birdman and gave fans a glimpse of the luxurious YMCMB lifestyle.
