Source: Maury Phillips / Getty “House Party” Actress Back With New Movie “Sins Of The Father” Fans may remember AJ Johnson for her iconic roles as “Sharane” in “House Party” and “Juanita” in “Baby Boy.” Now, the NJ born and bred actress is back with a new movie on TVOne “Sins of The Father,” about the murder of the wife of an Atlanta-area pastor, a crime that sends shockwaves through their close-knit community. However things aren’t what they seem and as law enforcement’s investigation unfolds, secret lives filled with lust, adultery, and corruption come to the surface. Johnson plays the no-nonsense Det. Phylicia Richardson, who is tasked with unraveling the mystery murder of the church’s First Lady. “Phylicia Richardson is actually AJ Johnson before Hollywood,” Johnson told BOSSIP by phone. “Phylicia is the bookworm, the intellectual…now, she’s been given a platform to be all of who she is – now we get to see her work her magic on this case that has gone cold.” Source: Gabriel Olsen / Getty The thespian said she and director Jamal Hill had full creative control of the movie, often shooting up to 15 hours a day and then meeting to rewrite scenes for the next day. The movie, which was shot in Atlanta, was years in the making for Johnson, who said that she wanted to find the right role after the critical acclaim of “Baby Boy.” “I personally have been waiting for a project that helped me not to miss my experience in ‘Baby Boy,’ which was my last dramatic role,” she said. “ John Singleton and his way of creating spoiled me. So I was waiting for that kind of role, that kind of director…Then TV One called, and I felt like it was an answered prayer right there.” Johnson said she hopes that viewers will take away that the truth always comes to light. “We’re living in a time and space where corruption, deceit and adultery exit in certain areas,” Johnson explained. “Between cell phones and social media, so much is exposed, why not expose the dark in the church community, and correct it?” “Sins of the Father” will air July 7 at 8 P.M. (EST) on TVOne.

Source: Prince Williams / Getty Drake Settles False Claims And Extortion Lawsuit Against Layla Lace Remember when we told you that Drake was suing the woman who made false pregnancy claims against him and later filed a rape report against the rapper and demanded millions of dollars cash to keep the claims “private?” Well, it looks like the dust has settled on all of that. According to TMZ , Drake filed docs saying that he and the vixen with amply enhanced everything have settled their differences when it comes to her claims that Drake impregnated her during a one night stand during the “Boy Meets World” tour last year, her later reports that the encounter was a sexual assault, and her extortion attempts surrounding both claims. According to the docs, Layla has agreed not to republish the April 17, 2017 Instagram post where she posted medical paperwork proving a pregnancy and texts between herself and a third party making arrangements for her to meet with Drake alongside a caption claiming that he had been ignoring her since she informed him of the pregnancy. She is also not permitted to make any further appearances or public “statements alleging or insinuating that [Drake] assaulted her,” no mention of her pregnancy by him or his subsequent abandonment, or anything negative about him in general. She also can’t get any friends or associates to do this dirty work on her behalf. Essentially, rather than any monetary damages, Drake settled for a “leave me alone and keep my name out of your mouth” payment from Layla. Seems pretty generous on his part, considering all she put him through last year. After all this…do you think Papi is being more picky with his puts his peen these days? Prince Williams/Getty Images

Image via NBCU Photo Bank/Getty Nell Carter Explains Why Blackface Is Offensive On ‘Gimme A Break’ Earlier today Megyn Kelly took to live, nationally syndicated television to pontificate about whether or not white people wearing Blackface is ok. In Megyn’s opinion, it is not. She is wrong. She will get ran down on for trying it. She better know that. It’s f***in’ ridiculous that in 2018 there are STILL salty soup cookies who try Blackface each and every Halloween. Blackface didn’t JUST become wrong in today’s climate of political correctness. It was wrong as hell 34 years ago when people were even LESS conscious of offending others. For reference, peep this clip of Nell Carter breaking down Blackface on a 1984 episode of Gimme A Break . Hey, Megyn, STFU and eat your mayo.

NEW YORK, NY – MAY 21: Mario Winans performs onstage during the Puff Daddy and The Family Bad Boy Reunion Tour presented by Ciroc Vodka and Live Nation at Barclays Center on May 21, 2016 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Live Nation ) Dept. Of Justice Says Mario Winans Dodging Restitution Payments From Tax Fraud Case Mario Winans has been hit with more financial trouble in connection to his federal tax evasion case. Last year, the “I Don’t Wanna Know” singer pled guilty to one count of failure to file taxes under a plea deal after admitting that he’d only filed federal taxes once in the last 12 years. Under the terms of the deal, Winans got five years probation, 500 hours of community service at a boys music school in Newark, seek mental health treatment and pay $434,968 in restitution. But the former Bad Boy artist apparently hasn’t started paying the restitution part, and last month, the Department of Justice slapped him with a $435,068 lien on his $1.3 million Northern New Jersey mansion. According to the lien, the feds are threatening to slap a 25 percent in interest on the judgment if he doesn’t start making payments, and are reserving the right to throw him in prison for 20 plus years. As of Friday, there was no evidence that Winans had started making debt payments.
